The location just 5 minutes walk from the Kagoshima station and close by the ferry port to Sakurajima, supermarkets, restaurants and at 10 minute walk to the city centre. Also, if you get a room facing Sakurajima (ours was not facing it, but in the next morning we had the chance to check out the views from one of our neighbours) the views are quite impressive.
The price of the rooms are a total rip off (22K JPY for a single bed in a double room for 2 people) for the quality of the facilities and the state of the place. The hotel is quite old, the furniture is at least 20 years old, when you look behind the TV the amount of dust was showing that the place hasn’t been cleaned in months, the carpet had stains of wine or similar. Also, as our room was the last available, we had to take a smoking room, which was all stinking to tobacco (I have stayed in other rooms with smoking allowed but odourless)… We changed to a guesthouse the next two nights and it had much better quality, and the price was a third of what we paid here
