Hotel Metropole Taormina

The location was ideal. Walk out of the hotel and straight into the main street of Taormina. We loved their staff very friendly as well as the pool which was very scenic. Breakfast was impeccable. Also we tried the food and we really was pleasantly surprised - excellent food. Bed was comfortable A Wonderful Terrace too.....

The rooms did not have as much amenities as a Boutique Hotel should. Should have provided water in the room daily. The safety deposit box should not be loose (should be bolted to the wall). The Fridge in the clothing cupboard generated a lot of heat and was below the Safety (could cause damage to clothes or sensitive material)

Probably the best-located Hotel in the centre of Taormina. The staff are remarkable in their care and enjoyment of their profession. We were treated as individuals and honoured guests and the attention to our requests was without fault. A remarkable ethos was present throughout our stay. If you wish to be taken care of rather than just stay in a Hotel this is as good as it gets. We are impressed!

The location of the hotel was superb for all that Taormina has to offer but unfortunately if you wanted to get down to the beach or the rail-station, the cable car was not working and apparently it will be unavailable all summer for essential maintenance work…. It should be noted that the shuttle bus service that was supposed to replace the cable car was almost non-existent! However, we couldn’t fault the hotel and the breakfasts were superb.

It was frustrating waiting around all the time for local transport - but when the bus did ‘turn-up’ it was very reasonable. Train travel was excellent - but again, getting to the rail station was a struggle; taxis were available but were at least 20 euros for a single trip as opposed to €1.20 on the bus.

The location is perfect in the heart of a perfect vacation little town. The views are fantastic. The staff are very efficient and accommodating, as you would expect. Breakfast on the outside balcony is a bit limited in choice but still very well presented, and the woman managing the small cafe is just great. Rooms are clean, and windows sound proofed. In total, this small hotel is a jem!

The beverages and restaurant are outrageously expensive, especially when you have ample food choices on your doorstep. Otherwise, we liked it all.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot in Taormina and I would heartily recommend. The rooms are spacious (very unlike Italy), clean with modern fittings and furnishings, very comfy beds and very helpful staff. A lovely old building which has been tastefully modernised. The pool area has wonderful views and comfy sun loungers.

The first room we were allocated was too noisy! The room is on floor 1 facing the street which at night is lively. The superior rooms are all facing the street and unless you are on a higher floor it is difficult to sleep. The hotel team were great in accommodating our request to move, we were staying with them for 5 nights. Although the hotel was busy they found a way to resolve the issue happily and very professionally, they also assisted the move so as to not to interfere with our holiday.

Great location right in the centre of Taormina town but away from the busy streets. Amazing view from the pool and our room (junior suite) overlooking the sea. Lovely staff, particularly Santini.

Not major points, but drinks were expensive (22EUR for cocktail), some breakfast items were paid (such as eggs Benedict) - would not expect this at a top hotel, and some mornings there was a slight smell from bathroom.

Exceptional service! This was our third time back and they feel like family here. They take care of every request you may have from recommendations, making reservations, booking taxis… they go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. This is the best location bc it is in the center of everything. Amazing pool area. Marcelo at the front is a dream. Maria at breakfast, Giuseppe at the pool Bar and David & Mary at the lounge are phenomenal

The breakfast was lovely. Wide selection available. And hot food cooked freshly to order. Lovely breakfast staff. Stunning location eating breakfast over looking the sea. Or you could order to your room also. The location was lovely. Straight outside onto a stunning street full of lovely restaurants and shops. Bar area is beautiful. Classy decor and beautiful views. Light music. Interior of the hotel is beautiful also and the spa was lovely. You book a time slot for an hour so you get sole use of it. The whole stay was lovely. Interior very classy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Santino was great in ensure our stay went as well as could be and answering any questions we had prior to our stay. Overall a fabulous hotel.

Asides from not being able to drive directly to the hotel, nothing could have been better. And the location cannot be helped as it is in the mountain. Couldn’t fault the hotel. And preferred that part of Taormina also. Visited Isola Bella area easily but the area around the hotel was our favourite.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, we know Taormina very well and this is one The key reasons we choose the Metropole . The views from both the restaurant and pool area are breathtaking. The biggest plus for us was the pool area. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are very attentive.

Our room was relatively small (one of the lower cost rooms without a seaview) which in itself wasn’t a problem however there was very limited storage, no drawers etc., no room to store our case. We were only there for 4 nights but would have been a big problem for us if we had stayed longer. Being street side it was quite noisy at times.

I loved everything about Hotel Metropole. The excellent customer service, location perfectly located in the center. The ambiance of the hotel. The bed so comfortable. The infinity pool and spa was the best. A special thank you to Ambra at the front desk, Maria at breakfast,Lucia housekeeping, Guisseppe. They really gave a wonderful Sicilian welcome and made our stay so great. Will definitely be back.
