- The apartment was lovely, and the view was absolutely stunning. - Check-in was easy; we arrived later than anticipated (around 9 pm) due to a road accident. The receptionist waited for us and helped us with parking directions, as well as restaurant recommendations. - The apartment is close to the city center, not even 5 minute walk to the main street. The room was also very quiet.

There was a bit of confusion, given the description of the room title. It was written as a "One-Bedroom Apartment with Terrace and Sea View," but the place was not a one-bedroom; it was a studio. A large studio but a studio nonetheless, meaning there was no separate room. For two people, it is fine, but we were three adults, with one sleeping on the bed sofa in the same room. This need to be rectified to avoid further people being confused.

We stayed in a very cute and spacious apartment. The location was great. Striking distance to Porta Catania, which was the start of the Main Street Corso Umberto, with breathtaking views of the hills, sea and Etna, about midway through it. The windows had electric shutter blinds for blocking out light if you’d want to have a sleep in. A 40 minute walk up to Castelmoro, with incredible views and a little heart rate on the journey was also a plus, to then enjoy some coffee and cake or a drink and delicious food at the top.

The bathroom felt a little tight, especially the shower and we heard a little noise from the room next door. It wasn’t much though, so it wasn’t a deal breaker. No street noise though

The apartment was very comfortable. The bed was great, the kitchen was small, but had everything you might need. The host was amazing and very accomodating when our flight was diverted and we were 5 hours late for check in. They had daily cleaning service. The views from the balcony were beautiful. It was a ln excellent experience all around. Be prepared to walk a lot, or have a mode of transportation. The place is towards the top of Taormina and a pretty steep uphill trek back from the main square, or really anywhere you will go. We didn't mind that, but if you have issues with walking hills, just keep that in mind.

The entrance to the bathroom from the bedroom is a bit low. I am 6'1" and had to duck a bit so I didn't hit my head. Not a big deal at all.

Stayed at the penthouse with sea view and (partial) Etna view. Very spacious apartment with a kitchen that was well (enough) equipped (all you need for breakfast). Large terrace is super nice with excellent views and sun chairs. Location is also great, slightly elevated at the end of the main pedestrian street, but everything in walkable distance. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable (2 pillows of different softness) and the view from the bedroom is amazing. Parking is available within a 5 minute walk (super cheap out of season, 18 euros/day in high season) but you can park in front of the apartment to unload. Really highly recommended.

The only minor things are that the hairdryer is not great (for women with long hair) and that the shower is on the smaller side, complaining on a high level.

Really excellent apartment to stay in. Decorated to a high modern standard, furnishings, bed, shower all clean and cared for. Fruit and Prosecco in room and upgraded to a bigger room on arrival, this was a lovely surprise. Location is great, you can walk to everything in Taormina from here. We mainly ate out and just made breakfast and snacks in the apartment. It was perfect for this, cooking facilities were limit but I no plans to do any cooking on holiday! As this is an old building we occasionally we heard some noise from the apartment above but we soon got used to it. For this reason I think the apartments are better suited to couples rather than families with young children. We were out of the main tourist season and found the apartment very peaceful and quiet. Although there is a road outside it never bothered us, couldn’t hear any traffic. Concierge was very polite and helpful. Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels provided, toilet rolls and coffee pods topped up, beds made etc… this was excellent. We felt very well looked after and would highly recommend La Malandrina.

I can’t find anything not to like.

Gorgeous views, loved the outside space. It was beautifully decorated and accessorised. The kitchen was well equipped it was everything we could have wished for and more. The staff were so helpful and Sara who checked us in was very friendly. I can’t recommend this apartment enough.

It was situated high up and the walk down to the town was steep. I couldn’t manage the walk back so it cost us quite a bit in taxi’s. A very small problem and one we had anticipated but not quite realised how steep it was.

We stayed in the panoramic suite and the room and terrace were amazing. The property has everything you could need and it was very comfortable and very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and very approachable. They provided us with a list of good restaurants and all of the ones we tried were amazing.

Location was great at the quieter end of the Main Street. The only thing I’d say is that it is not suitable for anyone with any mobility problems as there are lots of steps and we had to walk a fair way to get a taxi to the property as there weren’t any at the bus station when we arrived. we didn’t have any issues though and we loved that it was in a quieter part of the town but still a short stroll to all of the wonderful bars, restaurants and shops

The apartment was very spacious, clean and well equipped. It is centrally located to the main street with all the attractions, bars and restaurants. There is a public car park nearby but the one way traffic system makes you go around the houses to reach it. We parked our car there for 2 nights and walked everywhere in town.

The apartment walls seem paper thin and not sound proof. We had a particularly noisy neighbour during our 2 night stay who did not respect other people's peace - especially after midnight. This was the most costly accommodation throughout our 12 night stay in Sicily and partly this is because of the shortage of supply of good accommodation in Taormina

Very comfortable bed, two beautiful bathrooms, excellent shower, daily cleaning and fresh towels if needed. Attentive and helpful staff who even brought us a corkscrew and a pair of pliers when we did a terrible job of opening a bottle of wine. Quiet at night, with shutters to keep the bedroom really dark and cool so we slept really well. Two lovely terraces for breakfast with views of the sea and Mount Etna.

The only thing I can think of is that the kitchen could be slightly better equipped and some of the utensils didn’t match the luxury feel of the rest of the apartment. However this is a tiny thing and there are so many incredible restaurants in Taormina, we didn’t use it much in the end.

We had room 4; one of the suites with a stunning balcony. We had a view of the town below and the hillside above. The room was flooded with light with windows on three sides that afforded us a gorgeous view down the coastline and of Mt Aetna. The room’s amenities were first class and the bed and linens plush. If you wanted breakfast a great choice would be to simply walk to the Hotel Continental next door. There is a short walk downhill to the Catania Gate and to all the stores and eating venues there. This was by far the classiest place we have stayed in all of Italy.

Take care when exiting the hotel as there is no sidewalk.
