Westport Plaza Hotel, Spa & Leisure

Three of us stayed for 3 nights in 2 rooms. I complained about the initial bedroom I was allocated as it overlooked the outdoor bar area and there was a wedding on, coupled with the first hot weather in ages. The staff were incredibly helpful and whilst they couldn't relocate me the first night did change my room for the following two nights. The staff in general (front desk, restaurant, cleaning staff) were incredibly lovely and very helpful throughout out stay. The 2nd room I was given was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in (and I travel a lot). I would recommend getting a room with garden view if possible. Breakfast was great, swimming pool & sauna area were spotless, gym was a bit dated but just a sign the equipment was used a lot - which is a good thing. Dinner at the restaurant was also really nice. Location is brilliant as it is right in the centre of Westport. The parking is also plentiful.

Some of the balcony rooms overlook the outside bar area - not probably a problem if it is raining but there was unusual hot weather and it was very noisy on the first night. My initial room was a bit dated. It would be nice to have healthier snacks in the snack machines. The gym could use some air conditioning and some newer mats.

The buffet breakfast was nice. No hot food at all but cereals, breads, cheeses and meats were nice. The staff put in orders for eggs and other hot items on request. The room was large, clean, comfortable and I would not have asked for more. The bathroom is large as well and very well appointed.

The only drawback at all are that their stainless steel coffee pots do not hold the heat and the coffee was luke warm within minutes. One person had tea and the pot was thicker and held the heat.

not totally the hotel’s fault but large dinner party did not respect their dinner booking time and we were delayed 45 mins before we got seated at our table. this on the day we travelled down and could only get an 8.15 sitting. weirdly this didn’t happen on our previous visit and we put it down to COVID protocols. The managers were totally sympathetic and got our orders in quickly and took care of us. well appreciated. with the level of people wanting to ease back on boozing it’s odd the hotel doesn’t have 00 beer and stout on tap. highly recommend that do so and they will be surprised by the uptake.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Westport town centre and local amenities. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast offer is plentiful. Staff work extremely hard to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be and nothing is too much trouble. Particularly enjoyed the entertainment in the Castlecourt sister hotel. Look forward to returning to Westport the near future.

A reserved parking space for hotel guests would be ideal as it was hit and miss at times trying to secure a parking space.

Room was large and spacious with good facilities. Members of staff were friendly and efficient with a special mention to the warm welcome we received on arrival at the reception desk. We loved the leisure facilities. We didn't eat in the restaurant but breakfast was the best we had eaten during our holiday in Ireland. The hotel was located really conveniently for accessing the town.

If I'm being really picky, I found the pillows too hard and prefer a feather pillow.

We stayed for our honeymoon. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. In our room there was a bottle of prosecco, 2 small bottles of white and red wine and chocolate muffins for us, with a lovely welcome card and congratulations message which was just so lovely. The bed was soo comfy and the room was very spacious. The cleaning staff were so friendly and always smiling, they were so approachable and if we needed anything at all they were so helpful. Overall we were so happy with our stay. The hotel should be so proud of the staff they have as each and every single one of them looked so happy and there was a great sense of team work and morale. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay😊

Only little thing is the spa bath (the jacuzzi part didn't work) but honestly it's only a minor thing, still had a bath and it was so relaxing.

The Hotel is an excellent Hotel. Staff are brilliant it is spotlessly clean and in centre of Westport which makes it an ideal place to stay.

Their lighting in the Suite we stayed in could be much brighter especially in Bathroom. Trying to put make up on in poor lighting isn’t good. I know there is access to entertainment in Castlecourt but would be ideal if there could be some in Westport Plaza

Great location. The rooms were clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable and the jacuzzi bath was great. Breakfast was delicious with a wonderful variety. All the staff that we encountered from the moment we arrived were friendly and so helpful. The pool facilities were super and a big hit with our teenagers. We dined in Covey’s on our first night and enjoyed the meal so much that we ate in the restaurant on the other two nights of our stay.

Parts of the hotel are a little tired and worn such as the doors and door frames when entering the hotel rooms. The carpets are also a bit worn looking.

They really went above and beyond for my partners birthday, we stayed two nights. We also visited the spa and got treatments it is a fabulous place really modern up to date and clean. The food at the restaurant was fabulous and very generous portions just perfect two night away I could not fault one thing. The staff where all friendly and very welcoming. Waiting staff in the restaurant where very efficient and professional. The cocktails looked amazing really was a weekend to remember and I thank all the staff at the hotel for making my partners birthday so special from the room staff, to the spa staff and restaurant they really have an amazing team. Especially the lady that I had my treatment with in the spa, a special mention to her she was amazing and so nice apologies I have forgotten your name.

Their is nothing to mention at all was a 5 star experience from start to finish and that truly highlights what a great team of staff they have and management, a brilliant example of investing in your staff and property it was well worth the money for having and amazing birthday.

The property was located in the middle of the town and close to all amenities. It had good facilities with an underground car park, a leisure centre, a restaurant and bar. The restaurant catered for vegans like me as well with potions for breakfast as well as dinner. A particularly outstaying feature was the free electric car charging in their underground car park. As the owner of an electric car, this was a major bonus in particular as the charging network is not very dense in the West of Ireland. On that point alone I can recommend the hotel as a great location in Westport.

The hotel was overall fine, nothing outstanding but solid catering for a variety of guests.
