Hotel Lenno

Similar to other reviews, I was a little worried by the outdated photos but this hotel exceeded my expectations by far! Our attic room was very modern and spacious actually. Location was excellent right next to the bus and ferry stops. Can pay 15€ for an all day ferry pass to visit the central lake areas (eg Bellagio and Varenna). Hotel amenities, staff support and breakfast all exceeeded expectations! Cannot recommend more. Also the resto isn’t too shabby.

Not the fault of the hotel, but you can’t count on a rapid ferry from Como to Lenno these days! We ended up on the C10 bus as the ferries were fully booked upon arrival to Como (and it wasn’t possible to book them in advance). In the end, it was totally fine as the route was actually quite scenic. You could also pay 200€ for a private pickup thru the hotel.

Excellent hotel, perfect location across the road from ferry stop. Peaceful town but still plenty of dinner options around within walking distance. Good large room, if a little dated. Lovely refurbished bathroom though! Pool looked nice although we didn't use it. Amazing restaurant within the hotel - make sure to book a table as it fills up quickly!

Breakfast not that good with limited options but we found something to eat every morning. If travelling by ferry please be wary the quick ferry sells out often and you are not able to book this in advance online, and only can purchase a ticket for the same day at ferry terminals. Cause a big headache on our first day getting across from Como - in the end we managed to find a bus instead. Obviously this is in no way reflection of the hotel just something to keep in mind. Also the man operating the ticket office at Lenno ferry stop is often no where to be seen, don't worry he will turn up in the end - often very last minute!

The location and views from our room were amazing. Every single staff member we encountered was so nice. Especially the people at the front desk, they helped us with transportation options around the lake. We would have been so lost without their help. We enjoyed the pool, bar, and complimentary breakfast. The location to the ferry station could not be closer, literally just steps from the lobby. (FYI I would advise planning extra time to travel via ferry as some of the high speed ferries are currently closed as of early July, causing the normal ferries to be extra crowded. Upon arrival, we ended up spending $$$ on a private car to get from Como city to Lenno due to the ferries being inundated with weekend travelers. Then on our way back to the como lago train station we were unknowingly on the slow ferry for 3 hours, shoulder to shoulder, standing room only, suitcases stacked everywhere in midday heat. It was an interesting experience. We did not expect this and regretting not preparing better ahead of time. But this had nothing to do with the hotel). About a 30 minute walk from the hotel lobby to Villa Balbianello, but it is definitely worth the walk and would recommend stopping along the way at one of the lake front restaurants for dinner and drinks on your way back. Lenno is such a cute, sleepy little town and this hotel is a gem. We were so pleased with our decision to stay here versus other popular towns on the lake. They are fun to visit during the day but we loved feeling like we were going back to our little safe haven each night. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel restaurant seemed a bit over priced for the small portions that were served. It does seem to have a more upscale/fancier feel than some of the other restaurants a 5 min walk up the road, but it didn't blow us out of the water. We ate here simply for the convenience after a busy day and were still a little hungry after. We would probably have chosen one of the more laid back places as that is more of our vibe. But to each their own.

Excellent location, right in front of the port for Lenno. Our room had a lateral lake view and it did not disappoint! The view was outstanding, overlooking the lake. Easy to get to key Lake hot spots such as Bellagio (approx 30 mins on ferry) and easy to get to Lenno's Villa del Balbianello by foot in 15-20 mins. Staff in the hotel were helpful and approachable. Decent breakfast, plenty of choice. Room size was lovely, spacious and separate decent sized bathroom and little shower - hair gel/conditioner/body lotions provided. Mini bar had a couple complimentary water bottles and fizzy drinks. Lovely restaurant attached to the hotel, great dinner options and great serving staff.

Overall hotel decor is a little outdated but absolutely not a deal breaker. To iron your clothes, they have a separate ironing room on the ground floor for which you need to ask for a key at Reception, and so they don't bring it to your room.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a suite overlooking the pool, Lake Como and surrounding mountains. The bathroom was enormous with both a separate shower and a good-sized bath. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast, which is served on a terrace above the lake, offered lots of variety including delicious cake and pastries. We wanted to visit Varenna and Villa Monastero plus other gardens around Lake Como and Hotel Lenno is ideally situated right at the ferry wharf. The gardens of Villa del Balbianello are walking distance from the hotel. Villa Carlotta is a short ferry ride. The hotel is quiet and peaceful.

The staff was over the top, so helpful and kind. They have a great restaurant right on the water. Rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel is right across from the Ferry Port so transportation is very easy. There is a great walking path all through the town if you want a little adventure, beautiful views and on the quieter side.

There was nothing wrong with the hotel but it is helpful to know that in the area if you do not have a car there are not a lot of options for food on certain days. We didn't plan well and everything was closed in the area mid week.

Thej jacuzzi bath and the free availability of a sauna for you and your group is very spa like. The staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean and organised. The boat to the other villages is just outside the front door. Breakfast was also very extensive and tasty.

The hotel is almost like two buildings put together so if you're staying on one side you have to go all the way down to the ground floor to come up the otherside however that's barely a problem. The restaurant is a little pricey however the food is delicious. The bus ride to the location can be a lot and the roads are curvy so can make you motion sick if you get that.

Great experience overall. Had a very nice atmosphere, more of a boutique hotel. The staff was genuine, exceptionally friendly and service-minded beyond what is expected. The view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains from from outside the main entrance was spectacular and the pool area was relaxing and added that little extra to our overall experience. The ferry to towns like Como, Bellagio and Varenna leaves just outside the hotel, making it a perfect home-base from where to do daily bot trips to other towns around Lake Como. We extended our stay by four nights because our experience was tremendous.

Wi-Fi was okay, but not great. Breakfast was great, but not exceptional.

The location is excellent. You can get around easily and it’s nice to come back to after a long day as it’s so relaxing and tranquil at this place on the lake. The staff are so helpful and kind. Restaurant is good. Having a pool is great. I first visited this hotel nearly 20 years ago and everything and everyone that made it special then have not changed now. Highly recommend

If I had to mention one thing it would be the height of the toilet in our room. It was far too high. Maybe this room had been a disabled room previously?

The location is perfect — a beautiful view, near to a few restaurants/bars, but still peaceful. The ferry stop outside the hotel makes it easy to reach Bellagio and Como. The hotel is traditionally beautiful from the outside, yet modern and comfy inside. The parking garage is convenient and safe. The restaurant was tasty with creative dishes and very friendly staff.

The room was basic and not as modern or chic as the common areas of the hotel. The bed was comfy, but the sofa and desk chair were not. The room was not well soundproofed so we were woken up very early to the sound of suitcases being wheeled past the room. The breakfast was ok, not a big variety.
