Center location, very convenient and close to everything. Room was pretty big, clean and sleek style, got everything I needed. Stayed for 10 nights! Perfect for snowboarding trip to kiroro resort and yoichi distillery etc.

Soundproof of the rooms was a bit weak, could hear neighbors talking, but tolerable if you are not a light sleeper and as long as your neighbors are not too dramatic. Hotel staff should respond more on booking.com messages as sometimes customers can not make phonecalls or can not speak Japanese. I arrived late because of delayed flight, informed the hotel on booking.com and asked for late check-in procedures, the hotel didn't reply, but i got in through the unlocked lobby door and checked in successfully.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our trip around Japan. We didn't have many interactions with staff other than the housekeeping staff. They were lovely to deal with. The rooms we chose not have cleaned every day. Instead, we would put our dirty towels, etc. In a bag outside our room and we would return in the afternoon to fresh clean towels. The size of the room was good. We had almost more room that we could use. Location: It was not on the main street in Otaru, ocer a few instead. That was perfect for us. We realised there was a covered walkway/ shopping street that was very convenient to keep out of the weather. The shower had really good water pressure! Having spare blankets within easy access was really good.

The mattress were very stiff. I am finding a lot of hotel rooms have this issue. The other issue was the rooms could really deal well to add more pillows.

The location was very good - only a few minutes away from the Otaru station and close to a couple shopping streets, less than 10 minutes walk to the Canal, a few minutes away from the old railway track. We booked the room with 2 bikes which was a very good option. We enjoyed biking around the city a lot. Maybe because of the space for parking the bikes inside, the room was bigger than usual for a similar price range.

no staffs on site at all - meaning that you can't even keep you luggage after check out. the cafe downstairs never operated and most of the time lights off. I hope there were 2 pillows for each bed instead of one. Since the pillow was feather pillow and it got really flat after slept on it.

It is one block away from the canal, and easy walking distance from the railway station. The dinning room facilities on the first floor is good if you want to buy semi-prepared food and cook for yourself.

It seems everyone (foreigners as well as Japaneses) encountered problem in finding their reservations on the automatic check-in machine. They do not have staff on the spot. The key here is NOT to leave any space when keying in your name to find the reservation. Once you find your reservation on the machine (it has English interface), the rest is easy.

Love the experience of the self check in but careful with the name used for booking because I forgot and it took me a while at the machine. Every thing is self serve and I love the feeling of privacy this way. I love thé hôtel-hostel vibe because I’m travelling with my wife but we wanted a bit of hostel feel without sharing a room with others.

I didn’t like the sound proofing between the rooms as I could over hear the room next door when they talk normally.

The hotel is only several hundred metres from the train station and comfortably within walking distance of the canal, so the location was excellent. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We would recommend it to all visitors to Otaru.

We didn't dislike the fact there was no reception but the check-in screen was in Japanese and no indication of how to change the instructions into English. But after phoning the help number a staff member arrived within minutes to assist us. The hotel has a number of other locations in this city.

The Deluxe family room my friends and I stayed in was absolutely amazing and so clean. It’s in an ideal location right next to the station and in the town center. It’s all for a very reasonable price too.

Everything was done through a self-service machine which was easy enough to use but we didn’t see any front staff so it’s inconvenient if we had questions about the town or property.

They offer free coffee and the restroom is clean and tidy. The numbers of wall sockets are sufficient.

The staff can speak Janpanese only and there's only a telephone which is able to contect them. It's better to have some staffs at the counter. Face to face communication is much more easier for foreigner customer.

The free coffee machine works great and the self checkin and checkout is convenient and good for people who have social fear symptoms. The convenience store downstairs is also convenient. It's near to most attractions. We don't need room cleaning service so I left the dustbin outside. The staff emptied it and hang a bag of new towels on the door which is really nice.

We stayed in a room with twin bed, it was more spacious than I thought. A set of table and chair, bedside lights and amenities- there were everything we need. Also we appreciated the large communal area and free coffee. We didn't use it but you will get access to Onsen at another hotel nearby.
