Bundanoon Hotel

We loved everything - this was our 2nd time staying. We booked a room with a double bed and a single bed and shared bathroom. We got a room that look out to the train station and my grandson was in raptures watching the trains go by. We used the communal lounge room upstairs to watch some movies. We used the small communal kitchen across the hall from the lounge to heat up our dinner and also the kettle and toaster in the morning to make our breakfast. This is our favourite place to stay and we will be back next year.

That we didn’t stay longer

We chose this historic hotel adjacent to the Bundanoon railway station as a two day getaway from Canberra (travelling by train) to enjoy my birthday. Our stay at the Bundanoon Hotel met all expectations in a comfortable historic location (a clean queen-bedded room with ensuite bathroom) friendly staff and delicious evening meal in the dining room. Also close walking distance to several delightful cafes in the Bundanoon village. We rated our two day visit as excellent and would happily stay again at the charming Bundanoon Hotel.

We chose this historic country hotel for the reasons provided and found all aspects to our satisfaction.

Shared facilities for breakfast,- good,location close to the centre of town.Staff friendly and helpful.A peaceful, quiet location, little noise from neighbouring railway line, a bonus for a Xmas stay. Wonderful, upgraded to a room with my own bathroom for the same.price as a room with shared bathroom. All staff very nice, would like to stay there again.

Kitchen fridge could have been tidier, no toaster provided. Had breakfast in own room on bed. No worries as there was no chairs to sit on in kitchen or bedroom. Understandable given the cost.

We just stayed one night in this lovely and traditionell Hotel. The personal received us with a warm welcome. Our room was big and had a big bed in it. We really enjoyed the awesome restaurant. The food was very tasty, it has an open kitchen and the service was excellent. Later on the personal helped us and even when we had been in trouble after check out and being on the road again they supported us to find a solution. I will keep this wonderful Hotel in the beautifull nature of Bundanoon always in best memories. I really can recommend to stay there when you are in Bundanoon.

Lovely old country hotel character including the bistro with big open fire, and the separate sitting room for guests to enjoy - decorated in the style of the early 1900s We stayed in the budget room with shared bathroom - very good value for money. Just a walk across the railway line with historic station to main street shops.

The noise from the trains - main train line - trains ran at all hours. Next time I will ask for a room on the other side of the corridor.

We were there for one night because it was convenient for where we were going the next day. There was enough room for that purpose and the bed was comfortable. The room was heated and cosy. There was a kettle, milk and coffee/tea and a useful powerboard. We had an ensuite. We had dinner at the hotel and it was terrific.

The room was too well heated and we opened a window. Instructions on how to turn the heater on/off/down would be useful. The power outlet was away from the kettle so we heated it on the floor. a minor thing really. There was no TV but that was ok as we were there for one night. You could hear the trains at night and the band playing downstairs.

The staff were friendly and great. The main areas of the hotel were cosy, comfortable and pleasant to be in. We stayed in the lower rooms that had a shared bathroom, we knew what to expect and the good thing is the shared bathrooms were very big, clean and pleasant. BEST coffee in Bundanoon!! They even had Bonsoy.

The bed I had was comfortable but the top mattress was wider than the base so it was like sleeping on jelly.

The dinner in the restaurant was absolutely superb and completely unexpected. The signature dish, crab linguine was 5/5 and incredible. The mushroom risotto was amazing. The kids meals were large in size and demolished.

The trains going by during the night made it hard to sleep, but that was part of the charm. The bed had a bed head and bed foot end so made it a little small in size. The kids slept all night and they loved their comfy beds.

Quite an experience, we arrived in the middle of a Scottish Highland Festival weekend which was a real bonus and we were really lucky to get a room for the night. We were returning from the flooded out Northern Coast of NSW and wanted to reach the Southern Highlands and couldn’t’ have picked a better hotel for atmosphere! The room was very basic with a shared bathroom not too far away down the corridor and we were very comfortable for the night! The dinner we were served in this hotel was very good and although desserts were not offered, they were not needed. We would return to this place to further explore the Southern Highlands and the hotel which had much more to offer those staying longer in the town. I & C Worth, Melbourne, April 2022.

Really friendly staff, new owners have done a great job renovating this massive property- especially with covid/fires/etc all happening immediately after purchasing the property. I can see their dream and really encourage them to keep going! Beautiful Tudor style exterior and foyer, comfortable beds, clean bedrooms, beautiful vintage interiors, chefs are amazing!

Cleanliness of shared bathroom although that is the fault of disgusting and disrespectful guests rather than hotel staff, hopefully in time owners can put more cleaners on or update to more en-suite.
