Villa Lario Resort Mandello

Completely uninterrupted views of the lake, we didn’t find a more beautiful spot for the view. The Villa is stunning and has beautifully maintained gardens and pool area. Staff were attentive and friendly. It was nice to have access to the small private beach to swim in the lake. Breakfast was nice, we didn’t eat at the restaurant as we preferred to explore and find a busier atmosphere. If you like very exclusive, this is for you.

Located on a busy road, about 20 minute walk (if you’re brave enough) to the main town with train station and ferry port, we didn’t mind but keep in mind if you don’t have a car and want to explore other towns on the lake or visit other restaurants/bars. Our door handle on the room was broken for the duration of our 3 night stay, would have expected more from a 5 star hotel.

Absolutely wonderful stay. My wife and I visited for our honeymoon, and were treated like absolute royalty. The property itself is gorgeous, with sweeping views of the lake. Our room was finely furnished, and had a large circular window looking out directly onto the lake. However, what really stole the show was the service, in particular, the concierge Lurde. She is so friendly and knowledgable and kept us from making more than one travel blunder. Yes, Villa Lario is expensive, but we felt it was more than worth it.

A few things - Villa Lario is not easy to get to, and you have to take a taxi to get to the main ferry stop in Varenna. It also would've been a bit better if there was a cheaper dining option on site. Amandus, the restaurant, is very good, but it is an upscale restaurant.

This hotel provided us with a perfect stay next to the lake, they were kind enough to upgrade our room upon arrival as we had our 9 month old baby with us, the grounds of the hotel are really beautiful and scenic, the staff were all wonderful and because of the limited number of rooms it felt very private. we were interested in doing some hiking in nature and managed to find a couple of lovely paths not far from the hotel, would happily recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in the area.

They have a beautiful restaurant in the hotel however we just felt the food fell a bit short of our expectation when we had dinner there.

Dreamy boutique luxury hotel on the Lecco side of the lake. It had only a few rooms and give the feeling of home away from home. Very exclusive, a hidden gem Property absolutely stunning. Beautiful view overlooking the lake with a very extended and well preserved park with a fantastic pool. We had the suite with the terrace and having breakfast on the terrace with the lake view was amazing. Very relaxing place and fantastic service We will definitely be back!

Quite possibly the best place l've ever stayed. I've travelled extensively around the world and stayed at many lovely places but Villa Lario del Mandello has left me speechless. The Villa, room, pool and services were all exceptional but it is the location and setting that takes your breath away. It feels very exclusive, private and peaceful, and with only a few rooms in the Villa it is unlikely that peace will ever get interrupted. We had the Tivano room which has its own private garden and access to the beach. We ate breakfast in our private garden overlooking the lake every morning, simply awesome! Our room was large with tasteful decor with an amazing view of the lake that you can see whilst lying in bed. I simply have no words how special Villa Lario del Mandello is. I will most definitely return.

Private beautiful location on Lake Como,the villa is tastefully decorated with complete large suites and common areas. the furnishings are of exceptional Italian quality and style The restaurant is of Michelin star quality and the views are spectacular The staff were excellent and pleased to be of service, the director Sergio’s creation of wine pairings was fabulous and “bang” on. Our waiter Ahamed was always available with a smile, be it at poolside or the dining room

Its amazing for relaxation. Very Relaxing, and we weren't inundated with crowds or business. Situated in an amazing part of the Lake. Private Beach access without the business off Bellagio.

Beautiful quiet setting. Pool was lovely. Staff were fabulous.

About 20mins walk to town or to the train station with limited taxis available, it makes it hard without a car if you stay here. We like to walk so it was ok for us. It would be great if they had a car or van that could transport you if required or pick you up from the train station at least.

Loved how spacious the whole resort was . The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean and i loved the night notes i found on my bed every night.

I didn't like that they didn't have anything for me to eat as a vegan. I can understand the first day, but even after i have informed them about my diet, they didn't make any effort to cook me one singly meal .

Location, location, location. With the suites overlooking lake Como, there couldn't have been a more perfect place. The balcony with the view and breakfast served each morning was a delight. Staff and facilities were great. One of the best stays we have had in a while
