Everything was beautiful and amazing. Deceptive from the outside. Once you enter, it is truly worth every bit of it. The furnishings, the art, the chandeliers - it was fun to be a small part of it. Beds were comfortable, rooms and baths roomy and spacious. Close, easy walk to most sights. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. They helped us with our luggage and parked our car in a garage. They gave recommendations for great restaurants and made a reservation for us for dinner. We had wine in the ballroom, and they brought out appetizers. We felt pampered. A truly unique and fun experience. I only wish I had known more about it before, as we would have stayed more than 1 night. Enjoyed the town as well.

This is a stunning architectural delight - a privately owned hotel created in a substantial part of what had been Count Arnaboldi’s palace in the heart of charming Pavia. With beautiful decor, spacious rooms, the centrepiece is a gorgeous huge double-height sitting room where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Grand doors lead from here to the circular internal balcony beneath the spectacular glass dome of the impressive former merchant’s hall. What a fantastic building! Paolo, the owner, is the perfect gentleman. Quiet, calm and professional, he discreetly looks after his guests and is happy to talk about the building, it’s history, and offer advice on the town. it seems nothing is too much trouble for him: we called in advance to advise that we had been hugely delayed. Paolo waited up till we finally arrived at 4am and welcomed us in person. Thank you Paolo - your kindness was much appreciated.

It felt like staying in a palace. Linen sheets, comfortable bed, large bathroom with soaking tub, antiques everywhere, and a Juliette balcony. Breakfast is in a ballroom with a 19th century chandelier and 20 ft ceilings. The staff were very accommodating, helping with reservations and restaurant recommendations which were spot on. They even had bug spray.

The front door was difficult to find because we were looking for large doors and a lobby and walked around the whole complex before we saw the sign. But once you find the door, it’s all good.

The location in the old historic center of Pavia. The hotel atmosphere; the beautiful and refined decorated room breathing an historic ambiance yet with all modern features of a luxury hotel ( comfy bed, great bathroom). far most we loved the welcoming staff. charming and so kind. Thank you for going out of your way to make this a beautiful and stay. We highly recommend your hotel!

Absolutely loved this place. Paolo was as a super host - he helped us carry in the luggage and was available for any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the breakfast in the majestic dining room. Great location, super central. This will be our go-to location whenever we go to Pavia.

A little noisy from people outside in the streets, but to be expected in the city center. Just bring some earplugs. It’s totally worth putting up with it as hotel is really great!

Location is excellent in the center of town. They took excellent care of us it’s a small 19th century palace with huge rooms, fully remodeled huge bathrooms. Staff very accesible extremely friendly and went out of the way to provide comfort and guidance during our stay. We loved our time in Pavia

Amazing place featuring antiques and simply absurdly large, gorgeous rooms. I'm simply glad a place like this exists.

Only downside is it's not immediately recognisable as a hotel from the outside, but the concierge immediately came down to greet me and assure me that, yes, google maps was in fact right.

the property was enormous and grand, with beautiful furniture and an incredible ballroom where we were treated to a wonderful breakfast.

it was very difficult to find! Clearer instructions to the property would have been helpful.

The volume of the rooms and the design of the place were out of this world for the price. In fact, it was probably one of the best "value for money" hotel stories of my life.

I liked how the hotel entrance was a quircky non-descript entrance to a building. I did not quite like the fact that the bell to the hotel did not work.

Magnificent building- you feel uplifted to enter! but also we’ll-equipped and comfortable.

Arriving by car is difficult with the city’s ZTL. Even following instructions we arrived in the wrong place! A map would help
