I loved the location. It was beautiful, remote, and peaceful. It is also right next to the Komagatake ropeway, which offers amazing views of Mt. Fuji. The onsen was also nice and clean. The staff all over the hotel were exceptionally courteous and accommodating; they helped ensure I had a pleasant stay. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and appreciated all the amenities provided in the room from toilerries and mineral water bottles to robes and slippers for the onsen.

There were few places to eat nearby, as the hotel is a bit far from the main town areas. The hotel is a little old, in terms of furnishing and some faulty parts in the bathroom. My room was also a little far from the main part of the hotel, the onsen, and breakfast areas, but I didn't mind the walk.

It's a very nice hotel with a big green territory, located on the lake shore. We took a room with the lake and Fuji Mount view, it's the best room you can have! Wifi works perfectly. Breakfast is really good. Staff is super friendly. Hotel gives you a free shuttle from Odawara station. It's very convenient (taxi would cost around 50$). The hotel is located right next to the ropeway. It gets you on the top of a hill where you can see the whole Ashi lake and Fuji.

There are hot springs in the hotel, but we could not enter there because we have tattoos. Nevertheless, we had to pay a local tax for hot springs. There are 2 restaurants for dinner. One is Japanese and another is "Japanese" French restaurant. The last one is very expensive. I didn't like both. There are not too many options to eat.

The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and curteous (and many come out to greet you and wave you farewell which was cute) . Worth noting, being a little off the usual international traveller's path, fluency in English was rare, but nothing a few basic phrases in Japanese and/or hand gestures couldn't get around 🙂 The room was great - overlooking the beautiful lake, spacious, and with a well appointed bathroom. The food in the Japanese restaurant was lovely, and the free shuttle service was very handy.

The price of the Japanese restaurant was at least quadruple what we've paid anywhere else on our travels. The remote location is great, but does limit choices for food.

It's an older place so the rooms are very large for Japan - this made it quite comfortable. Onsen was large and great views. Walking out in the morning and seeing a clean Fuji-san across the lake was amazing and worth the negative aspects. I would definitely stay here again but do a few things differently now that I know.

Didn't realise it was so far away from everything and taxis are hard to get. This meant at night you really had to eat at the hotel. We did the buffet both nights which was nice but it was exactly the same both nights - little bit of change would have been nice. Getting into town they have a shuttle bus but it doesn't start until 11am. It really needs to start earlier as the family took it and it was so crowded. I left earlier and did the 5km walk into town to enjoy the scenery.

First - rooms were very comfortable and sizeable. Property has a very tranquil feel to it as it is next to the lake and with a view of Mt Fuji from the lakeside. The dinner at the Japanese restaurant - Nandaman was phenomenal. They also do sell their sauces at the restaurant. Had room service and these were outstanding as well! Buffet Breakfast at the Lakeside Grill restaurant was also fantastic with a good selection of food, fruits. Location is next to the aquarium and petting zoo (with horse riding) and the ninja bus as well as Ropeway. There is a shuttle to and from Odawara Station. Also with shuttle internally to take the pirate ship at Motohakone (this starts late - alternatively can take local buses). Also can take buses to Togendai (and please do take the ropeway) and make your way to the northern part of Hakone and onwards to Gotemba which then allows you to connect to Mt Fuji or the Gotem Onsen was literally just hot water - not spring water with an alkaline feel.

the hotel shuttle buses to Togendai or Motohakone could start earlier at 9am instead of 11am.

It’s worth the extra money to get a lakeside room. We had views across the lake to Mt Fuji and a verandah to sit outside and watch the boats and people fishing on the lake. It was beautiful. The hotel is huge. There is a scenic walking track down to a small torii gate and beautiful Shinto shrine just behind the hotel. We walked this track and continued on to the tourist boat terminal and ropeway where we caught the old-fashioned galleon boat back to the other end of the lake. If you’re keen walkers, get off at the second stop where you can see the famous torii gate and shrine, then walk the old Edo roadway (cobbled) back to the hotel. Be aware that when the old road runs out you have to walk on the new road complete with cars and buses. The Prince Hakone also offers a complimentary bus shuttle to this site. Good restaurants and eateries in these places. The hotel offers three dining options which are quite expensive. We chose the French restaurant one evening - it doesn’t offer much that is French! Beautiful restaurant with lake views though, land impeccable service. But be prepared to pay! We had friends who tried the Japanese restaurant and said it was also very expensive but good. We all dined in the Lake restaurant which is an all you can eat buffet and nowhere near the lake. It was very good and cheaper than the others. Overall, beautiful place, great service and lovely rooms.

The bar fridge in the room was not cold and there was no way to adjust the temperature. We had to get ice from reception to put in our drinks in the room. The hotel shop sells items you might need but it’s cheaper and there’s more selection at the Lawson and 7-11 shops in the nearby villages.

Beautiful hotel in front of the lake, secluded and quiet. Had a nice onsen. Both Japanese and Western in-house restaurants were fantastic (though a bit pricey). Had a shuttle bus to the train station, which is very convenient. Also had an hourly shuttle bus to Moto-Hakone which is very useful because the public transport options to the hotel are quite limited. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are quite pricey. Not many transport options to the hotel if you don't drive. I think there's only 1 bus service and it's pretty infrequent.

Location was great but a shuttle bus ride from town. We didn’t mind, in fact preferred the quiet setting. You can see Mt Fuji from the hotel. Views of Lake Ashinoko are also beautiful. Staff is terrific. The Onsen was awesome! The on- site French restaurant was amazing, albeit expensive. NYC quality food, ambiance and service. Short walk to Rope car for great views of Fuji

Rooms were a bit ‘tired’ but clean. Could use an upgrade. Shuttle to town & back was every hour & 1/2 hr respectively- except 3 & 3:30, but no real problem if you plan around it. If it’s cloudy with limited visibility, you won’t see Fuji. Weather was perfect for us, thankfully.

Property was absolutely serene and beautiful, size of room was amazing, onsen (indoor/outdoor) was fantastic, dinner and breakfast buffets were great. What was especially nice was I have food allergies and everything was labeled.

The shower wasn't great. It would sporadically get hot or cold. Everything else was so great so that should definitely be fixed. Most of the staff was nice and helpful, but when we checked in, that person seem bothered when we had questions.
