The most memorable stay of our 5 weeks in Italy and Sicily. The views of the sea and Mt. Etna from the terrace and breakfast room are incredible and 2nd to none. The breakfasts are tasty and can include Italian pastries, croissants, yogurt, red orange juice, eggs, toast and delicious coffee. You will not meet a more accommodating and friendly host, than dear Domenico. The room was large, very clean, comfortable and even had wine glasses and a corkscrew to enjoy some vino on the beautiful terrace. Though it takes about 210 steps down to reach the main part of Taormina, my 73 year old mother did it and we’d do it again in a heartbeat to stay at Villa Sara. An added bonus is the on-site private garage if you’re traveling by car.

We have traveled widely both in the U.S. and in Europe, and have never met a host like Domenico. He was the best host that we can ever remember, treating us like we were family. He could not do enough for us and made us feel at home. We loved our stay there! The room was absolutely lovely overlooking a beautiful vista. The breakfast was delicious and reflected Domenico’s generous spirit! He also shared much about local culture and recommendations for travel in the area. We were able to walk down to shops in Taormina and it was an easy taxi ride back. The bus also stops right near the B and B.

We loved every minute of our stay at Villa Sara. The owner Domenico could not have been more hospitable and helpful. He’s also a lot of fun and his English is perfect. He had wonderful recommendations for restaurants and activities and provided us with a sumptuous breakfast every morning. The room and terrace were 10 out of 10. I can’t imagine a better view anywhere. What really made our trip was a bus stop literally outside the villa that made travelling around a breeze. It’s an incredibly hilly place so walking around is difficult. I would love to come back one day. I miss the place already.

The views from our room were spectacular and our room was very spacious with a large bathroom and very large shower. Our host Domenico was one of the best hosts we have ever had. He listened to what we were wanting to do and almost straight away sent us links to different places of interest and good restaurants. Also sent us a contact number for taxis. He had a delicious breakfast ready for us each morning and was always attentive and so happy. His prices are very reasonable. There was a bus service that could take us into Taormina, but as my husband has had back problems, we opted for taxis. We would definitely return to this property, hopefully next year Domenico. Staying in the beautiful Villa Sara was an exceptional experience, the best of all our overnights in Sicily. Our host Domenico went out of his way to help us both before our trip and while we were there, with suggestions for walking trips and the best way to get to the town centre. The room and bathroom were both large and spotlessly clean, and the best part was the huge terrace/balcony overlooking Mount Etna and the sea. Domenico helped us to arrange a delivery pizza in the evenings so that we could eat there, enjoying a bottle of wine and the view. The breakfasts every day were delicious with plenty of variety, and we especially enjoyed the scrambled eggs. A bonus was having his private garage for our car so that we did not have to leave it on the street.

Everything was great at Villa Sara! Dominic is amazing. So very helpful, knowledgeable and funny. He was a joy to be around. No question or problem was a bother. Our room had a terrace with a view of Mt Etna and Taormina below and the sea beyond. It was spacious, the bathroom was spacious, everything was new and spotless. Breakfast was amazing, really great coffee, tons of savories, tons of pastries. Lots of healthy choices. We enjoyed a walk up to the Madonna, and two walks down to Taormina, tons of stairs! Nice churches and architecture and a quiet garden with a view of the sea in Taormina. We used the public bus to get back to Villa Sara, the stop in in front. We did a take out dinner and ate on our terrace--Dominic helped with food warming and utensils. We would definitely return to Villa Sara.

Location was amazing. Breakfast looking out over Mt Etna and the ocean. Domenico the host was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond sending us bus timetables, restaurant and beach recommendations, and being flexible with breakfast timing to suit our needs. Breakfast each morning was great. It came with conversation and energy and made an enjoyable start to each day!

Our stay at Villa Sara was extraordinary. Domenico was an amazing host, he supported us with rearrangement after our flight was cancelled, always gave us advise for sightseeing and food and was always good for a joke. The View from the balcony is stunning. Traditional Sicilian breakfast so tasteful. Room well equipped.

You have to like either driving, taxi or taking some stairs to get around. No problem for us, you can even save the time for your workout.

Huge private balcony with a great view of Etna! We took a hundred photos. The room was really quiet, comfortable and clean. The host was super friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. He also served us a generous and delicious breakfast every morning. Free public parking right outside.

The great view comes with a cost: there are many steps from Taormina city center up to the hotel. This wasn't a problem for us but could be for some. We were 4 people and took a taxi up to the hotel a few times (10-15 eur). The pillows were high and hard.

Spectacular views, great location, and the best host you could ever ask for. Domenico will make your stay unforgettable with great tips and lots of fun. Beautiful and spacious room, with a huge balcony in a remarkable villa. If you are a moderate trekker like me, you will love the location as it only takes a short 10 minute hike from the centre and there are lots of trekking opportunities from there. Thank you for the best time in Taormina!
