Hotel Excelsior Pavia

Hotel Excelsior is quite well located, right in front of Pavia Train Station and close to several restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. Very friendly staff!

Breakfast is good, but as far as I observed, fruits are not part of the breakfast. The wifi connection is good, however the hotel uses a system of "wifi code" for each device, this code allows one to be connected for 24 hours and then it is necessary to require a new code in the reception. I had to require a new code precisely when I was during a zoom meeting and my connection was over. Nothing really serious, but having a wifi connection without any interruption is desirable.

The staff was most accommodating. We had to extend our stay and the staff was very understanding and made it as easy as possible with short notice. The location near the train worked perfectly for us. Also the hotel is very close to pedestrian walking/shopping/restaurant area.

We had a front room which was understandably a bit noisy because of the train station. The second room located in the back was very quiet.

Location to rail was excellent and the short walk to City centre pleasant and easy. The rooms were of good size albeit the shower was a little tight. Due to COVID there were no bar or restaurant facilities but that was fine as we were out with friends most of the time.

There were no tea or coffee facilities which would have been nice to drink in the room. When returning from Milan that would have been refreshing. Ability to buy a bottle of beer or more probably water for the room would have been convenient and easy for the hotel to store.

Came to hotel earlier than my expected stay with my husband in order to try to see a doctor. Was unable to do much for myself due to an injury but the staff was gracious and very helpful. I couldn’t have picked a better place to try and recover.

The hotel was very comfortable but could use some upgrades.

As for breakfast, the croissant was very delicious. And, room was clean and confortable for me. Location was very good for sightseeing. If I stay Pavia, I choose this hotel.

Excellent location to train station and bus stops

Reception and stair carpets need replacing, rooms excellent they have been refurbished. No tea, coffee facilities in rooms. Perhaps more fruit al breakfast less sweet stuff.

The hotel charged for breakfast 8 €, which is more than what was agreed in the Booking reservation (5 €). We asked for explanations and they said 8€ is the normal cost and didn't know the reason for the difference. The amounts were small, but it was still annoying

The staff was super friendly and polite and the room is spacious and clean. The toilet had soap, shampoo, hairdryer and towels. There were two balconies in our room and the window had shutters so it was completely dark at night.

We couldn't keep the key into the electricity spot during the night because it kept making a buzzing noise.

location was very good . We arrived by train and the hotel is literally 1 minute walk from the station. Also within pleasant walking distance of the central area of the town . Friendly staff

The shower is very small and there is no soap tray or shelf of any kind
