Oaks Gold Coast Calypso Plaza Suites

Location was amazing, we were so happy to receive a 4th level apartment. The view from both decks was amazing looking across beach with views upto Gold Coast. The swimming pool setting was amazing & lighting at night. Groundkeepers keep gardens immaculate. We stayed here to be in the heart of Coolie Rocks Classic car show resort was perfect location. Had great games room, sauna & gym everything you could ask for. Apartment was spacious and really comfy bed.

We loved our stay, pool was heated but would be much better if few degrees warmer. Apartment had everything we needed, couple pieces furniture had wear this didn't worry us- but for some it might. Price was quite high but only due to peak time with Coolie Rocks Car festival. Would happily return again

The outdoor pool was great, it was reasonably sheltered, was a lovely shape, not too deep and slides made it fun for children plus plenty of sunbeds. The nearby beach was lovely and local facilities such as ice cream shop, bar and local shops were on the doorstep. For those staying longer an Aldi was a short walk. The room was comfortable and the garden area outside the room was good for outdoor breakfast or evening drinks. The room was spacious comfortable and had all the facilities we needed.

It was the end of season so the cafe didn’t open every day but when it did the food and drink were very good. The whole building is a little dated but adequately maintained.

We stayed here before, 20 years ago! We enjoyed it then and today it has definitely kept up with modern times. Very clean rooms, exceptionally comfortable beds, spacious rooms and nice kitchen. Great location and walking distance to everything in Coolangatta.

We were on the first level in room 154/156. The noise of the underground garage door opening and closing door kept us awake as check in is 24 hours. I reported this to reception, they said for security reasons the garage door is open during the day and in the evening they have to close it. I suggested that they need to disclose this information to people that it can be noisy if you are on the first level with the garage door under your unit.

I have previously stayed at Calypso and was aware of the amenities etc.

The room we stayed 124 did not have a oven or ventilation . We pan fired bacon and eggs for breakfast and the smoke alarm activated. We had to open all the doors engage the fan in the bedroom and wave a towel under the smoke alarm to stop the alarm and potential arrival of the fire brigade. Awkward to step into the bath for a shower at our age ( Over 70)

The resort/complex is lovely and in a great central location near the beach. The complex itself has a generally nice holiday vibe with a range of guest types. The pool and spa are appealing and well used by the guests, families with children just love it. Our 2 bedroom apartment was extremely spacious and clean, with 2 bathrooms and full laundry. We found it to be quiet and were not bothered by noise from other guests. Walking distance to supermarket (Woolies) and other shops and eateries. We would definitely stay here again.

Just a couple of minor things - it would be nice to have a small bottle of dishwashing liquid in the cupboard and a couple of tea towels, also a bench cloth -egg cups would be nice

The location was fantastic, with shops, restaurants, and the beach all within easy walking distance. We stayed 5 days in a two-bedroom with ocean /pool views and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was especially cozy and we had a great night's sleep every night. The large lagoon-style pool that was perfect for relaxing and cooling off in the hot sun.

While the rooms are generally clean and comfortable, the furniture and decor are starting to show their age and could benefit from a refresh. In our room, the carpet would need a replacement at some stage.

The pool and slides were a huge hit with the kids. Pool depth .9m all the around apart from near the slide drop so was perfect for my kids. Location was fabulous too, super close to woolworths, lots of restaurants and cafes and beach accross the road. 4th floor pool view room had a beautiful view of pool and beach, was close to the lift and quiet.

The room was fairly dated. It was clean but looking around there was cracked tiles in bathroom, grout looked a bit dirty, washing machine was smelly with mold along the rubber seal, this is not a new hotel and you can just tell it's been well used.

Loved the easy checkin process and friendliness of staff upon arrival. The room was neat and tidy with great blockout blinds and no noise from the street. The bed was a little uncomfortable but we're used to a high quality, pillow top mattress so there aren't many that meet our expectations. It was great for our one night stay and the location is fantastic, close to the beach for our morning walk with many cafes, restaurants and amenities nearby.

It is getting a little tired and the bathroom could do with an update as well as the mattress.

the location was perfect, close to lots of shops and across from the beach, the room was nice and clean, the bed was great, im very tall and fitted nicely in it, my boy loved the pool water slides, it was nice to sit back and watch him have fun.

the only thing i didnt like was that kids from outside were coming in and using the pool and slides, that would not worry me but they were walking up the slides and my son hurt himself coming down the slide and collecting them, they have cameras in the pool area, but obviously not monitored, i told them off for doing it and just got a mouthful of abuse from them

My apartment had a great balcony, with a glimpse of the ocean to the side, which was lovely. The rooms were spacious, clean, very quiet, and had all that I needed. I loved being able to sleep with the balcony door open and the fresh breeze coming into the bedroom. The ocean was just over the road and there were plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops around. The location was fantastic. The 24 hour reception was wonderful, and the staff were very helpful and lovely. I would stay here again.

The bathroom was very clean but could use a renovation, the shower particularly.
