1. Upon check-in, the receptionist, a cheerful young lady, warmly welcomed me, creating a delightful atmosphere. She provided clear instructions and guidance for my stay. 2. The room was not only clean and quiet but also inhabited by considerate guests who minimized noise, ensuring a peaceful environment. 3. The room’s unique style, featuring cement floors and wooden capsule beds, perfectly aligned with the hotel’s name, “Untapped.” It had a distinctive charm, making me feel like I was residing in the dormitories of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The bed arrangements also offered excellent privacy, truly enhancing the overall experience.

1. It's a bit disappointing that there's no elevator in the hotel. I had to lug my luggage up to the fourth floor, and it was truly exhausting. Even though the receptionist kindly offered to help, come on, I'm a guy – how could I trouble a lady? But, hey, if there were an elevator, it might spoil the whole "untapped" vibe of the hotel, right? 2. On the first night, there was a noticeable greasy smell in the room, probably due to the ground-floor restaurant and fellow guests cooking on the second floor. However, the aroma significantly toned down over the next four nights.

The location is across the street of a subway stop which made travel to and from much easier. Staff was great and professional. The place was clean and there was a fridge and cooking area in the 2F common area. There was an issue with my booking due to an error of Booking.com’s partner company, but the staff assured me they would make things right and have Booking.com refund my payment despite constantly being told by Booking.com’s staff the payment was non-refundable. They also offered a free mini-photo shoot as a limited-time promotion in exchange for following and posting on social. There was a board of recommendations that would be helpful for guests that already hit the main go-to’s of Sapporo or want to see local hits near the hostel.

There didn’t seem to be an elevator and the stairs are a bit narrow. Some people may struggle especially if living on higher floors. The first floor is a cafe, so there is the smell of food and oil in the stairways and common area. This may be a plus if you like the smell.

Amazing location to train station, great vibes and super friendly/helpful staff. We stayed in the female only dorm which had its own bathroom and shower down a floor which wasn’t an issue for us. The breakfast was also delicious and a great price

Only negative was there was not much space for our luggage in our dorm. Thankfully it was just us and one other so we left our suitcases outside our pod but no designated area

Everything, I had a genuinely pleasant stay at the hostel. Its location is unbeatable with a 1-min walk to a convenience store and close proximity to the station and Hokkaido University. The pricing is fair and student-friendly. The staff were exceptional. Mika's extraordinary reception skills truly stood out. Highly recommend!

The space per person is bigger than expected, with cloth hangers inside. You could even stand up inside at one side of the bed.

Maybe because there is a restaurant on the first floor, the room on the 3rd floor (female dorm) smells slightly.

A cozy common area. Spacious private room. Clear labelling of the recykling bins (which in general we found confusing in Japan)

There is no lift and the room is on the 4th floor - not a problem for us but mind this if you have lots of heavy luggage. We found the upper bunk bed a bit unsafe with hoge gaps between the railings.

Conveniently located right in front of the metro station. Spotless and very cozy. Friendly staff: we expedited a luggage from our previous location and the owner lifted it up to our room located in the last (fifth!) floor without asking. Double room was comfortable and fairly big. Kitchen was well equipped!

I had the private double room and it was great value. The best location. It was literally across the street from the local metro station. Only 2 stops from the main Sapporo JR station. Wonderful staff.

Not a big deal, but should be mentioned: no elevator. For those with heavy luggage, get ready.

Location ❤️ rather big bed for dorm-type hostel, humble & helpful staff, match for light traveler, woody room: nice concept !

wifi connection was so poor, no hot water for in-room toilet, shower room not in the same floor with bedroom, no elevator might be tricky for heavy/big luggages, still so cold (early feb)

Very clean and pretty hostel. Staff was also super friendly. I was there in off season so it was quiet.

The wifi did not work great (at least not in the dorm) but I could use it in the common room which was fine.
