Hotel Joli

Very good and quiet location. Helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Interesting old building with lots of paintings. Very good value for money.

The bathroom was old but serviceable, some guests complain about it but this is fairly reflected in the three star rating and the price.

Location, room, breakfast.

Having paid the bill in cash and given a receipt by the receptionist, we were accused by the night receptionist of not paying the whole amount, and had to produce the receipt to prove as much. Never got an apology.

Firstly on arrival the receptionist was telling me the breakfast schedule after directing me to my room, he also told us where breakfast was held, and I asked about Television and he showed me a remote and told me how to use it and told me which well known channels they had and he did say they only had subtitles in italian language. I accidently damaged a balcony handle in our room by using the handle wrongly in an attempt to lock the door. Mortified I went down in the elevator to groundflloor reception member who said he would pass this to his colleague by the time I had re-entered our room the colleague was knocking on my door with TOOLBOX and replacement locks and handles it was then CHANGED IMMEDIATELY !!! and with a smile I also asked to be moved to a room further across hall from elevator as WIFI would cut out depending where I stood. Once I moved to the other room I had WIFI signal continuously. Very quiet hotel, shame as its a lovely building and the three receptionists are staff are really approachable and the cleaning team and chef are all friendly. The hospitality team deserve to be paid a much much higher rate per hour.

This is a lovely building restored as a hotel property which I think at one time was a private residence. All but the first floor had a beautifully decorated setting room with period furniture and painted ceilings. Beautiful ceiling molding and paintings everywhere. There was a 24 hour reception area. It was located near several nice restaurants and a high class shopping area (Prada, Rolex,Gucci, etc) and the airport bus. It was very affordable. I had a balcony overlooking a park. There was a refrigerator and hair dryer. I was a solo traveler and asked for a single room, so it was smaller. I felt very safe here. They made Americano coffee for me.

The breakfast had wonderful pastries and fruit juice, but no fresh fruit. It was a bit of a walk to the Via Emmanuelle and Via Roma area with a lot of the antiquities attractions. The bed mattress was hard. I found hard mattresses the rule in almost all the places I stayed in Italy and Sicily though. Bathroom also typically small.

Within walking distance to a lot of the sights.

Room 109 is located on the 2nd floor. When you open the door, you are faced with a narrow spiral staircase, which is very steep ( like a ladder ) I would not recommend this room to ANYONE. It is very hard to bring luggage up or down. Also I felt so bad for the cleaning staff, I did not have them clean our room until we left, only because I can't imagine them going down there with supplies.

A great budget hotel in the heart of the city, Hotel Joli punches well above it's weight. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the staff were great. We were woken each morning with the delicious smells of baking which drifted up through building from the kitchens. The breakfast was typically Italian with a great range of cakes pastries and sweet treats(there were healthy options as well but try the lemon cake....delicious! I would describe Hotel Joli as a bit of a 'find' great value great location, welcoming staff and a great breakfast (did I mention the lemon cake??)

Loved the location. The old fashioned feel of the hotel. 24 hour reception. Found the breakfast different from what we would at home but still liked it. The bedroom had an old era feel about it.

Nothing really. Noise from traffic but not much the hotel could do about that.

Breakfast was great. Valet parking was good. Recommend due to parking challenges in high volume traffic area. Clean fresh towels were appreciated.

Windows were very old and did not secure. All traffic noise is in your room which is not a big deal until about 8am. The real treat is the cigarette smell and chatter your wake up to because of the window situation. Clean.

Breakfast was great. More than enough. Coffee was first class. Quiet and enjoyable with a good selection of breads, pastry, meat and cheese. Cereal, Yoghurt and fruit and cake. A superb start to the day!

No Kettle, tea or coffee facility. The room was very nice and would have been perfect for us with some facility to make afternoon tea or coffee. That's just being picky though.

Breakfast was very good: fresh pastries and bread and excellent coffee. Staff helpful and courteous. Location excellent for what we wanted to see; Theatro Massimo, Cathedral and various museums all within easy waking distances. Quirky decor which I really liked!

Fresh orange at breakfast would have been perfect!
