Amaroo Motel

Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly. Every effort was made to make me feel comfortable. Everything was very clean. The room was comfortable and smelt so nice. There was plenty of hot water. The room had everything I needed, such as tea and coffee making facilities, a toaster, a fridge and a microwave.

Bathroom could do with an update, but it is well thought out and very functional with plenty of hooks, rails and even a shelf to store supplies. There was a tight squeeze around the corner to get a car as one was already parked at the end room, but once I got around there was plenty of room to park right outside my room and it was easy to get out.

Excellent motel, it is one of these places where you get the sense that the management cares about the facilities and the guests. Rooms are very spacious and clean, beds are very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

There was quite a draft coming from the front door. There was a draft stopper on the bottom but not on the sides, and it can cool down the room (of course, you can use the heater).

Room was very clean. Basic appliances (microwave, toaster & kettle) provided in the room enabled you to make your own light breakfast. The location was fantastic with easy access to the main street with many dining options. Short walk to Tumut River Brewery and worth dropping in. Highly recommend taking one of the many walking trails along the river. We took the Tumut River Walk walk which started in the carpark at the entrance of Riverglade Caravan Park just near the Tumut Valley Canoe Club and is an easy but spectacular 4km return walk along the river and highly recommended.

The staff were exceptional! We left some clothes hanging in the cupboard by mistake. They tried unsuccessfully to call us as soon as the found them . when we returned to Sydney we realized what we had done. We called to see if they had found them and they arranged to send them priority to our home address. what amazing service!!! wonderful country hospitality. The room was exceptional value - spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is centrally located convenient to restaurants in town. I can’t recommend this motel highly enough.

Mostly very good, overall a good stay - we would certainly revisit. Happy to recommend the place.

We couldn't get the room to chill down despite having the AC on full for ages, we then noted there was a very large gap under the door, so all the chilled air just disappeared. As soon as we realised this, we blocked this up with a towel or something and had a cool room fairly quickly (our visit coincided with high temperatures). It's to the owners advantage to address this for all their rooms as this will reduce their electricity bill as well as enhancing the comfort of the guests (as well as stopping any unwanted crawling 'guests' coming under the door)..

Friendly welcome. Clean, quiet and cosy room. Lovely hot shower and a very comfortable bed. Quiet air con. The staff were lovely - the manager and the beautiful ladies organising breakfast made us feel very much at home. The manager provided us with great advice about Tumut eateries and places to visit. Being right in town everything was easily accessible.

We enjoyed the breakfast on the two mornings we were at the motel. The hot and cold breakfasts was served in a dining room amongst other guests by the chef Sharon and a helper. They were both exceptionally great people and very helpful. Our motel room met our needs quite well and there was ample parking spots on site. The hotel was position close to the main street and only took us less than 5 mins to get there by foot.

The room was very clean. Even the shower glass was extremely clean. The heater works well as the hot water in the shower. The location is only walking distance to the center. The manager, Grant has a really good customer service. He looked after the parking spot for us as well.

It was fine for just a one night stay. Staff were lovely. The room was basic but clean. Shower was hot with good water pressure. Bed was fine.

Since breakfast couldnt be served early enough for us we decided to have our own in our room but discovered there were no bowls or spoons. Maybe that would be a good addition or maybe an option to collect from reception if required. No big deal though we managed. :)

The room was spotless, the bathrooms are really clean and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. My husband and I will be returning to this motel for sure should we return to Tumut. I would highly recommend it to others. I loved their breakfast, especially the bacon and eggs, the toast and the selection of honey, butter and jams. The staff were also friendly and lovely.

I didn't like the coffee included in the breakfast, however, that's more to do with my personal taste. Others might enjoy it. There are plenty of nice cafes in town if you like a strong brew. For those travelling with family, the Macdonald's restaurant is only a short walk away from the motel.
