Campanile Rennes Centre - Gare

The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful - I was advised to take an umbrella as rain was forecast. The receptionist who booked me in (sorry, didn't get her name) had impeccable English, and was very tactful about using it. The location, exactly opposite the SNCF station, as well as the metro and buses was ideal. Breakfast was varied. Very few hotels offer the option of boiling one's own egg. Wide variety of breads, jams, fruit etc, plus madeleine's and crepes. Much better lighting than most hotel rooms.Exc

Some grab rails in the shower and next to the toilet would improve things for people with reduced mobility, at very little extra cost.

Perfect location if you come by train, just across the street from the railway station. Decent breakfast, but they also cook food for you at any time -- this was great as I arrived at 2.30pm and all the restaurants in the city close at that time. The receptionist's communication style was a bit chill but the restaurant that she recommended to me was fabulous.

The elevators are annoyingly slow and the stairs are not accessible. My room was facing the street where the next building was a bar, so it was quite noisy till late in the night. For breakfast they put all cutlery in a glass handles down, so that you have to touch that part where you eat from - easy thing they could improve.

Great location opposite the train station but less than 10 mins walking from the shopping center and 15 from city center. The room is spacious and clean so is the bathroom. The staff is lovely and helpful - the nicest staff I met across hotels in Rennes surrounding the train station. The lounge area at the reception looks cosy and breakfast looks great too (I'm not a breakfast person).

No mini fridge is especially cumbersome in the summer.

Excellent location. Well kept common areas. Our room request was fulfilled. Polite and efficient staff. WiFi is good in the rooms. On checkout day you can telework from the restaurant, after breakfast, just ordering a hot drink. And you can play a game with the football table!!

Excellent value for price and maybe that's why the room is quite small, which is okay in general but a bit uncomfortable if you have two big suitcases.

The hotel, in general, was very nice. The entrance was modern, the breakfast was tasty (I especially liked the fruit salad and pancakes) and the location was great - just next to the train station. Our spacious room looked great, new and had modern facilities. It was very nice to work in the designated corner of the room. There was a water boiler and some coffee-tea. The WiFi was good also.

Just some not-so-important things to pick on. Cleanliness could be a bit better, for example, the walls. The breakfast was a bit confusing for a sleepy person (usually there is space for trays and clearer order) and the pastries were not very tasty.

Room clean and perfectly fine. Both good a/c and natural ventilation. Great location. right opposite the train station so really convenient for travel but no noise. In fact double glazed windows cut out any noise - and also open for ventilation. only 10 mins walk to the old quarter. A few nice cafes opposite for breakfast and a boulangerie right next door if you prefer to hotel breakfast. Smallish friendly hotel. Staff very friendly. Easy access but secure with an electronic card.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the lady on reception, who organised secure storage for our bikes. The hotel, and our room, were clean, spacious and comfortable. We chose to have breakfast too, which was plentiful and tasty with an excellent variety of choices. The hotel is well located, close to the gare and within easy walking distance of many of the town centre attractions. It was our first time in Rennes, what a beautiful city! We hope to return and spend more time here and we will not hesitate to stay at the Campanile again

The location and the room cleanness

The 2 staff when I checked in were not honest, I had enough cash to pay for the stay then they ( a man and a woman) asked for my bank card for what they called “verification” as I made the booking online. But when I checked out an other one told me that they will keep €62 from my bank card beside the €65 I already paid for the room to make sure that I did not damage anything. I hope that they will pay it back in full as soon as possible otherwise I will really not be happy and will surely show it.

I was very happy with my room! The room is very clean, and with a very big bathroom as well! And the staff was very helpful and answer my questions firendly! The hotel's location is also very good, it's only 1-2 minutets walking time from the train station. To city center is around 10-15 minutes by foot, which I find also very nice! If you want to stay in Rennes, don't miss out.

Great location near station. It had a bath! There was a kettle in the room but no fridge. There was a variety of cafes/ restaurants nearby. Breakfast was OK. Staff were friendly.

No fridge - we had to ask the staff for milk each day for our tea and sometimes had to pay 2 euro.
