SAVV HOTEL

Hotel SAVV is a fairly new Hotel in Georgetown and is very much a hidden gem located by the Clan Jetties and close to the Jetty bus and ferry terminal. The hotel is located within the UNESCO world heritage zone of historic Georgetown and within easy walking distance of all of the world heritage site attractions including the local street art, local food courts, Restaurants, and little India. The Hotel is very comfortable with all the facilties you basically need, I stayed in a Cabin room which designed for single occupancy with a single bed but the room is more than large enough and comfortable for a solo traveller. I like in particular the electronic do not disturb / please make up room signs which you can switch on within the room. All the Hotel Staff are very professional, Helpful, friendly, and approachable. The Breakfast is good, and is cooked on an individual basis for each guest. The Breakfast menu is available when you check in and can be varied for each day of your stay, which is cooked and served outside on the terrace. The Hotel is good value for Money and is good for both Business and leisure travellers. This Hotel can definately compete with the more expensive Hotels with higher star ratings at a more reasonable cost. The Hotel staff and the Malaysian Hospitality here is wonderful, especially the wonderful May who took care of Breakfast during my stay. If you are looking to stay in the Georgetown area and you find this Hotel is available for the dates you require for a reasonable price, don't hesitate, this Hotel is getting very popular, Just book it.

There is nothing to dislike.

For a small niche hotel, pleasantly surprised by the professional and very friendly staff. Smooth check-in process. Room is nicely sized with all the standard amenities one can expect of a proper hotel. Worth noting that the water at property is drinkable from the tap, a great feature that I highly appreciate in Malaysia. Lobby is staffed only until 8PM, but the security on guard is exceptionally helpful. I had mosquitoes in my room (likely because I naturally am a mosquito magnet) but it was already midnight so I trudged down to the security guard for help, and like a genie in a bottle he provided me with a mosquito UV lamp device that worked like magic. Silly me forgot to pack USB charging cables, friendly front desk staff happily lent me theirs. Thumbs up for the excellent and friendly service, SAVV team! Do stock up on those effective mosquito lamps! :)

Absolutely nothing major. Noise insulation isn't great, I could hear all the conversations outside and the showers/toilet flushes from adjacent rooms. Honestly I was not at all bothered, but if you're an extremely light sleeper then just so you know.

A wonderful experience. Three years after my first stay here, its good to know that standards have been maintained. The staff are as helpful and courteous as ever, ranging from the exquisite May in the breakfast venue (her infectious humour and smiling demeanour always lifted spirits) to James and Keerthi on the front desk. Nothing was too much trouble, whether calling taxis or printing out boarding passes for onward travel (an unexpected email from management confirmed the latter). The pool was a nice touch too.

The only downside was the noise from my room, which looks out onto a busy street below. A friend gave me some earbuds to help with that though I later found out they had some at reception. Having to pre-book your breakfast choice and time of eating the night before is not ideal, though it does mean make catering easier for SAVV, so its understandable.

Hotel went beyond what was expected. Early check-in, although never promised, was honoured as soon I made mention of my request when I had booked. Was out of local currency on a Sunday and was unable to pay a food bill in a nearby restaurant that did not accept credit cards. I explained the problem to the receptionist and was given cash (on trust without even signing for it). I paid the restaurant and settled the hotel later that day. All I can say is WOW! Customer experience is superb.

Rooms are made up late in the afternoon.

I liked everything about this hotel. The beds are super comfortable, the best we have experienced in KL. The room was a great size with a very nice bathroom, and had fantastic uninterrupted views of the sea. There is also filtered water in the tap which is unusual and so good to have. I loved the garden area which was a nice spot to have a drink from the bar in the evening. There are lots of eating places very close and the bus stop for the free CAT bus is not far away. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and helpful.

Nothing, it's great

Very friendly and professional staff, beautiful room. Especially loved the cabin window. The double filtered tap water was a nice feature. All in all great – hoping to be back soon!

The one thing that should be improved is the wifi signal – constantly gets lost and is too weak in the room. Difficult to work with such internet connection, let alone videocall. Also there's currently heavy construction going on right next to the pool area, but obviously not sth the hotel can do anything about...just good to know beforehand.

Room was good, location convenient. Lady at the front desk was such a nice person and ever so helpful. I was waiting in the lobby for some time and observed the way she handled hotel guests - kind, professional and over and above helpfulness. Any hotel would be lucky to find someone with her spirit of hospitality!

perfect location, lots of things in walking distance, friendly staff, nice big single room with ocean view, toothbrush and toothpaste, mini fridge, free postcard at check-in, local food court right next to the hotel,

unfortunately the wifi didn’t work very well

The staff were very friendly and efficient. Angel at reception was fantastic..nothing was too much trouble and May at breakfast looked after us very well. Loved the pool area and being able to have the pool to ourselves. The housemaids were very good as well as friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights there. Easy access to the bus station enabled us to easily make day trips to various locations with ease.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Great location 10 mins walk from the ferry and close to everything else George Town has to offer. Top floor room was extra large and had great view across the sea and city. Staff were friendly. Very clean and modern room.

Pool was small. Had some road noise from road at front.
