Hotel Mystays Kagoshima Tenmonkan

Like most Japanese hotels, the room was quite small. But it was comfortable. The hotel was in a good location near shopping areas. We weren't able to check in until 3 PM but the hotel offered to hold our luggage without charge until check in time. I wouldn't recommend a room for two forgeiners as the rooms are much too small and if you have large luggage, it would be very hard to store and access the luggage in the very small room.

Convinient location, near to tram stop, and close to Tenmonkan area (JR station is easily accessible by tram). Minimart is just next to the lobby. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Toilet in the room is a little bit aged but well maintained.

Breakfast options were great. Location was not too bad.

Room was small for 3. Again, only heating function available in the winter and spring season as the fan function was also blowing warm stuffy air. Cigarette smoke wafts through to the lobby by a smoking zone outside the Family Mart attached. Parking height restriction was too low if you didn't drive a sedan car.

Great location right in the middle of the city area. Good burger restaurant downstairs. Room is very clean, and has all the typical amenities present in most Japanese business hotels.

Pillows were somewhat hard, but that is typical of most Japanese business hotels. While not the hotel's fault, the tram line from Kagoshima-Chuo to the hotel can be very busy, so I recommend using a taxi if you have large and/or many luggage items.

It was my third time here. When I’m in Japan I always love to visit Kagoshima and also this hotel. The personnel are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great and the rooms are nice. The hotel to me is special because it was my first hotel when visited Japan for the first time.

The location is in the city center. The room is spacious, for Japanese standards. It has everything you need. The room and the towels are clean.

The person at the reception was not so clear how to check in a group of people as he probably never did it before.

The standard twin room was relatively bigger than other hotels in Japan. The room itself was renovated and clean. There is a parking lot right in front of the hotel and very close to Tenmonkan, restaurants and bar area. Last but not least, the buffet breakfast was really good.

The bathroom was not renovated: the washbasin cracked, shower curtain had molded smell and the air circulation was bad.

Amazing breakfast. Really comfy bed. Generally nice looking room and facilities.

I was a bit surprised by how small the room and bed were for three people. And I’ve never been a fan of having a toilet, sink, and bathtub all smooshed together so that everything is wet all the time. But this is a common feature of hotels in Japan.

Great location. Easy to find from the tram line. Easy check in. Great room. AMAZING burger restaurant on site. Convenience store in site as well! Close to the food and shopping districts. Walking distance to the Castle.

Breakfast was good, and came with shabu shabu pork. Room was very clean. Came with optional hard pillows.

Toilet fittings looked old but still worked. Could hear piping sounds in the middle of the night. However overall, a very decent hotel.
