La Capitana Old San Juan

the location is amazing! right on the main strip, overlooking the Atlantic, situated between both forts. awesome views and comfortable beds. kitchen was stocked with just enough to cook some small meals. there was coffee, milk, sugar and olive oil already. we mostly ate out, but having the few necessities available for us was really nice.

honestly, nothing. travelers should be aware that the location is extremely noisy on the weekends and the water pressure in town comes and goes, but we found a work around with headphones at night when it was really busy and washed hair in the kitchen sink, which had better pressure. we used the shower mostly for rinsing off after the beach.

Location is perfect. Central enough to be near everything but out the way of noisy bars. Massive apartment with equally massive and comfy beds. Kitchen and bathroom are basic and a little dated but for the price I was very happy. Easy check in with a hotel few minutes walk down the road. Would definitely stay again.

Only thing would be that with the usual Puerto Rican window shutters you can occasionally hear noisy guests coming into the building at night. This is by no means the hosts fault though and is the same for most central apartments. Would also be nice to have some soap and shampoo in the bathroom.

Comfortable and good price

The refrigerator was not cold upon our arrival and we did not have enough chairs. The floor was very dirty.

- could be cleaner - some things will need update: window doors, shower, ...

It was a great location with a great view, as well as, clean and well set up.

They water pressure in the shower could have been better. Most of the time there was hardly any water pressure. Also the wifi barely worked and the remote for the tv in the room was nowhere to be found. Though the only time these were issues were at night when we were done exploring for the day.

It had the ideal location where I could walk to most any place I wanted to see. I also had a rental car and was able to get street parking during off hours, then use a parking garage to park it long term. Very comfy all around with great AC too.

There was a leak from the bathroom sink, causing a pool of water to collect on the bathroom floor during the stay. Also the remote looked broken and needs replacing.

Omg well first off let me tell you how the location was absolutely magnificent, you literally have everything near you. I came to PR for 4 days for my husband's 50th Birthday. I even requested for them to decorate the room with roses and balloons. They were so kind enough to do that for me. The room was perfect, you have a kitchen and a balcony....Honestly we were really happy with everything I will most definitely come back to this air b&b but I'll get the ocean view instead 🙂

This is an excellent location with an even more excellent view. You really can't go wrong with this location. The views are stunning and other-worldly (seriously). This was a fantastic surprise!!

I would have liked an opportunity to actually cook. There was a microwave and two hot plates but overall the kitchen wasn't really equipped for me to cook a complete meal for my family.

The location is amazing, I rented two of the ocean balcony room for a group event and it was amazing. It’s right in the heart of Old San Juan and while the furniture might not be as new as a chain hotel it isn’t anywhere near the same price. The ocean view rooms are probably the best views in all of old San Juan. Things you have to consider when booking here, it’s an old building so there are only stairs and some passages are narrow(to be expected), it’s not a chain hotel it’s private apartments (things are not to the same level but that’s part of the charm), and there is a street under the balcony and some cars may play loud music (which the hotel cannot control). 10/10 would stay here every time.

There was no hot water in my particular unit and Old San Juan had some water issues while we were there so we didn’t have water one night.

It was conveniently close by places to visit and shop within walking distance and located on the ocean front. I would consider going back, if visiting the area again

Arriving could not get in touch with anyone to get in. Check in time was 3 and I arrived at 5. I made 3 calls before anyone responded. After about 45 minutes, I got a call and was instructed what to do, to get in
