Holiday Inn Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, an IHG Hotel

Great location - 10-minute shuttle ride to the airport and a short walk to Flamingo aquapark & spa. They have kettles in rooms - not all hotels in Finland have those. The ventilation was very quiet, the windows were soundproof, the bed and pillows were comfortable. Very good breakfast!

Just the website - it is difficult to find information about their shuttle service (it is on one of 70 hotel photos). Would be nice if the hotel put that info in their description - that shuttle leaves every 30 minutes (15 and 45 minutes past each hour) from platform 42.

the hotel is quite close to the airport (Vantaa). Also there's a free sauna on the 2nd floor, it was a nice surprise for me. After an 8 hours trip it was great to get sauna I'd say! The property itself is quite good as well.

The hotel description page says there's a free transfer from the airport to the hotel, and I asked the hotel personal about the pick up location (when I was booking a room), but I got no response from them. Then, a few days before the trip, I wrote to them once again (via booking app), but there was no answer, so I did a walk with my luggage from the airport to the hotel, it took me about 45 minutes. That isn't the thing you want to get after an 8 hours trip. The reception personal wasn't friendly as well :( I talked to them twice (check-in and check-out), neither of the experience was good or warm. It was pity :(

The breakfast was fabulous - it had delightful choices for Finnish (e.g. warm cinnamon buns, Karelian pies, salmon, etc.), Japanese and Nordic tastes. The room was typical, the towels were changed daily, the shower was great. Overall an adequate room that was kept very warm (23.7 C). The front desk staff were very helpful and nice, all of them. They could call a cab for you in minutes.

The sheets on my bed had somebody else's crumbs or bits of peanuts for a couple of nights. I didn't eat anything in bed in that room. Did they change the sheets or not? I'll never know. The sink area in the bathroom was pretty small, but overall adequate bathroom. There was no security box in the room, so we had to leave the laptop at the front desk (their back office). That worked out okay.

Executive room is very good for a family with kids, beds are reasonable and space is sufficient. I really appreciated the quality of linen and pillows, it was a good night sleep. Breakfast was very good, there is a tiny play area in the restaurant where kids enjoyed themselves for a while. Service lady at breakfast was beyond nice - she was the sweetest person! And overall atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. I will definitely return. Comparing between IHG and Scandic in Vantaa, i will prefer IHG for sure.

One thing i noticed, and so did my friend who stayed here last year, is narrow blankets - it did not disturb me too much although felt a bit strange, but may become a problem for someone with more sensitive sleep who prefers to roll into the blanket a bit.

I really like the ratio between the price and the value you get, the breakfast was very good, plenty of choices, fast internet, staff was nice and helpful. Even though they weren't able to put the company data on the invoice at the desk, they promised to add it and to send via email, which I have received 10 minutes after my departure. I really appreciate that they are keeping promises. The location is very close to airport and the airport shuttle bus was standing in front of the hotel driving there and back each defined time interval.

Yeah, what I can say, the price for a bottle of wine was around 45 - 60 Euros in the hotel restaurant, so even for Finland that surprised me. But other than this I do not have.

The room was nice, clean and quiet. I appreciated kettle and several tea bags, sugar and coffee. Clean bathroom. I can recommend this hotel, I had a nice stay.

There was some small misuderstanding about number of the room, because staff didn't write it and say it clearly. What was not very comfortable - it was difficult to find a shuttlebus at the airport. I had to take a taxi. I think that visitors would appreciate more information about shuttlebus on the web of the hotel - where exactly people can find the bus stop at the airport, for example small map.

The hotel is very convenient if arriving into Helsinki airport late or leaving early morning, my situation. The curtesy bus is convenient although not well marked (not at all) within the airport itself. The staff were friendly both at check-in and in the restaurant.

Better sign posts for the curtesy bus. Minimum, add some directions to the hotel website. Also, the Women's sauna is only accessible if provided with a special key at reception - nobody tells you that so I tried to access and then needed to return to Reception to query why my room key was not sufficient.

The airport is close and is well connected to the airport by a free shuttle going every 20 minutes with a just two hours break from 1 to 3 am. Check the schedule in the bottom of the booking page. The rooms are quite comfortable and allow for a good rest before or after the flight in the middle of your journey. Unfortunately I can say nothing about the breakfast as I had to leave way to early for it. Still based on the overall comfort level and the staff attitude I would rather bet the breakfast is an agreeable one.

There is nothing I can suggest right away. Probably I should have stayed longer to note something, but why should one want to stay longer in a hotel so close to the airport

The previous time we stayed at this hotel was in December 2022. Three months later, in April 2023 we were there again. Nothing changed since the last time: the hotel is still comfortable, quiet, cosy and clean. Sauna was great (not too hot and nicely moist). The breakfast is served starting at 5 a.m. It is very diverse and of a high quality. The hotel is located not far away from the airport offering free and frequent bus transportation that takes about 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly and patient dealing with some challenges related to paying.

Superb hotel. Clean, comfortable, efficient and well connected. They have a free shuttle and it is approx 10 minute ride to the hotel. The reception is friendly and they have adapters to let you borrow to charge your gadgets, which is necessary as the local airport and airlines are only built for Finnish plugs. The sauna is amazing and sadly is only open for a few hours at night from about 7pm to midnight. Thank you to the staff and particularly the manager who normally works days but was on night shift during my stay -- he pointed out the coffee machine in reception, which was much appreciated when you are jetlagged and waiting for the shuttle at 5am and will soon have to encounter the snow outside!

Reception didn't answer the phone number on the hotel website despite it going through to the Holiday Inn menu. They later said perhaps they were too busy at the time, but I am not sure it works at all, as I tried it a few times, from a Finnish phone. So -- if you are trying to phone them to find out about the shuttle, it is at the little covered booth/bus stop with a small bench, across the bus park from all the numbered bays, just outside the airport. The shuttle stops at several hotels near the airport, and runs automatically approx every 20-30 minutes -- it doesn't run all during the night but does nearly. The times are posted up inside the bus stop and it says 'Free Airport' Something bus, and is light blue.
