Beautiful heritage buildings located in very pretty surroundings. The reed diffuser scent was absolutely beautiful and the fresh flowers were a lovely touch.

The renovations in the cottage could be more in line with the heritage of the building. There was someone else's left over food in the fridge when we arrived. TV in second bedroom was not plugged into the power as the cord didn't reach so had to find a power board to put there. Remote for TV in second bedroom didn't work

The owner was absolutely wonderful . We checked in super late and he was sooo accommodating. He also upgraded us for no extra charge . The Room was large and bed super comfy would just suggest a microwave . The owner offered us extra heater and went in and turned on out heater to make sure room was warm when we got there. Can't praise the owner , he truly went out of his way to be accommodating and helped me with an extra room last minute and didn't make me feel like a hassle at all . I love the old hospital transformed . It felt like it had history in an ornate, regal sort of way . Very peaceful asnd beautiful location.

I didn't like no microwave . It was also cold in the bathroom but U can heat it , but really ceilings take a little longer to heat but once heated it's lovely .

The location was perfect with a beautiful outlook. The aroma from the lemon scented blossoms around our two bedroom cottage was relaxing. The breakfast was delicious. We had dinner provided to our room which was exceptional. Baked salmon and cous cous salad. Vegetarian roasted vegetable stack and greek salad. We shared and was ample for three hungry health conscious people. Also beautiful cappucinos and hot tea in pots. The best! Thanks to you both

We could have stayed another night in these beautiful country surroundings however had to return to home.

This place is magical is such a beautiful property away from home. Definitely recommend! Will be returning in the future.

Tv had poor reception no channels worked but isn't a big deal. Pillows too soft and mattress bit too springy. All in all- beautiful place. These are minor things that don't bother me at all.

Heritage victorian style building with an inviting look and feel. The family room was spacious and beds were warm and comfortable. Great view from the top of the hill.

No mobile phone reception, which on the one hand was great but on the other we needed to make a booking for the next day and couldn't during our stay in Wellington.

unique building and history, access to big communal kitchen and dining verandah. the outlook to surrounding hills was added bonus. the restaurant was great to have on site with attentive service and delicious food. generous hosts. as a groups with bikes, we could lock them safely outside or inside which was so convenient.

as it was the old nurses quarters, the rooms are quite small with shared bathrooms. we knew that but what was lacking in facilities was made up for in character.

The room was very clean and spacious, and had a very regal feel. Aircon worked well, and the bed was super comfy. The location was also good, with an interesting history and quiet but serene setting.

There's no WiFi (not that that's a huge problem, but it would've been more convenient). All the door handles were quite old, which was in-theme but they weren't so easy to use. There was also a frog just hanging out on the toilet seat when we got there. We thought that was cute though.

We really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast at the resort. The managers were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the old store building which was clean and comfortable and had suffficient room for 3 people.

Location is a little removed from the centre of town, but had great views.

The accommodation was beautiful heritage style. Beds were comfy. Great for families - pool was good too. Restaurant was lovely, food was tasty and presented beautifully … albeit a little expensive. Bon bons were nice.

Breakfast - poached eggs were ok, but needed condiments. Toast needs to be sour dough rather than cheap supermarket bread. Need condiments as well, like salt and pepper, and greens on the side. Just jazz it up like dinner…

What a beautiful old building. It has an old charm and I can just imagine men and women in turn of the century clothing, sipping on Pimms and enjoying the view over Wellington. I stayed in the Duchess suite and it was spectacular. The four post, King sized bed was comfortable and warm and there was plenty of space to move around. The bathroom is ginormous and the spa was a a nice treat. The furnishings and decor and very in keeping with the Federation style but they have the modern comforts. It definitely lives up to the country retreat as advertised.
