A genuinely exceptional place to stay in Pavia. Location is a short walk from the station, perhaps 15 minutes to the pleasant town centre. Villa Marisa is an aesthetic delight - books everywhere! This was especially appreciated by our son, who had an essay to write for uni... As a family of 3 we had a room with two large double beds separated by a curtain, so in effect two rooms. The beds were really comfortable, there were chairs to sit, fantastic internet and the bathroom + shower were first class. Breakfast was very good continental - apple croissants (!), cakes, yogurt, fruit, juice and excellent coffee made by the wonderful Samantha. She and host Lara could not be more attentive and without doubt this was the best B&B we stayed in on our journey around Italy.

Everything was perfect.

Nice suite of 2 rooms, a bedroom and a lounge, with a fridge and a/c - very nice in the heat we had. Also a terrace, which it was too hot to use but might be nice at other times

Property has a lovely looking swimming pool, but it’s private, not for use of guests. A little flexibility from the (absent) owner, given the very high temperature, would have been greatly appreciated

Fantastic room size, with a huge bathroom and an additional living room and even a balcony. Air conditioning in the room made sleeping in the crazy heatwave possible. We'd stay here again.

The described walking distance to the old town seems rather long on a hot July day, when one sweats profoundly on the way from the car (parked right outside) to the entrance.

They are very friendly and helpful owners. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night. However, we choose the location because of the proximity to the train station. A good shopping center and excellent Pizzeria are very close (less than 4 min walking distance). Also, a playground for kids is not far at all.

The mosquitos. However, they are omnipresent in Lombardy. The owner brought also a good spray for the kids :-)

Excellent accommodation in isolated villa, very welcoming and interesting host and personnel, fantastic scholarly library available to guests, superb breakfast, perfect location near the train station, within walking distance from city center. Just the perfect place to visit Pavia and the surrounding countryside. We plan to come back.

Foremost, Villa Marisa is a very pleasant and friendly place to spend some days in Pavia! And It is somehow unique, because it takes you at hand (if you want) and tells a bit about the life of Marisa and Donato in the 30ties of the last century.

Great location close to the centre and lovely hotel. Room was very good and comfortable and the facilities excellent. Staff were friendly and informative. Arrived by car and on street parking was very safe.

Air conditioning unit was noisy but it wasn't needed much as the room was cool.

lovely big room and bathroom excellent shower nice outdoor courtyard fridge good at this time of year 15min walk to centre, shortcut through railway station didn’t book for breakfast but other guests had. it smelt of freshly baked bread etc 😊

only thing, the pillows seemed quite firm but not a major problem

The house has real character and the hosts are very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is traditional European with all the usual choices. The room we were in was spacious and has a fridge. The bathroom was very well equipped, and everything was spotless.

The owner was incredibly helpful. Even when her hotel was booked, she made calls to help me find a room. The following day, when a room became available, she and her husband were both extremely accommodating and warm. The hotel is beautiful.
