El Cozumeleño Beach Resort - All Inclusive

The beach is nice and easy for snorkeling because there are no big waves. There is a good amount of beach seating with umbrellas. The pools are nice and there are many workers keeping everything clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The food was alright. They only have one main restaurant for all meals. The variety was okay, but not many choices at all for vegetarians or vegans. You can make a reservation at the "fancier" restaurant starting at 8am each morning. There were more choices there. The "alcoholic" beverages were WAY too sweet - in fact, it tasted like they had used a sugar replacer (like stevia). If there was any alcohol in them, I certainly couldn't taste it. I finally just ordered wine or beer because the taste of those drinks was as expected. The other thing to be aware of - the price that is quoted on booking.com is not what you actually pay. They added several fees and tax which added almost $140 to the bill for three nights.

Fine dining food in dining room was perfect plating, service was great, food was not very hot all 4 of us sent back to heat up 3 times out of 7. Having to wait in line to make reservation for dinner is pain had to be in line by 7am to get reservations which didn't open till 8am. Check in very slow for having reservations. Nice place but a little outdated sure covid has taken a toll, entertainment was lacking from previous trips. And to all who read this post you need to tip these folks for every meal, every drink, or anything you ask them to do. They make $8.00/day as a wage, what you would spend spend for a couple of beers. Take care of them please

super friendly stuff, everything is clean, plenty of vegetarian food choices, the ocean view from our room was fantastic. The beach was kept super clean and was the prettiest one on that strip. Great snorkeling. Food: They no longer have a buffet, everything is a la carte. Even though they give you 3 different menus for breakfast , lunch and dinner, I suggest you take a picture of them, as you can order anything that's on all of those 3 menus any time of the day. We're vegan/vegetarian, so had to mix and match a lot. Don't miss the morning fruit smoothies from the bar.

there was a big tropical cockroach 2 nights in a row in the bathroom. We resolved that problem by keeping the lights on in the bathroom. The rooms are slightly dated, but super clean. The 'dated' part didn't bother us at all. I assume that's what keeps the room price lower. We walked through the neighboring hotels, and ours had the prettiest beach and most attractive territory.

Staff continously cleaning hotel and dining area under the supervision of Gabriel. Gabriel does excellent job.

Room furniture and bathroom fixtures need updating. Room trash cans need trash bags.

I have been staying here for years. you get the best bang for your buck. the rooms are spacious. the shower is huge. the staff is amazing. the waiters are wonderful, especially , Paulino, Carlos, Santiago, Manuel, and the restaurant manager Gabriel. the front desk were friendly everytime you walked by them . the food is great and I was happy to find out that they changed the menus every two days. the pool is stunning and the views were impeccable. I have stayed no where else on the island and will stay no where else. I stayed for 6 night and I felt the love from the staff every day!!!

Friendly helpful staff. Absolutely beautiful view (upgraded to sea view from garden view as seems to be a common theme from reviews, particularly if during a quiet period - Much appreciated either way). Definitely book for dinner in the restaurant - No joke the bread + pesto= HEAVENLY, I swear the waiters were tired of me and my friend requesting more and more. We were only there 2 nights and it was an unusual place for backpackers to stay but actually quite an enjoyable experience and a nice break to have the all inclusive break, pools, sunbathing, drinks, snorkelling etc after moving nearly every day and dragging our backpacks about. Also the tour we booked for the boat trip for the day = fantastic!

The rooms themselves are a bit dated, though not something that should bother people that much. The birds in the outside restaurant & the lack of hygiene that correlates with this = not at all good. Staff were trying but they just got through the barriers (maybe enclosing the space would just be better :S ) but definitely saw a fair amount of them stealing food from the buffet where people left the lid off.

There was two staff members that weren't nice at all, the guy in the pool towels with tattoed face yelled at me and the old man at the varanda restaurant who greets guests was very unfriendly and rude, there they assigned us a table with out a fan or AC and was a hot day, we left. The bed wasn't very soft but not very stiff

Beach, drinks, food

Loved the beach and the snorkeling on the rocks right in front of the hotel. Best direct snorkeling from a beach that I have ever experienced. There are several pools as well, so plenty of places for kids and adults to play and relax. Would return again, in particular for ease of snorkeling. Service, with exception of front desk, was very good. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Facilities perhaps a little dated, but very comfortable and clean.

Check-in took an hour and a half. It was a very slow and frustrating process. Check out too requires returning keys, locks, towel cards, so expect another potential wait. Hope that they can improve their check-in and check-out processes, as it really dampens experience. Food at buffet was ordinary to poor. Breakfast was fine, with egg station. Lunch and dinner were pretty bad, lots of cut up hot dog in the pasta dishes, labeled as ham, etc. Desserts at lunch and dinner were good though. Compared to a few other all-inclusives in Mexico, I would say food was below average, with exception of desserts. (However, price also was below-average, so really can't complain.)
