The hosts (Antonio & Gianmarco) went above and beyond (from giving us a detailed map of the city and suggestions for what to see and where to eat, to helping my partner sort out his Italian sim card for his phone). Breakfast on the upstairs patio was beautiful - the views are incredible. The room was comfortable. The BnB is located below a historic castle - walk down (many stairs - or take the tram!) and you're in the thick of Naples with many tourist attractions, walk up (less stairs) you're in a great neighbourhood with many good restaurants and shopping. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

Personally everything went smooth for us :)! However, just as an FYI you cannot access the property directly by car - you need to walk down stone steps in the side of the hill. The was totally manageable for us but might be a challenge for people with mobility issues or heavy luggage.

This B&B was definitely a highlight during our stay in Naples. We have both traveled a lot and can say with confidence that this was the best B&B experience we ever had. Gianmarco is an incredibly friendly host whose knowledge of Naples - Italian history, architecture, tourism and cuisine - truly enriched our trip. In fact, following his advice we discovered so many amazing sides of Naples we would’ve never thought to visit otherwise. He is an impeccable host, from welcoming us with excellent directions, to always being available on whatsapp and serving us a variety of delicious Italian pastries and coffee on the most gorgeous terrace overlooking Naples and Vesuvius every morning, it doesn’t get better than this. The location is great, steps down from Castel Sant'Elmo with views of the city you won’t want to miss. The Palais is in a category of its own - definitely worth staying at this stunningly renovated one-of-a-kind place. There are several public transportation stations a short walk away and we had some of Naples‘ best food close to the Palais. A must stay when visiting Naples; we are already dreaming about a return!

Le Petit Palais is not only stylish but has a superb location: the sights of the city are easily accessed by metro and funicular and good restaurants are to be found nearby. Breakfast on the roof terrace with wonderful views over the city and port to Vesuvius was a highlight. Our hosts were kind, helpful and are great communicators, giving helpful advice, recommendations and even happy to book us a taxi! Their housekeeper was welcoming, gracious and accommodating. Altogether a great pleasure - we wished we could have stayed longer!

Although having breakfast on the terrace was a great pleasure, the food was rather chocolate-heavy, with a chocolate croissant, chocolate tart and chocolate paninis! We would have preferred plain croissants and some yoghurt to complement the melon and fresh orange juice.

Everything about the property is exceptional. We stayed in a room with amazing views right over the city. It was clean, comfortable and very modern. Gianmarco &. Antonio are passionate about their business and their Country and it shows in everything they do. Antionio gave us instructions on how to get around Naples and marked out places to visit. Gianmarco was on hand at any time to recommend restaurants, local attractions. Breakfast was served on a balcony with a view to die for. The produce was local, fresh and delicious. There is nothing we didn’t like. Although we have to mention the steps to the property may be a challenge for some people.

The hosts were absolutely wonderful and made our stay in Naples unforgettable. Antonio’s tips were so helpful to us, and we did almost everything he recommended to us. It made such a great difference to our stay in Naples. The room was great, a nice size and wonderfully quiet to sleep at night. We also really loved breakfast and the lovely lady who served it to us. The view from the terrace at breakfast is also phenomenal. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! We would recommend to anyone visiting Naples and we would definitely like to return to Le Petit Palais!

Nothing. It was absolutely perfect. Exceeded our expectations.

The room was lovely and very comfortable and very quiet. Well decorated and in a unique location. So easy to get down the stairs to the old part of town & not far from the funicular. The terrace view is stunning and breakfast was perfect for me. A cappuccino, a warm pastry, some yoghurt and fruit.

It wasn't too big a problem for me but if you travel with heavy luggage or have any physical injury this is not the place for you. To get to the amazing location you have to go down quite a lot of steep steps which of course is then also the way out so you'll have to take yourself & luggage back up at the end of your stay & that is much harder than the way down!

First off, the location is extraordinary. The view from our room was gorgeous and the balcony where breakfast is served is even better. The entire staff was friendly and went above and beyond at every turn. The attention to detail was great. They provided detailed instructions on how to navigate from the airport to the hotel, had detailed information and maps printed for us in the event we did not have cell service, offered tons of help and time planning our daily excursions, and readily lent the local perspective on the easiest ways to accomplish what we wanted to do and see. Our Italian is very poor so they even arranged for our taxi on the day we departed. They were extremely responsive and answered any questions I had within minutes and with very comprehensive answers. They really went the extra mile! The bed was also extremely comfortable. (firm)

To clarify, the following is not something we disliked, merely something that people should be aware of. We came to Naples specifically to walk, eat, and explore so the stairs were not only expected, but enjoyed (gotta burn off the pasta and pizza) but I could see if someone had mobility issues, it might be difficult to access the hotel. It was 80 steps I believe, maybe 1-2 minutes to get from the hotel back up to the street access and another 10 minutes to the funicular or you could just go down the stairs towards seaside or the city center (about 18-30 minutes depending on your destination). We skipped the funicular for most of our trip and made the climb between the historic district and the hotel several times a day and found it quite bracing.

Staying at Le Petit Palais was truly one of the reasons we enjoyed Naples as much as we did. Its located in a very peaceful and safe part of Naples and we were able to enjoy so many parts of the Italian culture from this alone. Public transport was easily accessible and it was overall a great location. I stayed with two other friends and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. We were even provided with a map of the general area for places we should visit during our stay. Breakfast was served every morning and usually accompanied with a beautiful view from the terrace. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about our stay here. It was safe, comfortable and clean. Everyone was very kind and lovely. I highly recommend this as a place to stay if you’re in the Largo San Martino area.

Marco was the most amazing host we’ve ever experienced when staying away. His customer service completely spot on. He genuinely could not have done more for us during our stay. Nothing at all was too much trouble - he is clearly very passionate about what he does and is exceedingly good at it too! This apartment was very high up in Naples which meant it was also lovely and quiet (bonus!), but this just made the stay all the more perfect. The views from our room and the balcony where you have breakfast were utterly breathtaking! Photos don’t even do it justice. Marco messaged before we arrived and gave us advice for getting to Le Petit Palace which we are eternally grateful for! We just got an Uber (cost us around £20/€23) to the castle at the top and took 97 (yes I counted) down to the most beautiful accommodation. We honestly could not fault this place, utter perfection! Breakfast in the morning was very tasty and even had some freshly made - still warm - Neapolitan pastries. Marco even wet out of his way to give us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We also personally recommend viewing the sunset from the top of the castle at the top of the hill. We would have no doubt about staying here again, it is worth every penny and so much more. We will definitely be recommending to our friends.

Gianmarco made us feel very welcome as soon as he opened the door to us for our 4 night stay. Petit Palais has been recently reformed, all the installations are new and of excellent quality. The bed was so comfy too. It’s location is amazing overlooking Naples very close to the castle, in a quiet area, just need to be prepared to walk up/down 80-90steps to reach and leave the accommodation but well worth it. Gianmarco gave us great suggestions to do our own walking tour to see the best of Naples by foot, where to eat close by and how to use the funicular which is a short walk away. As long as the weather is good breakfast is served on the terrace with views of the city - an added bonus! 10 out of 10
