Love! Was really perfect for us. Highly recommend. Only 1 night stay but we wish we could have stays longer. Bus stop just outside the location. Very specious room - took one with private hot bath. Nothing fancy but all we needed. Free drinks at reception. Considerate lovely meals.

The area of the outdoor bath could have been cleaned a bit more and fresh paint on the walls would do wonders. At night there were wild pigs running outside on the road but I guesse that’s understandable and a part of the nature you’re in. My daughter is 12 and was disappointed to get kids meals instead of adult. They could have asked for our perforation but chafed when we asked.

The room was a great size and allowed us plenty of space to sit and relax. Having a sofa as well as a tatami area was a huge bonus. The private onsen was super hot but comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent. The Hakone Free Pass is worthwhile as you will likely use the buses a bit.

It's located about 25 minutes by bus up into the mountains from Hakone Yumoto station - from the station take the bus from "3" and you will need to get off at stop 244. It's an easy walk from there. Once you work out the bus routes and stops it's a great spot to stay.

The food was superb! Soooo filling. Unique and they had an English guide so we knew how to eat properly. Private bath was spacious, beautiful (stone, it felt like we were right in nature!). They have amenities (like free yukata), free drinks (plenty to choose from), and board games (come with english instructions as well). Felt very luxurious and pampered. Definitely check out the glass musuem next door! It was a highlight of our trip!

No tea ceremony like in the fancier, more traditional ones. Though they do set up tea and a treat in your room. They don’t bring the meals to you like the traditional ones, but restaurant is nearby and was lovely to leave the room. We preferred it that way. The fancier ones do have prettier interior design but if on a budget, this one is a super choice.

The meals were the best that had during our trip. They accommodated our special request for non meat/chicken/pork which we really appreciate. The private onsen was just nice, the hot onsen with the cool late autumn breeze since it's open air, but shaded for privacy. The room was spacious, beds were really comfy. They even turned up the heater before our checkin so it was nice and warm when we enter the room.

We were on public transport and the location was just opposite the bus stop of Hakone Highland Hotel, but it may be more convenient to drive

Staff were very hospitable and responsive to messages and requests. Provided "extra" ammenities like Kimono to wear during the stay and open bar drinks fridge. Room was comfortable and spacious (for Japanese standards). Included breakfast was excellent - traditional Japanese style and a great experience. We also added on the dinner which was equally a great experience.

The in-room onsen is quite small, only really large enough for one person at a time. The photos on the site of the larger pools are the public bath which is nice and very warm, but we had chosen this place for the privacy of a private bath. For the price, would have expected more luxurious ammentities in the room/public bath area like face cleanser, body wash etc.

Food: ○ Our booking included morning breakfast which really gave us a homely vibe to it. It was delicious. ○ Complimentary beer cans for overnight stayers! Location: ○ Was really convenient for a bus stop to be right outside this accommodation. ○ Just happens to be right next to Hakone Venetian Glass Museum. Room: ○ Very spacious and traditional room with tatami mats. ○ The onsen bath in our room was used frequently. It was spacious with a window right outside it that seeped the exhaustion out of me. Definitely the highlight of the room.

Location: ○ 10 minutes walk from the closest 7/11. ○ Bit distant from other restaurants. Cleanliness: ○ While the room itself was very clean and tidy, the onsen bath had spiders that have already set up their webs at the corners of the bathroom space. Was a bit rough having these creepy crawlies around you but I still enjoyed the onsen bath.

We got the room with private onsen and it was amazing! The room is soo spacious and comfy, it's like a Japanese flat on your own very traditional, we love it to chill at the end of our trip. Dinner was one of the best meal of our trip, very complete, many courses and even explanation of each. Breakfast was great too! And the staff is super friendly. A bit pricey but when considering all the things included I think is a fair price.

If you go by public transport connection is a bit lame. In general in Hakone you depend a lot on buses that don't pass often.

The room has a traditional set-up with the tatami area which made it feel spacious. We loved the onsen bath in our room patio and used it a lot. Freebies at the lobby such as drinks etc was a nice bonus. Location felt a little bit remote, definitely quiet but a bus stop is right out the front. No problems finding the place.

The futon mattress was on the firm/hard side but this seems to be common elsewhere in Japan. Some language barriers with English but only with certain members of staff so it's not a big complaint, they had great service.

Free drinks. Wife took a lot of apple juices. Good atmosphere. Food was great.

The hot spring is only adjustable by staff. The place is quite remote, only a few bus comes in an hour. The room I got is the most corner and has bad WiFi connection even though I have reserved months ago and sent note that the room is for my honeymoon trips. I expected a room closer to the main area.

The room was spacious, much bigger than we expected. We had one overnight stay with a dinner and breakfast. Both meals were great. The dinner was composed from several apetizers, starter from sea food, a whole sea bream and shabu shabu. Breakfast was asian type and also very delicious. The private bath is on the balcony. We had quite cold weather so it was great to soak up in the hot water.

I think you need a car to come to the hotel (We had a rental car and there were many parking places for free available).
