Great town location. Right in the middle of the main precinct. Free 24 hour parking all bookable when you walk in (and allowed to stay after check out as long as you declared when entering details). Self check in available at the main desk. We requested a kettle in the room and it was there waiting for us to collect. Our room had double doors to a balcony which was fantastic to see our hire car and ventilation during the heat wave. We had a twin room and just pulled the beds apart for more room. Room was clean and tidy although we couldn’t work out how to get the sockets to turn on when the switch is at the door. I had to go to reception to ask. The room was good value. However breakfast was around £14 each and too basic for us. Very limited options. Best ask before ordering if you’re a fussy eater. Bedding lovely and clean and fresh. Bathroom (private) clean, white towels, and hot shower. Would definitely stay again for another city break.

Finding the carpark!!! It was the worst one I have ever had to find as the postcode did not help. 4 laps later of the one way system and driving at 10 mph we found the tiny left turn into the correct area to go right under the tiny arch to park. 4 spaces were there. However, super secure when found. Breakfast was too limiting - we paid extra as to fill us up before a busy day but we were hungry by lunch. Not the hotels fault but the town is dead after 9pm and there is no way of getting any food, however it does mean the area is very quiet even though you’re in the middle of it. Room was slightly dated with its dark wooden decor, however we were told this is the renovated side. Lift was broken however stairs are wide with good rails.

The hotel is very close to the cathedral (5min by foot). Even though the building was old with problems with the water system (warm water), the manager was super helpful and tried to fix the problem. We appreciated to get our night offered because we had no water for the shower !

Maybe the access to the hotel could be more signaled with signs and arrows to find it more easily.

We had the misfortune of becoming ill during our stay so we did not get to enjoy your hotel or your town. We spent 4 days in the room in bed.

Parking seemed to be an issue. We kept getting parking tickets. The hotel staff said they would take care of the tickets and we should not worry.

The location is perfect. The hotel is located on a walking street, close to all sort of shops and markets. Hospital ,bus- & train stations are just few 100 meters away. That’s why I prefer it. Rooms are fine as per cleanliness. Though can get even better. It’s a good place for a short stay.

The breakfast needs some serious attention. It could be only me who thinks that as I am a food lover. Scrambled eggs are never included in the breakfast. There can also include beans along with sausages.

Location is excellent, rooms clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Overall an excellent experience for the price.

Minor point really but limited amount of hot water kettles. Would be better to have one in each room, although hot water for drinks was available at reception.

Perfectly located right in the center of the town. Very quiet.

Old looking room, stained carpet. Could have used an extra towel to dry the floor since the shower curtain can't keep the rest of the bathroom dry. Only one plug by the bed, so you have to pick between having some bedlight and charging you phone.

This is a formerly-grand kind of place that is working hard to get back up to that level. The location is unbeatable, parking free and easy (very convenient), good food nearby. Staff very helpful and friendly. Convenient bar up front.

Bar and restaurant closed a little early.

Loved the interior & exterior - thick curtains and soft carpets, clean and well kept old place. Location was excellent too, the staff great!

Well from the estimations I found out already that there were no minifridge, so I could be prepared.

Breakfast was very good - excellent selection of cold items!

Our bed room was a bit cramped but had a seating area with TV attached. I did see that there were nicer rooms as we passed them on the way to breakfast. However for a single night it was fine. If we had been there for longer I would have liked a bigger room

The hotel is located just a few steps away from the city center and only 10 minutes from the train station. We had a wonderful view of the cathedral from our room. The staff is very kind and the room is very clean and very quiet.
