The Grand Oaks Resort

Stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel is very well maintained with a luxury feel to it, standard double room was small but serviced daily. The hotel is walking distance from the town center though the walk back to the hotel is all up hill. All staff were lovely, Their restaurant was closed during the stay period. The grand oaks and surrounding area is beautiful.

They have two car parks with ample parking space but they are a bit of a walk away from the entrance.

Spacious bathroom, lovely view out to pool and trees lawn, quiet and restaurant was very good. We had cooked breakfast one day but unfortunately didn’t provide this service during the week. There was a beautiful outdoor seating area to have drinks and dinner, overlooking the park. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

The rooms were tiny and the bed only a double so not great for a couple sleeping together. Difficult storing our suitcases in the small room. At night I tripped over the suitcase on the way to the bathroom, since I had no other place to store it. The smallest tv I’ve ever seen hanging up high on the wall, surprisingly as tvs are so cheap these days

1. Room design. Poor- Why did the architect think he could do better than the standard Hilton Model ? power point availability poor - well below expectations for the price point. Bathroom Design. - not acceptable. 2. Improvements Room a) Preheat room prior to Cx in. b) heat hallways to room access. c) Next time use a tradesman to render room walls b4 painting d) Room Appliances All Tired .. Iron , Board, Small TV. mean with facial tissue iron. e) consider better quality eiderdown & pillows f) Room hallways sparse on furniture. h) Room paintings. (why bother- sad) 3. Improvements Dining room. a) lacked atmosphere b) napery. (None) 4.Management Staff Shortage. Covid excuse wears thin.

Great atmosphere beautiful surroundings close to town and friendly staff. Property well maintained very leafy grounds good parking and pool.

Room and bed really quite small for two people. Bar only open limited hours and what looks like a nice restaurant not open for another few weeks. Good excuse to explore Beechworth which is well worth it.

The services were amazing, with very friendly staff. The grounds of the Hotel were amazing, the coffees were fantastic and the dinner was ok. Our entree was amazing, the mains were a little bland but easily fixed with some salt.

We needed to use the extra power point at base of the headboard so when we moved the mattress we found heaps of dust and cobwebs, there was also a lot of dust on the side of the bedhead... I didn't like the toilet and vanity were in a different room than the shower... the shower had no pressure, the exhaust fan was very dusty, and the shower was in what looked like an old closet.. very awkward and weird.

From the moment my husband and I walked into the motel we felt welcome and relaxed. Upon arrival we were greeted by Ally who went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible. We dined in the hotels restaurant for both dinner and breakfast to which we were not disappointed. The room wss comfortable and exactly what we asked for. This motel was the perfect little get away for our anniversary. I will also have to say that having Ally greeting us every single time and her not making us feel like just another guest with the usual forced conversation was very refreshing. The fact that this women would run from one side of the hotel to the other just to serve or talk to us was unbelievable. She definitely makes this motel a big part of the reason to return.

Can honestly say nothing

Front of house staff were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The bar and deck were particularly nice, and the grounds were lovely.

The details were not up to date. For example, the restaurant (which for me, and clearly for other guests, was a factor in my decision to stay at the hotel) wasn't open. The Reception (and therefore check-in) shut at 5pm. While I of course understand that these things can't be helped during the pandemic, this should have been updated on the site, to enable customers to plan accordingly, especially as it's a fifteen minute walk into town.

Everything about this hidden gem is wonderful. The food in the restaurant is to die for, rooms comfortable and clean, and the staff friendly and kind, could not do enough. I would differently recommend. Peaceful and quiet surrounded by beautiful gardens. plenty of parking.

nothing it was all wonderful.

This was our first time staying at the GK since covid and the bushfires in 2019. It was so lovely to be back. The GK is secluded and peaceful (but still within walking distance to town) and the rooms are clean, comfortable and (in the case of the spa suite) incredibly generous in size. The bed is comfortable, and the bar/restuarant on site is great if you don't feel like venturing off site.

Unfortunately due to covid breakfast had been cancelled. Parking is still limited out the front. Minor gripes with an otherwise outstanding hotel! Can't wait to visit again!

Very friendly staff. The room we had was roomy, comfortable and clean. The air conditioner was as noisy as any other split system air conditioner.Otherwise our room location meant wonderful quietness.

No dinner was provided on Sunday or Monday but it didn't matter. On nights it was open the meals in the restaurant were of excellent standard.
