The building has been beautifully restored and the apartments are amazing. The terraces aren’t shared as other reviews say so make sure you book the one you want. I had the suite with the terrace over the old town and it was beautiful and a nice quiet escape. Bed was comfy, apartment big and lots of nice treats like water and snacks every day. Owner really helpful with tips and guides and I was able to check in early

It’s true the area is a mix of buildings from amazing restaurants and apartments to less loved buildings. But it’s safe and never a problem. More tourists will bring more money and more regeneration

Very nice and well equipped loft style apartment with great shower, kitchenette with dining area and very comfy bed. Great AirCo with heating and very good wifi. Outstanding quality from furniture to towels to dishes. In the very heart of Taranto's old town centre with views on the port. Charming restaurants, shops and public transport all at doorstep. 15 minutes easy walk from Tarantos central railway station. There is also a lift going to street level you can use once you got your keys. The cleaning lady was very friendly, respectful and helpful, always with a smile. Definetly recommended.

This place is so good, that I wanted to stay longer in Taranto just so that I could spend more time cozy at home. Everything about it exceeded my expectations. The bed and linens are a soft cloud. The location--8 min walk from train station, and it is in the old city! Trust me, you want to stay on the island. The size, cleanliness, and finishings are all well above what is necessary. Even a little box with a snack of some local things. The Bathroom is amazing, the shower is aquatherapeutic. I was in need of shampoo, conditioner, etc, after travelling for a few days, and this place had them, just like a hotel. Most guest homes do not include these little bottles, so it was greatly appreciated. And the staff communicated everything perfectly, which made checking in and out simple and efficient

Nothing to report. Perhaps I could only complain that they are charging too low for this place!

Less than 10 minutes from the station, on the edge of the Centro Storico, overlooking the harbour with fishing boats, only a few minutes from the Castello and the new town with its pedestrian shopping streets. As others have mentioned, a really comfortable bed in a loft area! FYI Steep wooden steps/ladder up to the loft.... Excellent bathroom with everything provided. Same for kitchen area. Everything was super clean and well presented. Great value too. Good bar/café just a short way away..open at 05:30 if needed!

This is FYI only, not a negative. Entry to the apartment is after a phone call to the owner who will open the front door automatically and tell you which floor and apartment to go to. I didn't see anyone. No problem for me as I speak some Italian but could be confusing for anyone new to Italy. I expect the owner also speaks English. This is a great space.

Don Alfredo is an amazing place to stay and I just can highly recommend it!! Apartment was super big, super clean and equipped with lots of love to detail. It‘s totally renovated and you find everything what you need and even more! There was food and drinks in the fridge and also coffee capsules etc in place. Communication with the staff and also check-in was super easy and uncomplicated. Staff was always available via WhatsApp. The appartment is located perfectly in the old city and also the newer part of Taranto can be easily reached by foot. There are also a few good places to find a parking slot. Thumbs up - fantastic place!

all was great

A really gorgeous, well designed and equipped space for living, working, cooking and sleeping. Thoughtful attention to detail. Lovely view over the working fishing harbour and boats. Host was always available on WhatsApp. I had two rainy days out of six over Easter and it was a truly wonderful space to snuggle down with books and projects without feeling restricted. A great example of what elegance and comfort can be achieved without needing vast space.

The fact that I could not be there forever.

The apartment was simply beautiful! I had my own large balcony overlooking the harbor, a kitchen, sofa, dining table which I used to work, comfortable bed and a beautiful shower. There's also complementary water, juice, snacks, coffee and tea. A beautiful gift was included as well. Housekeeping was checking with me on the second day to make sure I had all supplies. Wifi was fast and stable.

Not a lot of shelve space, especially in the bathroom. There wasn't a tea kettle and I had to use a pot to boil water.

the apartment was large and bed was comfortable. It was very close to the Lungomare where you could see the fishing boats and fishermen cleaning their catch in the morning. It was also a short walk from the bus station.

The stairs to the first floor were very steep. It was very hard carrying suitcases up the narrow staircase and felt dangerous walking down. Only as we were leaving one of the staff saw us and showed us how to open the gate to use the lift to the ground floor. Check in was by phone and there was no information in the room about wifi, check out, or using the lift etc. Breakfast was very poor, only pre wrapped toasts and some spreads.

The road that leads to it was very dark at 2 am, I did not feel safe walking from our event. The neighborhood does not feel safe but it may just be my ignorance, it is not like I have seen a crime or anything in action while there. Just run down part of the island is all.

our apartment was spacious and with a modern fit out.The location is alongside the waterfront in the old section of Taranto.The locality is quite different to the new Taranto across the bridge. There are many restaurants to chose but some of the best is to explore the narrow lanes away from the tourist waterfront.For those first arriving there is a small lift accessed to the side of the building via little gated lane,use this is if you have luggage as the stairs are very steep.We enjoyed the spacious apartment,excellent bathroom and a kitchen.

All good Our WIFI only worked in the kitchen area
