Altamont West Hotel

As a European for breakfast you could have an English or Irish breakfast included ie bacon egg hash brown mushrooms tomato pork sausage all included as a breakfast! Instead of just giving to bacon to eggs or one hash brown and charging a dollar each extra for one egg or bacon extra etc

In food wise if people were asked had they enough? Instead of being charged for asking for what they should have got in the beginning! They would be tipping the staff more instead of thinking they were being told to do so!

Staff was friendly, rooms were clean

Excellent location, friendly, always smiling staff. The interior and atmosphere are relaxing. Employees maintaining cleanliness and well-being. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hotel is very conveniently located, within walking distance to the beach, parks, shops, cafes, casinos, etc. Breakfast was included in the price, it was hearty and there was a choice. Incredible views from the veranda of the hotel.

Due to the fact that cafes and bars are nearby, the music played very loudly in the evenings, one evening it continued until three in the morning.

The whole resort is very clean. Attention to detail. DECOR IS FANTASTIC, everywhere you looked interesting. Breakfast was satisfying and enough, No buffet needed. Service great. Cleaned rooms very quickly. Nice lounge area outside dining area with seating. Bar nice selection of drinks, prices ok Pool nice, but they work on keeping it clean though lots tress send leaves in.. Front Porch area great for looking at ocean, good seating,. . At end of hip strip- can walk up to restaurants, shops, across from beach area. Will stay there again as come few time year to Jamaica .Great if been to Negril/Ocho Rios and want to be closer to airport night before as traffic from there can cause you to miss flights. WORTH IT.

Piano needs sign ADULTS ONLY!!!!!!!!!! -as kids really pounding it, drinks spilled on it, food fell in and were trying pull up keys to get to it. etc. Parents not saying anything. Pool could use a few more lounge chairs (new ones). AT least 4. Need to have a sign at bar if has a minimum number drinks/cost to be able to use a credit card. Just wanted 1 tried to pay no, ned at least 2, then after ordered 2nd , went to pay nope not $$ enough so had to get a 3rd. And door into dining area shows an AX label but dont accept. Need to remove it.

extremely well thought out for the needs of travellers… ironing board, iron, hairdryer, microwave, fridge, USB wall sockets, toiletries all in the room. breakfast was amazing. room was exceptionally clean (yes I run the finger dust test along the top of the mirrors and not a speck!) very happy would definitely stay again.

Room decor could be updated.

Staff is very professional, helpful and friendly. I love the collection of artwork and the various historical pictures throughout the hotel. Soothing music sets the ambience. Room facilities were excellent. Cleaning was professional and very timely. The hotel is located where there is easy access to many restaurants and recreational areas.

More available food options at hotel restaurant. Some items on the menu were not available at the time of my visit. Wifi dropped a few times or was very slow during my stay.

Keisha here... I love love the location of the hotel. They are directly across from the beautiful beach... when you wake up to that amazing view and go to bed with the best sunset.... It was amazing..definitely I will be going back to the Alfamont West Hotel.

Their portion size for the food could have been a bit bigger... and they can also try to incorporate breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all-inclusive....but overall the place is great...great staff....very helpful 😋

They may need to up their pest control. we saw 2 small roaches in our room. we was too embarrassed to mention it

Loved the hotel layout and history. We’ll maintained and nice artwork and seating throughout. Used the pool and the breakfast that was included was very good. Also swam at local beach that is right across the street. Very close to food and shopping. Loved the history of the hotel as well.

We were there in July so the open air seating was a little hot but the ceiling fans were helpful. I actually really enjoyed it but think that for some tourist unaccustomed to heat might prefer fully air conditioned location in heat of summer.

The rooms exceeded my expectations. We had a double too. Twin beds. Fantastic staff both day and night from. reception to the guards persons Loved the breakfast. Pool/ pool area was clean and comfortable on the yellow cushion. Thanks again for making us all feel extremely welcome and totally at home ...from reception John/ Monet/ Derrick etc so many names I'm unable to list all here.

Cockroaches in the bedroom. They were dealt with thoroughly and promptly by staff. Source was from the front of the property near a damp area with an external bin. Sun loungers needed cushions. Breakfast choice was slightly mean in portion size and options I.e no vegan. Bed was rickety
