Headfort Arms Hotel

Facilities in the room were great, the toiletries from The Handmade Soap Company were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a fan, which was great for cooling down. Breakfast was good, some gluten free options including sweet treats like muffins which was nice. The Keltic bar next door had really tasty food and the locally made Kells Gin is definitely worth a try! Staff are really friendly and very helpful.

The front rooms are quite noisy from outside traffic and the windows are old, so don't muffle any sound. Fortunately, Caroline from the front desk was able to sort us out with another room at the back of the hotel, which was not only quieter but an upgrade.

The location was good. I liked the private parking Staff were very friendly The room was nice. I liked the garden & the seats at the front of the hotel. The breakfast was nice.

It was very very expensive for mid-week. Irish hotel prices are crazy now anyway & lost me during Covid when hotels went crazy looking for lost business but this was way above & beyond at over 200 euro. The escalator gave 2 big jumps every time it ascended. Quite jolting & even frightening. The safe didn't work. I followed the instructions many times & just couldn't be bothered mentioning to reception. Not good enough for 200 euro. The shower was in the bath - not good enough for 200 euro

Was upgraded for my birthday, had a beautiful bottle of prosecco chilling in the room on arrive, which was a lovely gesture, staff really friendly and best of all was the food, had the most amazing lasagne for lunch and breakfast on the sat morning was fab but needs working on the service, Well done guys, thanks for making my birthday extra special.. Deffo go back

Didn't seem to be much of a system at breakfast,. We had to ask for menu, try grab someone running by to order breakfast, then grab someone for tea, then grab someone for toast, we had no butter or milk brought to our table so had to ask people on the next table if we could borrow theirs, breakfast itself was fab but service is a bit messy

I loved my stay here. The hotel is lovely. Our room was nice and spacious. The staff were so nice. We had a spa treatment and afternoon tea, which was excellent. The food in the hotel bar was delicious. Thank you to all the staff for such an enjoyable stay

Stayed for 2 nights was very surprised to find on day two our room had not being cleaned ,tea coffee not replenished the room was stifling hot ,first morning breakfast was delicious second morning they had run out of yogurts and were waiting on a delivery not a big deal really but in my humble opinion there is nothing that tastes as good as an Irish yogurt ended up going to get some from the local shop ,it’s not what I would expect from such a hotel ,it would not stop me returning or recommending this hotel mistakes do happen and perhaps the cleaning of the room was overlooked and since covid we all know delivery of goods can be delayed hence not having my lovely Irish yogurt ,think I was just unlucky .

We landed late in the day at Dublin Airport and weren't really struck on what we read about the hotels that would have been on our doorstep. So we decided to stay in the famous old town of Kells which took us about an hour to drive to (allowing for the darkness, the rain and having to drive on a different side of the road to what we were used to). But we certainly made the right decision. The reception lady greeted us with a huge smile and told us everything we needed to know about the place whilst recognising that we were a wee bit travel weary. The hotel was a lovely old building decorated tastefully, the food in the restaurant was just what we had hoped for, the room was perfectly comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. We couldn't have wished for a better first night in Ireland and we will certainly return to this hotel.

Receptionist very friendly, our room was ready early and she offered it to us. Room was very clean, comfortable beds, good bedding, tea & coffee facility, spacious. Bathroom needed attention - cracked floor tiles, paint coming off some walls, grouting round shower. Quality of breakfast was very good, but disorganised service, waited a long time for tea/coffee and to order.

From the moment we checked in we were greeted with enthusiasm and friendliness. The hotel is excellently located to visit New Grange. Slane and Trim Castles which are well worth a visit. This Boutique Hotel provides a wonderful breakfast in nice surroundings.Would highly recommend to use this hotel as a base when touring the Boyne Valley. Keep up the good work wiill be returning

There was nothing we didnt like.

The staff just go out of there way to accommodate your needs, from the reception to the people taking orders for food and drinks, such a feeling of welcome as soon as you set foot in the door but it's just natural, nothing staged for the benefit of their reputation. Just a group of genuine nice people looking after their guests! Its my second time to stay there and I'll definetly come back.

I prefer a walk in shower than standing in a bath showering but that's just my preference, nothing wrong with the room/ bathroom at all.

Everything was great. We especially enjoyed eating in your restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was great and it was so convenient. We loved the delightful elderly gentleman that came to our breakfast table and shared his gift of gab! He’s an Irish treasure for sure! The young lady at the desk who watched our luggage so we wouldn’t be too late for dinner gave service with a smile! We would stay with you again in a heartbeat.
