Hotel Covilhã Dona Maria Affiliated by Meliá

This hotel was a surprise. We were looking for a chilled weekend to refresh and recharge and that's what we got. The breakfast was good with many options to choose from. Bedroom was big and the bed very comfortable. The facilities were clean and modern and we enjoyed the Pool and Spa areas, all included with no extra fee, as well as Gym and Parking too so.. Cool! Staff was friendly and welcoming!

I would like to see the Gym area being either expanded in area or reduced on the amount of machines because it was a very small space for everything that was in there. The pool boundaries area need some fixing, some stuff came off, not a big concern tough. The parking area was good to have since it was hot outside during our stay, however it was quite dark, dusty and not matching the awesome interior of the hotel. It kinda needs to be addressed to match the modern look of the overall facility.

It was a one night stay with the family. We arrived late in the night and everything was ready with no fault at all. Very nice spacious room with comfortable beds and linens and two types of pillows. Excellent water pressure (top floor). Excellent continental breakfast, with fabulous local products included. Super smooth check-in and check-out; both shifts desk personal were super friendly. Excellent parking (indoor and outdoor). We had no time to check other conveniences, but the very well sized indoor pool was being attended really early in the morning by the staff and looked great from the outside (too bad we hadn't had the time to enjoy it).

The suite was very nice, clean and very comfortable. The bed was massive comfy and the room was stylish and modern. The swimming pool with integrated jacuzzi is well sized. The gym and coaches will help you stay fit..if you wish too but the restaurant is very good and the staff very friendly!

The balcony will need some extra bottom protection for young kids. The bar wasn’t always staffed but if you ask you’ll get everything you want and prices are very reasonable. The most annoying thing was the same Leona Lewis album played again and again at the swimming pool… I’ll bring a few CD’s next time I’ll go there!!!🤣

Liked everything 🥰 As it was a trip to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary the hotel had decorated the bed with rose petals !!! For the first time ever we used Room Service for dinner 😊 Wow, it was excellent, hot, tasty and well presented (we had the steak). Otherwise the hotel, staff, facilities, everything, just as you would expect it to be. Well, this is Portugal and the Portuguese still believe in service with a smile 🤫

I had an amazing stay at Dona Maria. The bedroom was really clean, spacious with a very large and cozy bed. The hotel in general was meticulously clean, with a great spa area and one of the nicest indoor swimming pools I've been in Portugal. Breakfast was also very good, with a lot of nice options. Spacious parking lot and a great location. I'm definitely coming back.

Nothing, everything was very good.

Spacious rooms and good sound proofing in hallways. Excellent and very broad breakfast choices. Dinner is good value for money as well, for a hotel restaurant plenty of choices to pick from. Would definitely stay here again when I’m in the area . There is also a large Lidl next door where you can buy fresh pastries, bread and other essentials. Other than the lidl there is nothing around the hotel (but I knew that beforehand). So don’t expect this hotel to be in the center of covilha :-)

The parking garage entry/exit is really steep making an exit bit of a challenge as you can’t see if there is a car on top . the pillars supporting the building are all over te place. So a really large car might have some difficulties maneuvering. But thee are plenty of parking spaces outside as well. But that is the only negative thing.

We've always stayed at TRYP hotels around Portugal and it doesn't disappoint. Excellent service, good choice of breakfast buffet, spacious rooms, efficient Aircon for summer heat, fast internet for streaming, power showers and comfy beds. This hotel has large indoor pool but because of covid rules, time slots to use it had to be booked. Same for breakfast times. Hotel adhered to Covid-19 rules very well and we felt safe within the hotel. Easy walk to large shopping mall with food hall, Lidl next door and a few restaurants. However need a car to get into centre of town for sightseeing. Visit to ski resort worth doing. Recommended!

A complimentary bottle of water would have been a nice gesture in this summer heat!

Great location if you with the car - close to Serra da Estrella, but not in the city centre. Good SPA zone and sauna, we enjoyed it every day. Child zone with a lot of toys...in front of bar (parents, think about it😁)

Quite strange lighting switchers in the room. Our room was quite dark as it was the last one with one small window.

The breakfast was lovely there were always more than enough to eat .I enjoyed the Portuguese music while eating

Availability of coffee in the morning was lacking No shuttle the hotel need a shuttle to take visitors to and from center and a sight seeing’s

Great location. Staff is very kind. Bed was amazing.

Ridiculous swimming cap rule and no service for the pool area. Restaurant closes way to early. Breakfast was not a must, quite poor actually. No water boiler.
