Astoria Palawan

Rooms are big with all the ammenities needed. Bed is also very comfty and everything clean and new. Terrasse in front of the room is nice for snack, apero or just to relax. Breakfast in the morning has plenty of options and food is very nice. Also the free option for one entry at the water park is nice. There are kayaks, SUP or bikes at disposal for free and three different pools.

Check-in process is very long and complicated. They recently opened a new building and moved the check-in there, with the old checkin only for check-outs. As in many hotels in the Philippines staff is super friendly but rather incompetent and super process-oriented. Restaurant takes forever, so order at least 45min in advance to be sure to get it on time. Despite zero waves and only knee-deep water the "lifeguards" don't leave you in the water. Everyone uses a different excuse "jellyfish", "sharp rocks" or dangerous shells. It seems that they just don't want anyone in the sea not to bother watching people there. Also the pool was not cleaned. There was a slimy cover on all stones and areas in the pool. I guess the pump was not working.

Shuttle service to airport charged. Also hotel is charging full rates but a large portion of its facilities are closed due to the damage by Decembers Typhoon I stayed late March and still a huge amount of work to do. However I have rated highly. They are working hard to make repairs. But you should be warned. If you have kids the water park is currently closed along with quite few other bits.

Your assistant resort manager (Andy), Chef (Ramos), reception (all of them) tour desk receptionist (all of them) basically all of them were just amazing, fantastic, hospitality was a different level, most of Astoria staffs is everywhere. Never seen such a great staff anywhere in the world I stayed before. Thank you and lastly Andy should be promoted hahahahaa 🙏🏼

The people worked in Astoria

If you want to relax, not only your body, but also your soul, in my opinion, Filipino hospitality is the best you cannot find. Astoria Palawan received me and my family not as guests, but as a long-awaited family that lives somewhere far away and decided to visit their home! The children had a real holiday and I had some long needed rest. Also, the massage at Astoria will also be hard to forget! To be honest, I have no words and ratings for these guys and this place! I just began to regret that before I have never been there before! Individually, I would like to say thank you for a few of the many Astoria Palawan Family members that made our stay unforgettable; Dear Mr. Jowen Bulos; You have always made sure that our stay is trouble free !!! Dear Mr. Albert, you are Astoria's calling card; thank you for the mood and delicious food !!!!! Dear Ms. Rea, your smile at breakfasts and hospitality energized the whole day! Dear Mr. Justine Dagapioso; the life guard who works in the water park, you made my children happy, and most importantly they were safe, You are a master of all trades, thank you for the cool videos and photos that you absolutely free of charge offered to do for our entire family !!!! And of course, the person who struck me was Mr. Oscar near the main pool (which, by the way, there are many in Astoria and it's very convenient!!!) Dear Mr. Oscar, You are a real talent! Mr. Oscar knows how to make toys from coconut palm leaves! it's unique! The children just loved them and took them all back home. I also want to say a huge thank you to the manager who gave us the water park pass, the children were extremely happy !!!!!! In short Astoria you are not real. I apologize for the people that I did not mention personally; You are all just amazing!

You have to the only thing I do not recommend , it is a cocktail called dirty mensi😂🍸and everything else is just super! Dirty mnsi is an acquired taste cocktail... with a worm 🍸+🐛 = 😮

All staff members were nice, helpful and always had a smile on their face. The facility is modern and well designed. Food was delicious and options were big! We liked it so much that we visited some other places over the weekend and came back to stay for another week. They have live music / entertainment every night. They also offer some free activity like snorkeling, kayaking or salsa classes during the day. Staying with Astoria Palawan includes one time (day ticket) entrance to their waterpark which is super fun. All in all the hotel is clean, staff is friendly and pools are super nice for swimming or just relaxing.

The location is quite far away from everything. A shuttle service (less expensive) to the city would be nice. If they would have a nice spa that would make it even better to stay with them :) Tours and airport pick-up/drop-off could be a little bit less pricy. Babysitter service was something we were missing too

Food was amazing. All buffet, all delicious and had a wide range of options Best part was the staff - all courteous and very accommodating Rooms were spacious and clean as you see in the photos There's free use of the recreational facilities (karaoke for an hour, ping pong, video games) Free 1-day access to the water park where of course the food were ridiculously priced Dinner entertainment - fire dancing, acoustic performance For the price I think I got most from the breakfast buffet and the really good rooms.

We couldn't swim in the beach! Red flag warning maybe because of the waves. The pools were ok not stellar (surfaces sticky? and could have been designed better for Astoria), the beach was inaccessible - not technically their fault but it was too bad because I booked Astoria to have both the pool and the beach. If you enjoy swimming in the sea better than the pool, this might not be the option for you.

Facilities: The place is amazing. They have almost everything you need from kayak activities, pools, gym and spa up to the very basic ones like laundry facilities and restaurant. Definitely one of the best resorts I've booked. Food: The buffet breakfast is definitely one of the most amazing I've had compared to other resorts I've been to. The dinner one is also good. It is a little pricey though. Staff: Very accommodating and professional. 👍 It is easy to get ahold of anyone in case of emergencies (My father needed a BP check and their response is very prompt.) Location: 1h from the main city. It's a little far from PPS itself so touring the city while staying here is more like a separate day activity.

lights in the room were so dark, was very dim also in the toilet there's only one chair in our room and there's three of us. I requested for one more so we can eat seated in the room but the chair wasnt delivered in our room. you can only eat in the restaurant for buffet other orders are served in the rooms cant bring food in water park even if you bought it from their covenience store no hand wash gel in the toilet can hear loud noises in the room limited tv channels drinks were a bit pricey bites from sand flies

This one 5 starts hotel near Puerto Princesa. But I am not sure that we can call it 5 start hotel in our regular understanding. But let me start with the advantages : * big layout with a lot of activities : fire show in the evening, there is a small water park, good restaurant, there are much space to walk. * friendly staff * nice reception zone and beautiful territory

The beach was closed while we were staying in the hotel. Guard said that this is because jelly fish season, but I believe that they had managed to do something if they would have wanted. But at the same time you can swim in other beaches on the island. It is quite strange. We faced with unpleasant situation with the water part. It's possible to visit it only once per stay, and it opens at 9.00. We came at 9.20 and the entrance was closed. They said that the cashier has not come. It was odd, because we live in this hotel and they had allowed us if they would have wanted and then to sort out everything. At the end we came to the water park only after 30 minutes of waiting. I dont think that its a good service. The renovation is not new, scratches in the bathroom, on the furniture

The whole place was amazing, and so beautiful. So many beautiful spaces, Loved the food, and dinner entertainment. Staff so friendly, and so helpful. Really loved the beach and all the chairs, shade spaces etc. It was world class, quality in everything.

It was not advertised to its full potential. Had we known how beautiful it was we would have opted to stay there for longer, and instead of Elnido. Photos do not show all that it is. Need explanation about the water park, as I did not understand how amazing it would be, not just slides in hotel pool. When I checked in I expected 2 double beds as advertised for each of the 3 rooms. Only got 1 after some complaining. I could not fit my 14 year old on a sofa bed, as his 6foot plus frame could not fit, so luck for the 1 room with 2 double beds in the end.
