Hotel Bristol

The breakfast was phenomenal. The concierge - who deserves a raise - went above and beyond to help us and is single-handedly elevating the customer service of the hotel. The desserts in the cafe were fantastic. Room and specifically the bed was quite comfortable. There were a few key receptionists that were cheerful, enthusiastic and helpful. With a few tweaks would be a true luxury hotel.

Firstly, it's not actually a 5-Star hotel. There are no real valets nor bell-hops. The receptionists when available do their best to help - but it is incorrectly rated on booking.com as its actually a 4-Star. Parking was overly expensive at $55/day. I slipped and fell from a quite dangerous step in the bathroom on a waxed wooden floor and really hurt myself with extensive bruising and the receptionist at that time that I mentioned it too basically expressed indifference and made no effort of trying to resolve the problem - eg suggesting a mat or alternative solution.

quite busy, the front desk felt like a train station. half the hotel is located at 1/2 a floor up or down so you have 8 steps to get there.

Try not to get a room on 7th floor... if you have a lot of luggage, although they do offer help. Intercom wait times are insane.

The AC does not work properly

The Hotel Bristol Oslo was a perfect choice for our week long stay in Oslo and also for a further 2 nights a few weeks later. After arriving from a long flight from Australia we were welcomed with smiling faces at reception and a pleasant comfortable room. The breakfast here is one of the best I have eaten, fresh and fabulous, the staff attentive and experienced in all areas of the hotel. The location of the hotel is good for walking to most of the sights in the city, to cafes and restaurants, historic landmarks and to the harbour. Oslo in summer is full of good cheer. The vibe is present in Hotel Bristol also along with glamour and comfort.

This hotel was so lovely, it's got a very rich and historic feel, and it's just a block up from Karl Johans gate, the scenic main street leading up to the royal palace. We arrived by train and walked up to the hotel, but we could have also taken the streetcar. The room felt newly redone, it was spacious and quiet and very clean. The breakfast was epic, easily the best of the trip and maybe ever, it was just one station after another of beautiful food--platters of smoked salmon and cheese and cold cuts, eggs every way, fruit and yogurt options galore, baskets of fresh pastries and croissants with local butter and all sorts of different preserves, really it had absolutely everything, and it was so gorgeously presented and expertly staffed. The dining room was huge so it didn't matter what time you went to breakfast, you'd get a table immediately. The staff was warm and so accommodating, the hotel was like a sanctuary to come home to at the end of a long day of sightseeing. I'd happily stay here again and I dream of that breakfast!!

Perfect location, walking distance to everything, but away from the fray. Beautiful lobby and common spaces. The hotel has an old-world feel and I often saw non-guests waiting in quite long lines to eat at the hotel restaurants. I was given a quiet, interior room (as requested) that had plenty of space for one person. The heated bathroom floor is a great touch.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful, and on par with any great hotel breakfast around the world, but a 7:00am start time could use some work. As a business traveler, I might have enjoyed breakfast closer to 6:00am. Also, the gym left a little to be desired: no locker rooms. How about a sauna? That would've been a treat!

Perfect central location, very comfortable and very little noise. Cosy and comfortable atmosphere in the bar area/library. Great for reading and relaxing or informal meetings without being disturbed by music or other people's noise. The breakfasts are legendary - so much choice. The light snacks in the bar and library were of excellent quality and the staff were very polite and helpful at all times.

There was a problem with the hotel Wi-Fi during my stay which persisted over 3 - 4 days and made a number of platforms and apps difficult to use. The hotel staff we very apologetic and worked hard to solve the problem.

Very clean rooms. Awesome breakfast (variety + great quality). Great location, in the centre of the city. Nice atmosphere, nicely designed interior, beautiful bar and restaurant areas. Good price, for a central 4 stars hotel. Overall, by modern standards, the hotel might need some upgrades and improvements, to bring it to the 21st century. But for a 100 years old central hotel, at THIS price, it's a great place.

TV in the room located in an uncomfortable for watching position. They only offer valet parking, so someone else will be driving your car. Some areas (mainly halls) have an old and not fresh smell (probably old ventilation systems...)
