Close to the JR Kyoto Station, friendly staff, free welcome drink every night, free coffee, tea and cold water. Bigger (bath) rooms than other hotels in the same price range.

Drying machines need renovation, they simply don't work (clothing is hot but stays damp, even after 1,5h....). Breakfast needs to be booked way in advance. Can't be booked on the day itself or even on the day before. Always 'fully booked',no more room, even if it's a buffet and not all the tables are full. Very weird!

Great hotel, close to Kyoto station and subway. Great breakfast. Lovely bonus of free evening drink. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

A tip if you want to catch an early train, go down early for breakfast at least 15 mins before it opens as there was always a queue and a wait list for tables

A very nice 3-star hotel with a free laundry, a spacious bathroom (certainly for Japanese hotels!) and a well-designed downstairs area. I liked being able to go downstairs and enjoy the live music being streamed from the "sister hotel", and the free welcome drink every evening was a lovely perk. I also loved that the hotel had an onsen onsite, although the female onsen was quite small and consisted of a single hot pool (while the male onsen had a hot pool, cold pool and a sauna). I'd recommend booking the buffet breakfast when you book the room - it was very good, with plenty of choices, but it tended to get sold out when we tried to book the night before.

The internet was shockingly bad! We barely had any internet in our room and it kept dropping out, despite a router in the corridor. It was so bad that I actually complained to the reception staff, but the response I got "Oh, too many people are using it right now." This wasn't the case - the internet was fine if I went downstairs to the common area, or even stood in the corridor. Please fix the internet!!

Lovely warm room with split A/C and fab compact bathroom. As vegetarians we didn't expect too much from breakfast, but were very pleasantly surprised with the variety and amount of items on offer…..really enjoyed it! Evening free drink was a lovely touch and we liked the cozy vibe of the lounge with many guests wearing samue, post onsen. Free laundry facilities very much appreciated too.

The room was small with nowhere for clothes storage. Being from HK we're used to tiny spaces and hotel rooms, so not much an issue for us, but may be for others.

The room was clean & a decently sized. They provided inside slippers for use in both the room & also a pair for the hotel. The key card holder was a very cool touch - it was by the door and you had to slide the card in once you got in. 1) It prevented you from losing it and 2) It automatically turned on the room lights which was an awesome bonus especially if you come back at night. They give you bathroom entities like a a razor, Q-tips, full sized toothbrush, mini tooth paste, a tooth brush holder, a hair brush, etc. All for free use & individually wrapped which was great. Plus the bathroom was amazing! Deep tub for baths, detachable shower head, great water tempture/pressure control, spacious room, and a toilet bidet. The public bath was a bonus feature. They had showers, traditional seating wash areas, & a big hot tube like pool. It was very good for releasing body tension & aches. I was the only Western there, but I enjoyed the feature. It also had a mirror and sitting spot outside the bath with free amenities to take care of yourself after - blow dryer, cleanser, body lotions, Q-tips, etc. Lockers with a key band to hold your stuff securely while you bath. Only thing is too remember to bring the provided bag in the room to hold your stuff in the locker & bring your own towel from the room. Location was another GREAT feature. Like a 10 min walk down from the Kyoto Station, right behind one of the subway entrances, & about block or two from a 711 if you needed to pick up any food on the go.

This is the fifth time we have stayed at Sakura Terrace. The location is perfect for a couple of mature age Australian tourist. Now far from Kyoto Station, Kujo under at the front door which is one stop from Kyoto Staion plus en route to many tourist spots. Good shopping close by and a good range of restaurants etc. The staff always very professional and accommodating. The breakfast is great value with many quality choices. Plus a welcome drink every evening is very relaxing. The rooms are a good size, very comfortable beds, good amenities and very clean. Their sister accommodation is a 5 minute stroll and good for dinner.

Sakura Terrace is the perfect place to enjoy Kyoto! It's not rated at 5-stars but it definitely provides a 5-star service! The staff are incredibly welcoming and know how to treat their customers well. The rooms are gorgeous and a good size, with one of the more comfortable beds we've slept in at a hotel. We had a great view of the south side of Kyoto too. The breakfast is amazing, lots of options that taste great. Plus it's nice to hang out in the lounge for a change of scenery, or the free welcome drinks during the evenings.

There isn't a lot of storage space in the room to unpack your luggage so please bear this in mind.

The location was just beside Kujo Station though we walked over from Kyoto Station. The hotel was clean, the staff were very helpful and polite, and there was a laundry room with drink vending machine on the floor we stayed. They also provided free tea, coffee and water daily in their restaurant. In the evening, there was a free drink from their bar, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and had a good time.

The room was a little on the small side with a single seater sofa for a double room. The TV was also a little small. However, there was enough space to open our luggage and walk around the space.

Excellent breakfast, wide variety and tasty food. Small onsen was great after big days of sightseeing. Free tea & coffee during day and free drink at night. Adjacent to subway entrance which was very handy especially in rain. Comfy beds, great sleep.

Staff weren’t very helpful but this could be language barrier as we didn’t speak Japanese. We weren’t allowed to eat any food from outside in the downstairs communal area, the area to eat in room was very small & not comfortable.

This was our second stay at Sakura Terrace and it, once gain, exceeded our expectations. The staff was so kind and helpful. We ended up cancelling another reservation and stayed a total of 10 nights! The breakfast is wonderful - not a lot of typical western-style options, but a delicious variety of fresh salads, fruit, little sandwiches, juice, etc. A subway station is right outside the front door and the train station is a 5 - 10 minute walk. Ask for a room way from the streets. Try the public bath and sauna. Thanks Sakura Terrace for another wonderful stay! We will be back!
