Beautiful grounds, stunning location Friendly staff Quality and execution of dinner was fabulous Pets allowed in lake house rooms Irish sky garden was amazing, very zen. So different

Stayed in the lake house, communal areas in lake house not upto standard / music system not working. No honesty bar / soft drinks. Sink in communal toilet area was oily & dirty, felt grubby. Breakfast service was understaffed, breakfast food was under welcoming, nothing special Could do more to make the hotel more pet friendly. Water spots, pets allowed in bar area. Breakfast on designated area with pets Didn’t like walking through the very sloppy and dimly lit wood late at night to get from the Manor House to the lake house. Hotel should proactively offer a lift to the room in golf buggy. We got lost! Probably the glass of wine didn’t help! Pathways are very natural, but someone is going to trip, stumble and injure themselves

Breakfast choice excellent. Location fantastic for visiting nearby relatives

You need to be fairly fit to stay at the Lake Hhouse as parking is away from property and is quite a climb up from car park . No safe. No kettle for tea drinkers and had to ask for milk which went off quickly . Thought there would be a few more luxuries for a high end hotel.

The whole experience of Liss Ard Estate is something you got to experience for yourself. From the complementary glass of wine at check in to the private Leisure facilities at the lake to the beautiful extra spacious suite at the Lake House. All of the Staff were so helpful and informative about the Estate from the Sky Garden a must to experience to the talking stones and the estate walks. The Lakes side private Sauna, gym etc is an experience where you can swim in the lake if you can brave the cold water. The stillness and atmosphere as you walk is stunning. Breakfast is taken in the Manor house which is a 10 minute walk from the Lake house or a 2 minute drive. There is an excellent juice, cereal and bread selection along with a very good breakfast menu cooked to order. I must not leave out the Gardeners who were working tirelessly to maintain the estate yet had time to have a few words with you. Well done to all who made our stay a fantastic experience. P.s. thank you for arranging to send on the clothes we left behind.

It's not what we didn't like, about Liss Ard Estate,It's our mis fortune that we are not fish lovers. As the Dinner menu was not to our taste as it was mainly fish.Which meant we had to leave the Estate for our evening meal, however we went to a restaurant recommended by the Receptionist where we had a beautiful evening I certainly would recommend to add a little red meat to the evening meal menu. Another recommendation put long lasting milk in the rooms as it's not great to have to go down to the kitchen in the Lake house late at night.

Food was amazing. The gardens were lovely to walk around. Room had everything we needed.

The place lacked character. We thought we were staying in a character filled old estate and although it was old, it had been modernised so much it lacked warmth and character. The restaurant was very stark and sterile.

The food was absolutely amazing. The staff in the restaurant were excellent very friendly and efficient.

Stayed in Mews property which I felt was very over priced for what it was. Room was small, attic type ceilings. Bathroom cramped, grout between tiles in the shower was dirty and cracked. Spot light in the ceiling broken and not working. Overlooked on both sides-people can see straight into the room. Very noisy. It would be fine if the price wasn’t so high but when you pay a lot for a room it should be better. Perhaps the rooms in the main house are if a higher standard.

The breakfast was very good and we loved the surroundings. The main house looked beautiful and also the lake house looked gorgeous. The staff was friendly and asked if we need recomandations for dinner, etc.

The size of our room was just a joke for the price we payed. Our friends were lucky enough to get a better room on the ground floor. We had to bring our heavy luggage up a very narrow and steep staircase. In the room there was no space for the luggage and the bed was really, really tiny. The bathroom smelled bad, we had to keep the door closed at night.

It was a full on relaxation experience, the room was spacious featuring a really comfortable super king mattress, a bathroom with top quality bathroom fixtures. We couldn't get enough with relaxing in the bathtub next to the window overlooking beautiful scenery. The hotel area is huge, there are many kilometers of walking trails, many secluded places, a garden, a meadow. Restaurant food and wine quality is exceptional, a bit pricey but not over the top. Breakfast options sufficed and the eggs Benedict were great. Our stay wouldn't be complete without visiting an absolutely gorgeous private sauna on the lake. Definitely a must visit place!

A really minor comment related to the dinner. Sometime service was a bit slow, we waited for a side dish for our main and had to remind staff after a while. Otherwise everyone was very attentive, polite and not annoying at all.

Idyllic estate with wonderful grounds, walks, and a relaxing sauna experience by the lake. It is so refreshing to jump into the cold water after enjoying the heat with great views. Everybody was helpful and welcoming. The map and history provided were helpful. High-quality lunch and dinner. Cocktails were really good. The kayaking experience we booked was magical. Sky garden provides a meditative experience. Overall, it is a perfect spot to recharge and unwind.

Breakfast wasn't as tasty or disorganised with wrong items served. The staff quickly fixed them, but there seemed to be a systematic issue as it continued for three days. There is daylight with lunch/dinner experience. As a first world problem, it'd be nice to have the background of other parts like Talking Stones in the info provided. We'll definitely come back.

Comfortable room with back door to walled garden Hundreds of acres of wooded garden to roam The sky garden Best eggs Benedict ever for breakfast

This is a bit picky I know - most of the big pictures on the walls in the main house were annoyingly out of place- e.g. a giant photograph of Kylemore Abbey in Connemara takes pride of place in the hall. No connection to Liss Ard I know of other than both are in Ireland. Same goes for the large photographic portrait in the drawing room - three famous people sitting on a sofa in Leixlip Castle, Co Kildare. Lots of other examples throughout. It would be amazing if you had more images related to Cork or to this fine house and its great setting. The framed drawings of the sky garden were a good touch for example. And maybe firmer pillows? Otherwise it was great!

Great estate with beautiful gardens (Sky Garden not the only highlight but definitely a must). The hotel was just labeled Relais et Châteaux. It will get a worldwide recognition with this and it will help the new management improve even more the facilities over the coming years. We enjoyed very much the gym, sauna and swim in the lake. We also liked very much the private garden tour with Paul and we highly recommend it.

The property needs to get an essence of its history through its decor. It lacks paintings, pictures and objects that would make the rooms and buildings even more attractive.
