Dioni Hotel

The hotel is clean, decent, cozy and very friendly. It reminded me of my house. It is situated in a very central area, where you could almost walk on foot and reach every possible destination and sightseeing in the city of Ioannina. Special congratulations go to Iasonas, who was helping out in the front desk, who was very communicative, helpful and searched for us many details and information so as to visit the historic Museum of Vrellis.

We were welcomed at the reception desk and check in was fast and efficient. First impression was it was very clean and friendly, which it was. The air conditioning in the room was exceptional compared to other hotels we have stayed in and kept the room cool when outside temperatures were in mid 30’s C. The room was cleaned daily and towels changed. The twin single beds were extremely comfortable and we slept well, waking refreshed. The bathroom was finished to a high standard and looked very modern. The ‘Rainfall’ shower was powerful and worked well, there was no wait for the water to get hot. Continental breakfast had a good selection of food and available from 07:30-10:30. There was also a lounge area with comfortable couches to relax in. Location is perfect for the variety of shops and places to eat out and only a few minutes from the lake and tourist attractions.

There was nothing I did not like. If I were to find fault it would be that potentially there were not enough electrical plug sockets and none by the beds which I am used to.

Absolute five star treatment. Such helpful gracious friendly and attentive staff. I was sorry to miss breakfast, it smelled great. The location is excellent, cool downtown neighbourhood. The room was big & clean, my bed was comfy and so was the pillow!! Nice little balcony. There was a fridge and a wardrobe. The bathroom felt new, great design and really good shower! Lots of fast hot water. Good free wifi. I am not a driver, but the parking was so well indicated that even I noticed. I was only there for one night, but I would have been happy staying longer, super welcoming.

Was within a walking distance from everywhere , all hotel staff was very polite and happy to assist you on any of your requests or concerns . Room was very clean with a very nice bathroom . They would change your linen and clean room every day . Breakfast was nice , simple and healthy . We were there for a running event and they offered to open and start serving much earlier than scheduled time . Not many hotels will do that . Parking available at the property at any time . Highly recommended to anyone visiting town of Ioannina . Definitely staying there on my next visit .

Modern updated especially the WC. Great location just 15 min walk from bus station and a shorter walk to the Kastro and centre of town. Even better was the very helpful staff...young lady recommended authentic Greek food place and must say was best dinner in the 3 weeks in Greece and young man was also very helpful with maps and calling for info to make arrangements to see the Gorge. Great service and fabulous scenery.

Breakfast could have used a fresh fruit selection

My partner and I were on holiday on the island of Lefkada when he was suddenly taken ill and transferred from the hospital there over to Ioannia. I came by bus to be with him and checked into the Dioni hotel. I found it on booking.com and I'm so glad that I did. The staff have been excellent! They are attentive, friendly, polite and extremely helpful. The young man at Reception even downloaded an "off line" Google maps on my phone for me when I explained that I have limited data. The hotel itself is in an excellent position, perfectly situated for visiting this beautiful City. I only wish I was here under different circumstances and would jump at the chance to visit again!

There's absolutely nothing to dislike! Everything is perfect.

Hotel Dioni was in a perfect location in the centre of Ioannina and we had a lovely room with a small balcony overlooking the town with good air-con and a reasonable if limited breakfast included. There was also parking, rather tight access from the narrow street, but shady and convenient. A good, welcoming family-run hotel. We enjoyed our short stay. The archaeological museum was a short walk away and is really worth going to see! Thank you.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and clean. Checking in and out was super easy. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast as well. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the bus station.

The street, as others have mentioned, is a little run down with graffiti and empty shops. However the Dioni Hotel itself has a lovely street appearance and lobby area. The beds are quite firm but we slept well nonetheless.

Great location and extremely good value for money. 24/7 front desk. I was extremely late to check in at what I imagine must have been an annoying time, but it was no issue for which I was thankful after a long day’s travel. Ideally situated on a quiet street from streets from cool and interesting bars, and walking distance of bus station. Loved the retro telephone!

Room was large and well furnished. Good breakfast starting at 7.30 which was ideal since I had to leave early.

Parking is next to the hotel, but entrance to the car park is a bit small. I luckily had a small car, but, while I have not tried myself I got the impression that accessing the car park with a longer car or an SUV was going to be a challenge. Shower did not have a screen
