Hotel Saint-Andre

Great location, great staff, comfortable bed and very good A/C unit. The room is spacious and they offer a daily breakfast in the lobby. You can tell that the building and the facilities are old, but newly renovated, however that is not anything that affected our stay at all.

The hotel is newly renovated, and the room and bathroom were exactly as pictured and really lovely! The front desk people also made the check-in and check-out process very pleasant and easy, answering all my questions. They also reminded me about the complimentary breakfast, which was just right for me, nothing fancy but a good way to start the day (and with coffee!) I really enjoyed my stay. The proximity to Old Montréal and Rue Denis and the bus station was a big plus for me as well.

The only item on my wish list would be for more sound-proofing between the door and the hallway. I could clearly hear anything that was said by guests passing through the hallway, as well as the music from the lobby. Since I had a late night and an early morning it wasn't really an issue, but if I'd wanted to sleep earlier or later it might have bothered me. It seemed like the room doors might have been the only thing not yet renovated by the hotel, and so they are thin and have a space underneath, so perhaps that would be the next step if their budget allows.

Excellent location, and newly renovated bedroom and bathroom. Yannick at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming.

Shower curtain. We were in disbelief when they put a micky mouse shower curtain in a nice renovated bathroom. The shower curtain fell off several times during the shower and it was so frustrating to put it back, took two people to do it as it had to be turned and twisted until it stays in place. Asked to do the room twice to the house keeping staff, they told us to tell at the front desk. We told the front desk staff and when we came back, the room wasn't done. Room attendants completely ignored our request to do the room.

Location

Never received my wake up call for 6:39am as requested the evening before leaving. The shower.. while very modern and expensive looking I prefer a shower that isn't spraying water all over the place. Other than that this is a nice hotel that I first stayed at over 35 years ago. Last time I visited Montreal was 8 years ago and as usual I stayed at the St.Andre hotel. Sadly, St Catherine Street has deteriorated since my last visit. Maybe the city should consider cleaning up this once beautiful area of Montreal. The trash on the street and panhandling and homeless has destroyed the once vibrant vibrant it had.

Centrally located to restruants, bars,, pharmacy. Airport bus, 747 stop is a few mins walk. Very convenient. Berri-Uquam metro station just a few mins walk. Staff are very friendly and do everything to accommodate. The beds were super comfy. Coffee at counter for guests, which is a nice touch. Continental breakfast provided. Storage availability was very convenient as our flight arrived earlier. Will definitely return to this hotel.

Breakfast area could have a larger countertop and some trays provided would help, especially for guests on higher floor..

The staff member was very friendly and the hotel felt very secure with the locked doors at night. The room was a little bit small and didn't have a table or chairs, but the room and bathroom were tidy and clean for the price. The 24-hour reception was very convenient since we checked in very late into the night and checked out in the early morning but the employee was very helpful with our needs.

The quality of the bedding felt a little uncomfortable and the shower in the bathroom had no door and there was no drain outside of the shower itself so water would get everywhere in the bathroom.

The bed is very comfy and the bathroom is very clean. I like the room. The location is perfect - was close to walk to everything interesting. And there is also a 40mins bus to the airport only 5mins walk to the bus stop from the hotel - so is a prefect location for a short stay in Montreal and want to explore but have morning flight the next day

I stayed there on sat night and it was quite noisy during the midnight from people partying - and it was quite hard since i need to catch morning flight.

Location is amazing. We were impressed by the renos of the lobby, we didn't expect as fancy of a place. We were absolutely in awe of the friendliness and helpfulness of Khadija who worked at the reception desk in the evening, her flexibility with our lack of planning (we booked a room smaller than what we needed)and her quick fix of our mistake (provided a mattress). Also enjoyed being able to borrow a phone charger from the hotel. We loved the 24h open reception. Didn't hear any sound coming from rooms next to us.

The door to enter the lobby from outside is heavy and not practical when carrying luggages, as there is no way to keep it open unless you or someone holds it. We were on the main floor and could hear some of what was happening in the lobby. I was mostly worried that our children who weren't always quiet could disturb other people.

Staff was friendly, happy and spoke English which was great in my case as I do not speak French. Location was also great a lot of shops.

For the price of the room it was very small, king size bed was great but took up to much space in the room. Could barely move across the bottom of the bed without moving awkwardly. Bathroom was really small no tub. Shower had no curtain or enclosure, so when showers were taken everything was wet. For the 3 nights there, there were no house keeping in our room had to use same towels to shower everyday. No coffee maker which was also a pain. And no hair dryer.
