Mercure Hotel Yokosuka

Overall great hotel. Didn’t try the breakfast or other facilities but the location was perfect for what I needed. Staff was super friendly, spoke English and were helpful. They even lent out free umbrellas! Score as I woke up to solid wind and rain the first morning. Convenience stores close by as well.

Bed was a bit dated and worn. Had the soft spot in the middle that would cause people to taco up

Next to mall and train station. Also an arcade, which I love. Elevators need a key to access floors for good security. Room light had dimmer and toggles next to bed making it nice when your partner is asleep and you want to be up.

Rooms were a bit small for comfort. Single bed for 2 people with 4 suitcases (due to a long trip in multiple areas and lots of souvenirs). But it worked out fine. Bathroom door was elevated, that took getting used to.

Always clean and close to all types of commerce. And close right next to train station that takes you to Tokyo in no time and in to other major cities in Kanto area.

Breakfast. Too expensive for the quality of food of the buffet. A close by chain restaurant had breakfast options for similar quality and 1/4 of the price.

Good location in the heart of 'the honch'/Dobuita Street, but not too close to where you'd hear the bar ruckus at night. The hotel is also across the street from the mall, and the naval base. Small hotel, but still comfortable. Three nearby convenience stores, and some laundromats as well. The staff spoke English. Towels and basic toiletries provided in the bathroom. Tub. Robe and slippers in the closet. Nice cups and silverware set for tea/coffee, if that matters to you. Electric kettle provided. A few steps away from Shioiri station, and the JR Yokosuka station.

The pillows and the fridge sucked. No control of the A/C, but that's standard in Japan. The price was quite steep. No outlets/USB plugin near the bed for charging.

I had a really nice view from my room on the bay. The breakfast room is on the higher floors, so that's great and the breakfast was excellent. The location is convenient close both to the keikyu line (50m) and the JR Yo line (5min walk).

Well, I could not open my window and the heating was turned on before my arrival. No way to cool down quickly the room temperature. On the next morning it was better.

We didn't eat breakfast, the location was terrific, close to the Installation, train, friends, and the shopping which was directly across from the hotel. The staff was superb, meeting every request we made.

Everyone in the area was still dealing with the COVID scare, so it was difficult walking around without a mask on.

Great location. Easy to get to the Naval Base, shopping, eating, train station. Good breakfast selection. Beds are comfortable. I loved looking out over the bay from my room at at breakfast.

A bit small. Was perfect for solo travel, but I wouldn't take my family here. Not much in the way of storage or closet space.

checked in pretty late and there was only a lone trainee left at the reception to tend to the guests but he did really well trying to explain parking conditions and recommending breakfast options despite not being able to converse fluently in english. comfortable rooms at decent price in the area.

Location is the best. Love the view from the Bayview rooms. Rooms on the higher floor are larger and have large refrigerators and microwave ovens.

This Hotel should have a hard line for internet. The WIFI is iffy and needs to be reset time to time by unplugging the little module behind the TV.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. It’s just 2 minutes walk from Shiroi station and less than 9 minutes walk from Yokosuka station. There’s also a bus stop just outside the hotel . There is a big shopping centre (with a lot of stores including Aeon supermarket) opposite the hotel which is very convenient. Because it’s located around the Navy base it’s quite easy to see the Yokosuka bay. Verny park is also less than 3 minutes away from the hotel where you can enjoy a view of the Yokosuka bay while enjoying the smell of roses in the air. Lastly, the staff members were amazing, friendly and helpful. They also spoke English which is great for people who can’t speak Japanese.
