Hotel Goldener Karpfen

Location, location, location! Its proximity to the Alte Stadt and the Johannisburg Schloss made it a great hotel for us! The bacon at breakfast was delicious! We liked having access to a lift to get our luggage up to the second floor.

Our 3 rooms were not near each other at all. We were not told at check-in that we'd have to pay for parking our car overnight.

Location is good for us, as we broke our long drive to the Czech Republic. Restaurant is very good indeed. Excellent food and wonderfully attentive waiters. Oh ... don't forget to buy some of the beers they make there. 6 bottles for €8.

One of the pillows was a bit "musty" Apart from that ... everything and everyone was fine.

The breakfast was good. I don't like the fact that booking.kom is telling me that some of the questions in this survey are bonus questions when it is me who's doing the favor by dilling it out. Please.. 'bonus question'?!

I didn't lile the fact that there's an extra fee for the parking. I would have liked a water boiler in the room, but I guess this is not standard in Germany.

We actually stayed at their sister hotel The Wilder Mann. We arrived earlier than expected and they upgraded us to room that was already available at the Wilder Mann. It was our last night in Germany and it was perfect............the staff, the room and the breakfast.

Location was changed - we were booked at the hotel over the road but lodged instead at Wilder Mann. Car park attached to hotel - good. Room was fine but a bit warm. Fan provided but not needed as once the sun went down, it was OK. Restaurant was very good. Breakfast the next morning - perfect.

Not much not to like - room was warm initially. Coped with it.

The room was just as expected...great value ...breakfast was good plenty of choice

No fridge In room which I think is a a basic...also no full length mirror and the fan was ok but needed to be bigger a desk fan just didn't do it

The hotel had excellent facilities, the staff were friendly and accommodating, the room size was large enough and comfortable, and the breakfast was plentiful and there was a lot of variety. The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance to most locations.

Nothing, had a great stay!

First of all: we took an upgrade to be sure of a quiet room and so they put us in the Wilder Mann on the other side of the street (same owners). Good room, not far from the old town and the river 5' away. Excellent breakfast buffet. Restaurant and bar downstairs.

Upgraded to the Billy Wilder Hotel across the street. Nice view of the inner courtyard from our room. Large bed that was comfortable. Tiny bathroom with a shower. Breakfast was fine with several options. Good location for easy walking to restaurants, shops, and crossing the river.

Room was a bit outdated and bathroom was tiny.

It was a bit too hot in the room, but the hotel isnt responsible for the wheather.
