Gundagai Motel

The room was ample in size for an overnight stay. The heating was fantastic & we felt very warm & cozy. I liked that there was a table & 2 chairs in the room & plates to use for a snack. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect. I also liked that it was so easy to find. You park right outside your room and it's walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets. I would definitely stay here again.

I wish it had a hairdryer in the room.

The room, although not large, seemed more spacious because the ceiling slanted upwards; and had recently been tastefully redecorated and supplied with everything needed for my overnight stay. The motel was very convenient to the town centre, a supermarket, a returned services club [for meals], the main highway, swimming pool and parkland. (A window can be opened—important to me.) The bed was very comfy, the shower and towels were especially good.

Minor details: the chairs at the little table were a bit flimsy, and there was a bedside table only on one side of the bed (although there was enough space for a second).

The location was very close to the highway. Although we arrived quite late at night, the staff had made arrangements for the keys so we did not have any trouble. The rooms were clean with fresh sheets. Everything is spotless and excellent. Although we stayed only for the night, it was very relaxing after a long drive. Also, very near to the main street with a number of cafes for breakfast in the morning or lunch . Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Thanks to the staff at Gundagai Motel v

I have stayed here before, and find it a perfect spot to split the long trip between Melbourne and Sydney. The room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated (and renovated), very quiet; with comfy beds, windows that open, and everything needed for a relaxing stay. The motel is very conveniently located, with access to the Hume Highway (from which no noise was audible) and near an RSL Club with a good menu.

The lady who greeted me when I arrived was very friendly which I appreciated after a long drive.

The old man who wanted to clean my room after I left was quite rude. It was just on check out time at 10 when he came up to me as I was packing my car. He wanted to go in to my room and start cleaning even though I still had my possessions in the room! When I asked him to wait just a few minutes he looked at his watch right in front of me! How rude! I was glad to leave, yet I had enjoyed my stay right up until that point. Also, it would have been good to have a microwave in the room.

Excellent location near the club for dinner and also a Woolworths. Amazing new looking playground for young and older kids (mine are 10 and 14 and still loved this playground) across the road. Right off the freeway yet very quiet. Owner was really friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and extremely clean (the cleanest I encountered during my 8 night trip), bed was super comfy. Very affordable and parking just outside the room which was very handy. Would highly recommend and stay there again if travelling between Melbourne and Sydney.

Excellent location at quiet end of Main Street, close to hotels and services club so easy access for meals. Pleasant room, immaculate, nice decor, comfortable beds, great soft lighting for each bed, lots of power points, lots of hot water in nice bathroom. Really pleasant staff who are so helpful with any questions. Wifi access free, with details in the room. We have stayed here often over the last 10 years. Very reasonable rates for such a pleasant place.

Maybe a toaster would be a great addition.

The staff at reception were helpful. I was able to park my car outstide my room. Neat and tidy. Good for an overnight stay when you don't want anything fancy.

I would have liked a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and most importantly, an air conditioner that worked. The air conditioner in this room didn't work and it was stinking hot when I stayed at the property. It was an uncomfortable stay.

room was clean and the bed comfortable, TV and A/C worked fine. Big Plus....I was able to open the window for fresh air, many of the newer motels do not have opening windows! The Local RSL club is across the street where you can get a top meal for a reasonable price with friendly service. What else could you want!

The rooms are quite close to the road and you can get a bit of traffic noise up to about 10 or eleven, only a minor negative.

The location is perfect for highway access- but far away you dont hear the traffic. Close by for a park for the kids, pubs, restaurants and woolworths. Rooms serviced each day; which was nice.

Shower head could use a replacement as it sprayed in all sorts of directions— but still did the job so was no big deal!
