Hotel Goldener Löwe

Breakfast was excellent, nice choice with some local products, good selection of beverages and bread, everything fresh and tasty. Location is fantastic for sightseeing, most tourist attractions within walking distance. Municipal parking just at the hotel’s back door is a great asset. Meissen is a beautiful historic place, I highly recommend it for a long weekend and if I ever come back Goldener Loewe will be my first choice. One advice: if you do not feel like climbing numerous stairs up the castle hill, there is a very convenient lift close to the castle parking :).

Service at the front desk: two ladies were charming and most helpful. The gentleman who checked us in was rather impatient and kind of irate. Perhaps not very happy to serve Polish guests.

The hotel is super placed in Meissen, and has a touch of old style, too, which is very nice.

Despite pandemics and having a large bar and terrace they insisted in keeping breakfast in an airless room below stairs. Also since they have so many stairs within one floor puting a simple board to enable luggage to be dragged is a very simple idea which could help a lot. Parking needs beung paid seperately.

Location in the very middle of the town, parking nearby (paid, but affordable). Good breakfasts. Nice old-fashioned place with a story.

There was very loud public party with disco music on Kleinmarkt on Friday till late night - our room had windows at this side and we could not sleep until the party was over. There was no such problem on Thursday night so maybe it was just bad luck.

Unbeatable location, just in the city center with everything being super close. Parking is next to the hotel. Rich breakfasts, even with Sekt :) Helpful staff. Baby bed and electric kettle can be provided upon request. Our room had no air conditioner, but we were able to change it (for a reasonable fee). Definitely recommended!

Great breakfast with hot items such as sausages and eggs, including complementary self service prosecco. Amazingly large room by European standards with space to spread out including a sitting area. Not sure if this was an upgrade or just the room we booked, but we were VERY impressed with the room overall. Exposed wooden beams and stonework gave the room a very authentic old-world charm. Comfortable bed. Very friendly and attentive staff. Fast internet.

Noisy bar across the street, but it closed at a reasonable hour. Closing the soundproof windows resulted in stuffy room with no fresh air. Room appeared to have climate control, but cool air did not come out. Only a fan that recirculated the air already in the room. Second night was much cooler so we were able to open up the windows after the street noise died down. WiFi also required logging in every few hours.

More than perfect localisation in the old town center :) Very nice climate of old building, beautiful interiors. Great restaurant on the ground floor. One of the best hotels I've ever been to.

The room where we had breakfast was a bit too hot, airless. But the breakfast itself was great! ;) There weren't a lot of places for bicycles, but I can understand that (old building in the center).

A lovely well equiped hotel right in the historic centre ,lots of parking nearby , loads of places to eat and drink although the food is very good in the hotel as well. The staff looked after us very well and the manager is very nice and friendly and well informed of the local area

Great location, clean, very good breakfast, friendly service, comfortable beds - nothing to add

The price could be a little bit better and the restaurant / menu would have more choice, including desserts - but this is not a disadvantage but a slight suggestion. If there will be a free room next time, I will definitely use it again

Location was excellent. Room was quiet. Off street parking provided was secure though an added cost.

A lot of stairs to get to reception and the room. Small room which was cramped. Limited luggage space.

Location was so convenient. Breakfast was really nice.

Room was a little dark, but that is hard to avoid in the winter in Germany. Needed few more outlets for electronics for two people.
