Ropewalk Piazza Hotel by PHC

Fantastic accommodation. Spacious and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff and a perfect location to explore Georgetown. There are so many great places to eat within a short walking distance, that you are kind of overwhelmed by the choice. Everything you need and really quick responses to any maintenance/cleaning requests. Reception is 24 hrs Comfy bed and linen.

There is definitely a noise issue from the outside. In our case the Dream hotel on the opposite corner has a rooftop bar and would insist on playing loud music late at night. On the final night they went on until 5am, keeping me awake. PHC management really need to address this, either by forcing the hotel not noise pollute so late at night or install secondary glazing that is better soundproofed. We were unable to open the window shutters to let in daylight in the morning, which was unfortunate. TVs are not Smart so no option to use streaming services. There are lots of cheap add on gadgets that would allow this and would be a good addition. The only other thing we would have appreciated was a choice of pillows. All the pillows were too firm for us.

Wonderful stay, great & very central location, clean and good facilities. They upgraded me and my teenaged daughter to a 2-bedroom suite which was excellent as she got to have her own room. Friendly and extremely helpful staff especially Nurul who helped us make a call when my phone didn't work. Rooms were clean, spacious and beds comfortable. Kitchenette was a good size. Great to have a microwave and fridge. + they have a coffee machine with good coffee at reception. Easy access to shopping and food. Prangin Mall is just across the street, less than a 3-minute walk. Food is just around the corner with coffee shops close serving yummy food like famous Tiger char kuey teow, beef noodles, steamed kaya buns, dim sum. Night food hawker style also just nearby plus restaurants etc.

The toilet stank a bit. I think it was because there was leakage so no matter how many times you flush it, there was a smell. Windows are not soundproof so you can hear noise clearly from the street below. It is a 2-storey building. One night at 2+am, there were people talking v loudly along the street and I could hear them clearly. Also, the windows cannot be opened so the master bedroom was very dark and you have to turn on all the lights. Not complaining but could improve in these 2 areas. I will still stay there again!

The hotel is located 10-15 min of walk from the unesco zone. Personel was very nice and helpful, I got all support needed. The appartment itself is very convenient- it has a completely separate entrance and consists of two bedrooms with big comfy beds, a living room connected with small kitchen and a nice bathroom. It is equipped with all you need: a dryer, iron, keytle, microwave, cosmetics, brush, even sewing kit! AC works perfectly. We spent a very nice time there and we would recommend it to everyone

Great facilities and incredibly comfortable bed. The staff were lovely and helpful. Good location in George Town, near street food and cultural sites, but also the malls. I had more than enough room to do what I wanted and needed. Direct, external access to rooms is wonderful.

All of the internal doors seem to be heavy fire doors that wouldn’t stay open, so was annoying when starting and ending the day when moving to and from the bedroom. The outside noise travels in easily, and my room was closest to speakers at the nearby mosque, so you’ll hear the call to prayer every morning - but it only lasts 5-10 mins.

Location right in the city center. Shopping malls just across the road. Many tourist spots and eateries nearby...some are within walking distance. Clean & comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchenette.

Nothing major...just some small inconveniences: - No car park provided. - An 8-digit passcode at the entrance door (gets really annoying when you have to key in every single time to get into the room).

Very convenient! Located just next to Prangin Mall and Komtar. Walking distance to art murals. Our 2 bedrm apt are on top of shophouses. Unique stay experience & our 3 teens love it! There is a sofabed good for 2 to sleep. Love that living room comes with sink & microwave. Free wifi. We don need the tv. And can order Grabfood 😁 Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday in Penang!

No lift. No designated carpark provided. Luggages have to be carried up the stairs. Beds are on a soft side. There is a pub below near our master bedroom and songs can be heard but we are ok with that.

The homy feeling with private entrance to each unit. Facilities provided are complete for short term stay. Nearby to many interesting place in Georgetown. What makes it even grest was an excellent hospitality we received from the hotel team, Husin (apologies if wrongly spelled) from the moment we checked in and through out our 3 days stay. All necessary preparation were also communicated well through Agoda messages before arrival date.

Looking for parking space nearby the hotel can be an issue during day time on working days and all day long during weekends. But if you don't mind to walk a bit, there are many street side open parking space available. Parking fee RM0.80/hour on weekdays from 8am to 6pm. The stair going to the rooms is quite steep and not for those with weak knees.

Walking distance to many good eateries, mall and attractions. Spacious room. King size bed. Hot rain shower. Has Iron & ironing board, microwave & fridge. Umbrella. One tv in main bedroom, another one in living room. Check in is easy, keyless room just enter passcode.

Take note: no parking provided but lots of street parking, free on saturday and sunday. We went on not peak weekend, easy to get parking when we get back before 8pm. Prepare rm 200 cash for deposit, may also use credit card.

The rooms were spacious, and is conveniently located across from Prangin Mall. It is only a very short walk to Terminal Komtar bus station. Rooms are well cleaned, and having two separate bedrooms is great for groups of travellers that might want more privacy.

Only thing is that there are some stairs to access all apartments - this might not be the best option for visitors with injured knees etc.

We enjoyed the hotel. Great location. Good value for money.

On our last night there was a long period of noise ( hours not minutes) which sounded like drunken people in the street. This is not the hotels fault but I was surprised nobody small the police. The AC often turned off during night for some reason. I would wake up hot and have to turn it back on.
