Andrea and his staff are really the stars of this quaint beautiful hotel. Even thought it only has 6 rooms it oozes charm, warmth, amazing service and fabulous food and a lovely buffet breakfast is included. A trip to the local cheese factory was suggested and arranged. Wonderful! We also had an impromptu tour of some of the area with a stop atop one of the local hills for a spectacular view of the region. Locals are very friendly and there is a balsamic vinegar producer in the piazza by the clock tower. The bells of the church tower play a tune at 630pm every evening. Magical. This was our second stay here and we are planning our next trip. So worth it if you want off the beaten path and a uniquely tuscan experience.

Everything was like we expected. The room was clean, with plenty of utilities, and had that rustic Italian allure. The beds were comfy and spacious. The service was immaculate, and the breakfast was versatile and rich. The communication with the owner was delightful. He helped us with everything we needed. I highly recommend this hotel, especially to couples, because of the romantic vibe of it and the town of Castelvetro di Modena, but also to all the people touring Italy with a car since they can easily visit all the landmarks of the Emilia Romagna region from there. Special thanks to the charming young lady who served us breakfast and coffee and greeted us with a beautiful smile every morning!

This B&B was one of my favorites during our travels through Italy, and the best value by far. It’s in a tiny but charming town with two exceptional restaurants, one being run by the B&B, and a great place in the square for cocktails. Staff is lovely. We explored nearby balsamic vinegar and parmesan makers, toured the Lamborghini factory, and visited Bologna and Modena. We loved that this B and B was outside the regular tourist destinations.

Everything was excellent!

I chose this location because we were visiting the Ferrari Museums. I really was not sure what to expect. The little village was charming, the room was clean and comfortable (but simple), but the hotel was really charming, breakfast was really good, and dinners were FANTASTIC! The staff was helpful, friendly and made our stay very nice!

I really think that since the hotel is so charming and quaint, that the rooms could be made a little more charming, rather than spartan. With that being said, our stay was very comfortable!

I booked and it showed only 2 rooms available a classic and deluxe suite for 20 euros per night more so I called the hotel and the lady informed me best to book on line through booking.com which we did! our rooms were exactly the same! upon leaving I discussed this and was told they only advertise one of each room! I had called the hotel for that reason anyhow since the 6 room hotel was empty I was disappointed they did not adjust the rate!

Service and courtesy of the staff was excellent. Food is creative and full of what you might expect from a top Italian restaurant. Room was spacious and comfortable without being uselessly exotic!

Not a lot! If this is your expectation of staying in a small but beautiful Italian town/village In sn unspoilt and genuine establishment, this fits the bill.

The breakfasts were over the top. Dinner was elegant. The restaurant will have a Michelin star one day soon. This is all a reflection of the talented and attentive staff. Andrea, Eduardo and Priya made us feel at home. They assisted us in so many ways, and without the lightest bit of stuffiness.

It would have been better to stay longer. A great location for quiet touring.

This is a gem. Nice, beautiful, calm and relaxing hotel/Locanda in an old, charming building with nice surroundings. I loved everything, but the most outstanding thing was the staff. They are welcoming, helpful, respectful and really make sure you enjoy your stay and are observant to little details, La Locanda has a restaurant with a Michelin star and I hade an outstanding dinner there, so so good. Be sure to stay more than one night here!

Lovely hotel in an amazing location. We worked from a distance here for a week and the wifi was good and lots of work space. The staff were lovely. The restaurant is really excellent. It's pretty easy to reach by public transport from Modena.

We didn't really rate the breakfast - nothing wrong with it, but nothing super special either.

Nice location, right in the middle of an old village. Great restaurant! Large room with a high ceiling (we were on the top floor)

The bathroom is a bit small. Street noises at night were surprising for such a small village. The restaurant did not have vegetarian main courses (we ended up with fried spinache) although that did not spoil the otherwise vegetarian dinner.
