Crisol Puerta de Burgos

We have stayed at this hotel previously as we like the secure underground parking which is a reasonable cost. Large comfortable room although we were on the back of the hotel with a view over a rear car park - but it was quiet. Good selection at breakfast although one dining room staff member was a little brusque. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful.

We were disappointed to read only the night before our stay that the hotel restaurant isn't open at weekends (we'd obviously forgotten from previous stays) and being a cold night we would have preferred to eat there instead of the 20 walk into town.

Room was very nice, modern and clean. Beds were comfortable and of a good size. Breakfast was adequate for our needs. Dinner in the restaurant was good and value for money. We would like to add our appreciation for the really great service from your waiter Brian who was excellent.

First impressions are really important for any hotel. Unfortunately the reception manager was quite rude and difficult, especially when we enquired about access to the underground car park. We managed to overcome this, but hotel staff need to be mindful where customer service is involved.

Very good location - a 15 minute walk to the Old Town (one can walk to it alongside the river which is quite pleasant). Leaving from the hotel to get to Burgos was particularly easy - as the hotel is basically right in the N623. The hotel is clearly a good few years old, but everything seemed to work. it did though feel more like a good 3* rather than a 4*. The lifts were not very quick or efficient and there did not seem to be an open stairway option. The breakfast was excellent re range & quality. The underground car park was reasonably priced + easy to access and very secure - but rather dark and very far from plush - it brought to mind a 1970’s UK council car park. Access back to the hotel from the car park was a bit disjointed. Overall though, excellent value with nice staff and a good location: I would stay here again as and when the need arises.

We had stayed at this Hotel last year on our first trip to Burgos so nothing was a surprise. A very nice Hotel if a little in need of some renovation and cleaning! We had to park in the street for free a little way from the hotel. No problem. Its a nice walk into the city. There is a big Alcampo Hypermarket close by so its ideal for the pre ferry shopping!

As mentioned above the hotel needs a make over and could be cleaner. Once again we were fascinated by the Glass doors on the toilet!

Beautiful panoramic views. Decent location, about 15-20 minutes walk into the town centre. There was underground garage parking for cars. The staff were friendly and even have us a run down of where to find all the places of interest in Burgos.

Buffet breakfast was average. The rooms were a little bit small for 3 people but it wasn't uncomfortable.

View from my 10th floor, floor to ceiling and wall to wall window was great. excellent blackout blinds too. Shower was powerful, room was tidy and beds were comfortable. Great location, short walk into the town centre.

Lighting in the underground car park could be better, mainly when coming in from the sunshine. Also no evening meal option.

My partner and I loved the hotel. The room was quite big, we opted for an executive room with big windows and view to the city. The view is not impressive, but the big windows and the skyline are quite nice. The staff is very friendly, the checkin and checkout quite easy to do.

It's not very close to the city centre - and if it's raining, like it happened when we went - it's quite unpleasant to walk in the rain. Finding parking in Burgos is not the easiest thing so the best option is to walk around. For a 4 star hotel the amount of toiletries was quite small - not even enough for one shower - but we had ours, so not a real problem.

The location was exactly as described, underground parking at 12€ was good. The room was basic but clean and everything worked, the bathroom was probably better than the room. The breakfast in the morning was good with an excellent selection of cold food and some warm food.

On arrival we were told the bar was shut.

The hotel is very nice and on the main road into Burgos and about 30 mins from the old town, so a nice walk in without any issues. So the hotel is outside if the city but in a reason able location. There is a very big Hipermarket (Alcampo) close to the hotel. We were very fortunate as we parked outside the reception in a limited time place, but i wa then able to move the car a few yards to a proper free place right outside the reception doors!!! A great result and a great start to out visit ! We didn’t have breakfast because we like to experience the local food on the hoof so to speak. The receptionist told us where to go and how to get to the old town which is straight forward from the hotel. The city is fantastic!

Not a huge problem but the toilets in the room was interesting having see through glass doors and no main door to separate the facilities from the bedroom part.

Good location with a lovely walk to all the sights and cafes. Quiet and very clean!

One of the two single beds was uncomfortable. Some of the bathroom features were old and damaged, with a quick and patchy fix. For example, the bath had a few holes that had been filled in but were rough to touch. The handle for support getting in and out of the shower was loose.
