Hotel Casa Marinella

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean on arrival. The pool and outside areas were lovely. The breakfast room was clean and had great views. The breakfast was good. Coffee machine, juice, eggs, meats and cheeses, fruit, cereals, toast and pastries. The view from the room was beautiful and the balcony was great. The toiletries were good.

The room was basic, there was only 1 socket and this was for the minibar and kettle. There was a socket in the bathroom for the hairdryer but this is not enough for also charging phones and using other electrical equipment. We were given paper cups for tea and coffee and these were not replenished after the first day. The glasses were only rinsed out by the cleaner. The beds were not made each day though the cleaner came in each day and just threw the covers back over the bed, which was hardly worth the effort. There was a smell of drains in the bathroom. There is a steep slope and lots of stairs so would not be suitable for people who aren’t physically fit. There are dogs.

Breakfast was very good, with many options. The view from the lake view room and balcony was spectacular. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel didn't feel too crowded and had multiple areas to sit outside and enjoy the view e.g. by the pool or breakfast hall.

Some breakfast items didn't seem to be replenished well at 9am, an hour before breakfast finishes. The scrambled egg wasn't kept hot by the heater underneath which appeared to be turned off. You could hear noises from the other rooms e.g. toilet flushing, and from the hallway, probably as this is an older building and the doors aren't as thick as in other hotels.

We chose mountain view room and it was very nice, but to enjoy your stay more you should take the lake view, where you could have your wine on the balcony. Nice breakfast to start your day. and very helpful owner. We really appreciated possibility of early check-in. We just wanted to leave the car and go biking, but the lady owner let us use our room, just because it was already set-up for us from the morning. It's good location, easy, short walk to the city, where you can take ferry to different places on Garda Lake. Ferry stop in summer is just at the other site of the road.

Great location with a lovely 10 minute walk into town. Hotel spotlessly clean. Great breakfast. Hotel shut from 7pm so was given our own key to get into building which worked well.

Room a bit old fashioned. Did pay for a superior room which was lovely but view from balcony was on side so no real sunshine on it, so we downgraded to a lower standard room with a great view on front of hotel. Did not get any money back for downgrading however. Very steep incline to walk/drive up with a tight bend - not for the faint hearted.

Great location, across the road from the beach and 15 mins walk along the beach pathway to Malcesine. Fantastic breakfast. Beautiful view from our balcony. Marinella, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Lovely clean and modern room. Lovely pool. Would definitely stay again.

60 steps to my hotel room but to be fair there are steps everywhere in Italy.

The view was amazing. Having breakfast in the morning looking out over the lake was just wonderful. Good choice at breakfast with lovely coffee Staff are very friendly and helpful

The fridge was very small in the room and the walk up the drive from the road is very steep (but definitely worth it for the amazing views) Definitely not for anyone with a disabity There were a few guests that had dogs with them which is not ideal to me when I am on holiday. Although none of them were a problem

I loved that it was right infront of the lake with a balcony, the staff was so amazing and so welcoming and made me feel so special for my birthday.

No negatives, just a crazy steep hill to get to the property but that's fine lol

Breakfast was impeccable ,we had separate table with our room number every morning, all prepared with cups plates utensils,we were not expecting that,just fabulous Italians are absolutely the best,when it comes to hospitality...WOW!!!

Superb location with views of the lake; and great hosts. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool (though admittedly its a little small for the number of guests this place can cater to) .

newly renovated, the hotel rooms need a little more working - the A/c was working but not controllable from the room- had to go to reception to get it turned on; and one could n't change the temperature; the door of the bathroom was not lockable (due to broken lock)

The location was perfect for us, a short walk along the lake in to the centre of Malcesine. Incredible views of the lake and mountains. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was great with lots of options. The swimming pool, hot tub and sun loungers were perfect to come back to after a day exploring the lake. Would recommend the cable car to Monte Baldo, boat to Limone, a visit to the castle and a swim in the lake.
