Avani Alonso Martinez Madrid hotel -previously NH Alonso Martinez-

Perfect location, central Madrid with 2 minute access to Metro, 20 minutes from the airport, Granvia & Sol in walking distance for shopping and good restaurants and a small convenient store and a pharmacy across the street. Good breakfast, the best service staff at restaurant. Facilities were nice especially toilet: bidet, seperate bath tub, rain shower. Amenities were pretty good too: steam iron, bath salt, enough cloth hangers and a seperate hanging area in addition. Something I found especially comforting was Netflix streaming - hotels always have tvs with WiFi or smart functions but mostly without capability to stream Netflix direct. This was a big plus along with Bluetooth speaker which was nice to have.

Everything was amazing. So these are more of things I felt could have been better: work table in the room has a big desk light but the switch was under the desk which is inconvenient. Free WiFi could have been better speed, I didn’t mind paying but as it was a work trip I was mostly out so it wouldn’t make sense to spend on just WiFi. Drinking water was provided only on the first night, Nespresso machine was great but one coffee / one decaf only. Breakfast was good but overflow was sent to another area with just a Nespresso machine for coffee instead of the proper machine and slightly fewer items than the original breakfast space.

Great location, right next to metro so easy to get to hotel from the airport. Mostly walked around city and the hotel was perfect as a base. I was also a big fan of all the cat decor/art in the hotel. Our room was really nice and the bed and pillows super comfy. Also got a little welcome treat from the hotel when we checked in which was a lovely touch.

The bathroom was nice (great shower), however it had a bit of a smell of drains after toilet had been flushed.

Super comfortable bed. Large room, quiet, and gets completey dark during the night. Bathroom is spacious, plenty of room to put your accessories on counter top. Large desk, good place to work. Very close to metro station Alonso Martinez. Restaurants and cafés nearby.

There is a door stopper right in the middle of the room entrance, close to the bed. You stumble on it every time you walk towards the door. They have electricity outlets close to the desk, however, they put a piece of furniture/decoration in front of it. Corridors are dated, narrow and dark. Room decoration is a mix. Lot of mirrors everywhere, cleaning ladies probably have a lot of work with those mirrors. Elevator is really small. Entrance of hotel is hard to see - it is in a corner. If you are passing at the street, you do not see it.

The hotel is located not far away from the city center,the metro station is about 2-3 minutes waking. The neighborhood is safe,nice looking and quiet The room was clean,well equipped and the AC worked fine Also,they serve delicious breakfasts,with a lot of options to choose from Even if you don’t add breakfasts for your stay,you can always get lemon water and coffee and downstairs,which is nice of them I believe this hotel is a great deal for its price

- Very attentive staff, they provided me with european power adapters, and were overall ready to help. - Great location, nearby metro station connects to almost every line without being packed like Sol or Gran Via. - Very good breakfast, even if it's a little bit pricey. - Quiet rooms. - Pretty good small gym, open all day until 10pm

Free wifi was a bit on the slowish side. Still very usable, and reaches every corner of the hotel. There's a premium option for a fee that promises faster speeds, although I didn't try it.

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room, good size and well appointed bathroom, loved when I could sync my streaming to the TV starting my second night. Great location. Good protection from street noise (and fairly quiet street)

Unfortunately the restaurant was not open , though the room service link was a decent temp fix. And the refrigerator made some loud clicking noises from time to time (I never did let the staff know)

Building and interior are very charming and stylish. Nice size room and large well equipped bathroom. Excellent location close to metro with multiple lines. Quick checkin even with late arrival.

Nothing that really stands out as a negative. I did not have a lot of interaction with the staff, but overall feel like staff could have been friendlier. No bad interactions though, just not great. Check-in for example went very smooth and quick, Positives definitely outweigh these subtle suggestions for improvement.

The hotel is new, very well renovated. We were given quiet room with the windows facing the inner yard and we could sleep like babies. Also great location: walking distance from different areas: center, Malasana, Chueca

A bit lack of lightning in the room: it was always a bit dark but the purpose was to sleep so we didn’t complain.

The property is very well located. The metro station is close by and many bars and restaurants can also be reached by foot. The reception of the hotel is new and modern. The staff was very friendly. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom also had a great size. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Nothing! There was a construction in front of the hotel, so it was quite loud outside, but there is nothing the hotel could have done about it.

Really loved the spacious and luminous room. Clean, big and bright bathroom with natural light and huge window. Staff very kind and helpful. Location was great, very center and in a quite neighborhood.

The mattress of the bed was really hard, you could feel the mattress springs. Not comfortable to sleep. Also the pillows one was really hard, and the other one so soft, it was a bit uncomfortable. Besides this, the rest was amazing.
