Thon Hotel Spectrum

The hotel is very close to the Central Station and Opera house. The staff were all really friendly. The room was spotlessly clean and the fridge was very welcome. Best of all was the breakfast! What an amazing choice and all so delicious.

We were on the 5th floor at the front of the hotel. The room was lovely but we had a velux window above the bed. The room was really warm and we like to have the window open a little for some fresh air but it was extremely noisy from people leaving the bars etc until about 4am. We also got snowed on in bed! If you’re staying I’d suggest not the 5th floor and maybe at the back of the hotel.

1) Bathroom is very small especially shower ------ Here are small notes for future guests (it's not a cons, just notes): - Parking isn't free (I assume it's usual for Norway) – Spectrum parking on the next street (2 minutes by walk). 24 hours costs approximately 20-30 euros. Can be paid automatically with transponder (for rental cars only) - There're some bars and a club near the hotel. So, it's a little bit noisy. It can be a problem If your sleep bad and you awake from any sounds (by the way, I slept well)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Stayed here for 2 nights on the 5th floor with a street view. It was very hot in Oslo during our stay, and there was no air conditioning in the hotel room, but the lady receptionist brought a fan. Location is walking distance to the city center. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices.

Location: There were lots of homeless and drunk people roaming around the street where the hotel is located They didn't bother us but it wasnt a nice sight to see, it made us uneasy. Room: There were stains on the bathroom sink when we checked into the room. No problem, I just wiped them away - perhaps it was overlooked. I had to use a chair to put my cpap (sleeping gadget) next to my bed. The chair under the table was dusty, a shame really.

- Best breakfast ever!!! I’m a very picky eater and they had everything and more than I could even imagine (eggs, salmon, cheese, fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, pancakes, oatmeal porridge, a delicious banana compote, amazing bread, smoothies, etc, etc). - The personnel was very friendly as all Norwegians are. - Great location, 10 min walk to the train and bus station, opera, Munch museum. - Spacious room and bathroom. Bed comfortable. - They have coffee, tea, and some croissants at the lobby.

- The only thing I can think of is that I stayed in 2 different rooms in different dates and neither of them had hand soap in the bathroom so I had to grab soap from the shower.

Absolutely everything! From the moment we arrived, Silje, the lovely receptionist asked us whether we'd prefer a high or a low level, and ended up giving us a very cosy attic style room. The breakfast was to die for! Everything and anything you can imagine and all good quality products! The gym, spotless and very well equipped. The reception team extremely kind and helpful. We left at 5am and they had a breakfast pack ready for us! The hotel is very near the station and the Opera and all other points of interest in Oslo. Highly recommend Thon Spektrum!! 9pm

Loved everything

the location was centrally located. the room looked fine for two people online and it was more than enough for a city trip. the breakfast very good with a lot of choices, even a fresh orange juice machine. the staff was super friendly and welcoming

next time I would ask for a room that lies to the back of the street as it was very noisy during the evening/ night, as the room had its windows towards the street with some pubs, bars with music and therefore drunk people making a lot of noises at night (with windows open or closed). the location is ideal to walk from everywhere to the center but not far from there were some not so neatly looking streets

Great location, great staff, good breakfast

Bed was a bit on the soft side. Big issue I have with the hotel is that they claim to have parking, but as with many other hotels on Booking.com they don't actually have parking on site, it is 3rd party nearby which has nothing to do with the hotel apart from being nearby. Why Booking.com accepts this (again not just this hotel but in general) is one of the biggest issues I have with Booking.com, they make enough money on hotels to verify what the hotels claim.

We were really happy with. The beds were super comfortable, good commodities, and a huge window. Staff really helpful and friendly I could even do a quick fix to my sunglasses. Really good breakfast with a good variety. The location is really good, restaurants and pubs just in the door, but not noise in the rooms. 5 minutes to train station and main street, 10 minutes to the opera House and many tram lains pretty much in the door.

The mushrooms in the breakfast were not amazing, if I had to say something

The staff were EXCELLENT! I had an issue with medication that need to be kept cold, part of it frozen, and they went out of their way to help, most especially the young lady that helped find everything at 5:30 in the morning and made us lunch so we could take with us for amour day with NIN!! Any questions requests were answered with a smile and quick response! LOVE THEM!

We did experience the “music” from bar next door but it really was not that bad and all done by 11/12pm.

Very good location. Close to the centre of Oslo, the port and the railway station. Lively bars in the street by the hotel. Room was compact but very comfortable and had everything we needed, including fridge, kettle, iron, TV and great Bluetooth speaker. We were very impressed with the fabulous breakfast included in the price. That couldn’t be bettered.

We were above the bars and there was quite a lot of noise from the street. I would have slept better without that.
