Novotel Toronto North York

I have stayed at this Hotel many times over the years. I like that it's away from downtown, but very easy to get to places. There are good restaurants close and there's a subway station in the basement of the mall. The hotel is very clean the rooms large and the staff does a great job of taking care of you. Also I feel the price for parking per day is very reasonable.

The pool was down for maintenance. I come to Toronto for a certain Festival. When we were there in 2018 the pool was down for maintenance. That's my only complaint, and it won't stop me from coming back.

Nice lively location at a center location, lots of shops and restaurants around. Front desk staff were very helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Plenty of parking spaces underground, albeit paid. The parking belongs to the mall, but hotel offers multiple entry if validated the through the hotel. Subway station inside the building. Near highway 401.

Housekeeping could be better. Hotel charges flat $21 for parking in any day, whereas self-parking at the same location costs $10 during weekends (weekday rates are at par). The interior is a bit older.

Nice size rooms Even if the hotel is not centrally located, it is close to subway, access directly from the hotel, on a direct line to downtown. Close to supermarket and a lot of restaurants Good options for a quick dinner in the hotel restaurant

Overall experience when charging the room. Even if in the end it all worked out and the staff was able to help after a few tries, I was charged more due to a faulty new system. The money was refunded, but it affected my overall stay, as i had to constantly deal with this problem.

We arrived in Toronto 30 mins early and the staff were friendly and able to accomodate our early check-in. We had a broken toilet in our room when we arrived but the staff were quick to respond and fixed it immediately. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotels location and very convenient for traveling downtown by subway. The subway is accessible from North York Centre Station beneath the building. There is a food court within the building connected to the hotel. It's very convenient.

I typically prefer a less expensive room when traveling with my family, but considering the hotels location and ease of the subway travel downtown, I think the price was fair (I just wish it was less 😉 - as I'm always on the lookout for travel deals for my family). Wish the hotel room had a bath and not just a shower.

I've stayed in a lot of places and this is a great 3 star hotel. If you know what to expect from a 3 star hotel then your expectations will be met (I phrase it that was because sometimes with reviews it feels like people expect 5 star hotel at 3 star rates). Clean, great staff, very comfortable bed and pillows, lots of hot water and decent shower pressure, easy access to the subway. The small fridge with a couple water bottles was a nice touch to leave leftovers. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

No issues from my end. The room I had didn't have a solid bathroom door (more like swinging doors) so if you were a couple you might want to ask for one with a solid door, but fine for me as a solo traveller.

The room was nice, no problems. The staff were great with my son. I received a drink certificate for the bar (I am Accor Platinum) which we used in Trio when we had dinner. The food was good as well.

We were disappointed that the pool was closed. We went to use the gym, and then were disappointed that not only was the pool closed, the men's changeroom was as well, which meant that when we needed to use the washroom, we had to go back to our room on another floor. We were hoping to have a swim or hot tub after the two basketball games that my son had played that day.

The staff at the reception was friendly, and they helped me when I was having issues with Wi-Fi. Someone at the front desk came up to help me. The restaurant was nice enough to let me heat my food in their microwave. The bed was comfortable and the hotel is a 2-min walk to the subway, which was convenient for me.

It’s a 30 minutes subway commute to downtown, which I don’t really mind per se, but you should keep in mind if you have meetings or things to do downtown. I got the room on a discount and probably wouldn’t pay full price for it. In my opinion, it’s not fancy enough for $500/night. I also read someone mention they only had 2 bottles of water in their room, but I didn’t get any.

The buffet breakfast the food was cold. Use better equipment for maintaining heat for hot food. However, food server was great he was very friendly and attentive

TV service technology wifi terrible!. A lot of the channels there was no service not acceptable for hotel of this caliber. Expect superior connectivity.

Great location (close to subway, cafes, restaurants, banks, service of Canada etc). Great cardio equipment in the fitness center. Sauna/pool availability. Fast elevators. The room equipment: air conditioner, working unit (table + office chair), huge king-size bed, TV, storage units, bathrobe, fan, ironing equipment etc).

Room cleanliness could be better (dust). Air conditioning worked in a "fan" mode, I wished it to be able to cool the room. The price could be better. The hotel is a bit old but is in pretty good condition.

Foremost the staff, from reception to housekeeping to our dinner waitress to our morning waiter, was extremely friendly and helpful. Much to our surprise, Reception left some Happy Anniversary wishes and a tray of nibbles in our room! We don’t recall dealing with such exceptional people for an overnight stay. We so wish we had gotten their names for this review. Bed and pillows were to our liking as was the lighting at the bed. Finally, good lighting to read by! Overall, the room was quite nice and comfortable.

We only have one thing that could be fixed. The shower door did leak a fair amount.
