Room with place to work by window overlooking street. Location excellent for Palais des Conges once I worked out a 'quiet/green' route via Hotel de Ville and de la Gautieres (spelling?). Also not far from Mont Royal. Breakfast included and more than adequate to fuel the morning. Lovely homely period atmosphere. Stayed pervious week at the Delta for access to McGill. No complaints about that, but what a contrast. Manoir Sherbrooke will always be associated with my stay in Montreal 'You can check out, but you can never leave'.

I was surprised by the arrangement for the extra air conditioning, which consisted of a boarded-up window held on with duct tape, and the vent tube pushed through it, but I cannot say there was anything I 'disliked'.

I booked this hotel because of the style and period of the hotel, it lived up to my expectations. The staff were friendly, Carol was exceptionally friendly and serving. Wally saved us hundreds by laying out a 4 day tour of Montreal that we were able to do by foot. Frederic is the new owner and was more than accommodating. He was offering us a mattress for our son who unexpectedly stayed with us on our final night, we told him it wasn't necessary. When we returned from the day, the room was made up with the mattress, blankets and pillows set up on the floor for our son. I give the food 5/5 because it is a spread that I am not used to but absolutely enjoyed. One morning we were to leave earlier than the breakfast was ready and Wally had two breakfasts boxed up for my wife and I. When asked about the room size, normally I would not be happy with the size of the room, but this was my type of hotel. The hotel has set up for guests to enjoy the ambiance of the main floor dining area. The chairs and tables were comfy and we were able to sit and relax. Oh and the air conditioning, when the temperatures are 30 degrees, this is the best air conditioning I have ever experienced in a hotel. When the AC was on, there is no muggy old smoking smell. The hotel has a small patio with chairs, bench and tables outside that are quite inviting as well. I know I have much more to say, I would stay at this hotel again. The big chain hotels could learn from Frederic and how to serve the guests that visit their establishments.

The property was in an excellent location, near a metro stop and within walking distance of several nice restaurants. It’s an older building which means not everything is cookie cutter. You will find the rooms vary some, but everyone in my group was happy with their room. The staff was amazing. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and fun. The area where you have breakfast is inviting and nice to linger with friends. We even gathered in early evenings there to enjoy a glass of wine and relax. I cannot say enough nice things about the place.

The continental breakfast was lovely. We appreciated the delicious pastries, the pate and the salsa for the hard-boiled eggs. Very tasty. Carol was very attentive about asking us if we had any requests, and the staff was very gracious. We felt well looked after. I appreciated that we could control our thermostat. The shower was lovely. Our room was very quiet and peaceful, and tastefully decorated. The location is wonderful. I appreciated that the staff gave us ice when we requested it.

The soap in the shower dispenser was very low. The keurig coffee maker was great, but the pots of coffee at the breakfast were on the weak side. Those are my only complaints.

Charming and well-maintained hotel, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. It is well-located and easy to get to most sites of interest to tourists by public transit or on foot. The continental breakfast each morning had a generous variety of pastries, other breads or toast, fruit, juice, and coffee. We were happy with our choice.

As a personal preference we found the beds to be far too soft for comfort. Some people might prefer this, but we are not used to it, so it was hard to sleep. Although the hotel is air-conditioned, our room was very warm. When we mentioned this to the staff, they did something about it as soon as possible.

The Manoir Sherbrooke is a charming old style hotel with good sized bedrooms with en suite bathroom. There is a complimentary continental breakfast (cereals, yoghurt, boiled eggs, pastries, toast etc) which was fresh and plentiful. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly; nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Sherbrooke metro station so it is very easy to get around. There are plenty of local restaurants if you don’t fancy going into town every evening.

The hotel does not have an elevator, which might be a problem for some guests. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms (but hot drinks are available 24/7 in the breakfast room). Safety deposit boxes are not provided in the rooms, but valuables can be stored safely in Reception if required.

Friendly and helpful staff, gave us information about travel, music festivals, maps, where to park. Staff kept our luggage for us when we checked in early. Beds extremely comfortable, good shower in bathroom. Aircon much appreciated in hot humid weather. Breakfasts great with fresh fruit, nice cereal, breads and patisserie, plentiful tea, coffee and orange juice. Decor charming and atmospheric. Good location, we walked to the Vieux Port, Mont Royal etc etc Be sure to find the microbrasserie round the corner on Rue Prince Arthur!

Would have liked bigger towels, better lighting for reading. No bar, the wine sold by glass in reception is exorbitantly priced. No tea or coffee in rooms but always available from the restaurant. No lift, not a problem for us but this hotel would not suit anyone with reduced mobility.

Very friendly reception. Everyone here is extremely approachable and helpful (especially Esteban, Frederick and Carol) 🙂. Breakfast is very good and the lounge is open for guests all of the time with coffee etc. We were able to leave our luggage in storage on our final day after checkout until we were ready to get a taxi to the airport. We stayed here twice during our visit to Quebec and our rooms were very clean and ornate with antique features in this lovely old manor. It’s an old building with a lot of steps to climb inside and out, but it is well kept and has lovely features, with table and chairs in the front garden area. It has character 🙂. Free wifi and the location is within walking distance of the main attractions.

There is noise from the traffic outside…but it’s a main road, so difficult to do anything about that. There is no elevator, which might prove to be an issue for disabled guests. The shower did need temperature correction from time-to-time during use…one night there was no hot water for a while.

We loved the age and historic feel of this old mansion that's been converted into a boutique hotel. The location and proximity to Old Montreal, and transit stations can't be beat. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, and the breakfast was excellent with fresh and flaky croissants, delicious breads, yogurt, fruit salad, granola, boiled eggs, etc.

This hotel is located on Sherbrooke Street, which can get a little noisy with traffic during the daytime. There is no elevator, so it might be difficult for mobility impaired persons to reach their room.( 36 steps up to the third floor.) The twin bed mattresses could use some memory foam for a better sleep.

We like that this is an older style hotel, as it has much more character than a very modern building, and it is in a good position to access the town and Old port (either on foot or by Metro). The breakfast is continental, and makes an enjoyable start to the day. There is 24 hr access to tea and coffee in the Breakfast room. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return if in Montreal in the future.

There is no lift, as it is an older building. This didn’t affect us as we were in a lovely ground floor room, but some people might find this difficult. There was no tea/coffee maker in the room.
